Dream Swimmers

"Dream Swimmers"

Jack of Hearts
Played his sleeve
Violins, no less,

then,
pebbles thrown at windows

Love Lifted a Page

Dream Swimmers
Crossing Deep Oceans
with strange tides

Entranced
in the
Sleep of Arden

Love Lifted a Page
to Lake of Magic
a City All Golden

Fingers touched
entwined in the
Sleep of Arden

Mystery

Scoffers Take Heed

A gut full of grease is a glutton for greed
A swirling cesspool of sinful man's seed
These men of corruption, a pitiful breed
They trust their own hearts, which deceives them indeed
Prey for the fallen and wicked to feed
Who whisper with promise to fill man's each need
They scoff at God's promise, those depraved will not heed
They mock every word in God's Book when they read
Rejecters of Truth, in which mankind is preed
They have no fear of Christ, Who shall judge every deed
He Who gives man the breath for his life to proceed
He alone, in strict justice, shall perfectly meed
He Who casts into hell, by His Word, whence decreed
He Whose anger, and fury, and wrath shall exceed
All the strength of His creatures, who must there ever dreed
He Who mocks, in derision, all the damned as they plead
He Who laughs as they weep and they wail to be freed
He Who kindles the fire that shall burn every weed
Reprobate beings shall become as a glede
The bread of the leaven He shall thoroughly knead
He Who bled as they jeered shall then jeer as they bleed
When He smites with His iron they'll remember the reed
They'll remember His cup, that accursed Ganymede
He forsaken of God that the veil should be screed
He Who endured that redemption succeed
He Who for sinners was made sin, to accede
For sin, and the Devil, and death to impede
The powers of darkness were forced to recede
As did that legion of swine once stampede
When Jesus returns riding 'pon a white steed
Armies of angels and saints shall He lead

Open your ears and your eyes and take heed
Do not let your heart be a stone when you read
The Word became flesh, as the God-Head decreed
Son of God, Son of man, incorruptible Seed
A Savior for every sinner in need
Son of man, in the flesh, come to weep and to bleed
Son of God, Bread from heaven, to heal and to feed
Christ Jesus, the Son, that He might intercede
To reconcile God with the chosen to be freed
He Who the Son frees shall be free indeed

The Planets(Jupiter)

Oh great Jupiter, king of all the planets.
The great gas giant.
A great red spot, a magnificent storm.
You have many moons some large and some small.
The greatest of which are the Galilean moons.
Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.
The flux tube between Io and Jupiter,
A sight to behold.
As electricity jumps from one to the other.
Largest of all objects in our solar system,
Except the Sun, the giver of life.
Brilliant Jupiter many times larger than Earth
And far more mysterious.

Premium Member Given the Chance

(Verse 1)

Lost in life
They're checking out the way you seek
The talk is all over town
Worrying about the fruit you bear
It's gonna be so bittersweet

But I know them
I know their confusion
What's right for you
Ain't always right for them
They use up all their holy water
Washing their hands of you and your sins
But that ain't Him, no ...

(B)

He wants you where you are
He wants you where you've been

(Chorus)

Given the chance
They'll tear you with the law
Given the chance
They're gonna hurt you
Given the chance
They'll show you just how clean they are
So don't give 'em a chance
Don't give 'em a chance
Just stand on The Word
On The Word

(Verse 2)

Left and right
You see the world through eyes that tear
At the mention of His name
And yet they think they're
So much more than you
Cuz you don't play their game

These people will judge you
They'll prod and compare
But these people will never know
All the weight that you've gotta bear
Sorry, Brother ...
You don't measure up
With what we need
They'll never see, no

(B)

He'll take you where you are
He'll take you where you've been

(Chorus)

Given the chance
They'll tear you with the law
Given the chance
They're gonna hurt you
Given the chance
They'll show you just how clean they are
So don't give 'em a chance
Don't give 'em a chance
Just stand on The Word
On The Word
Oh ...

(Bridge & Guitar Solo)

(B)

He loves you where you are
He loves you where you've been

(Chorus)

Given the chance
They'll tear you with the law
Given the chance
They're gonna hurt you
Given the chance
They'll show you just how clean they are
So don't give 'em a chance
Don't give them the chance

Given the chance
They'll tear you with the law
Given the chance
They're gonna hurt you
Given the chance
They'll show you just how clean they are
So don't give 'em a chance
Don't give them the chance

Ganymede

A somber dome protected fondly from the heights
Of solitude by hawkish eyes was found at length
By Jupiter in his relentless storm of lights.
In there lay, hidden from all view, a youth whose strength
And beauty could ensorcel any heart and spark long fights
Among all those who’d lay their eyes
Upon a gem which all restraint defies.

The master of the heavens, in a show of skill,
Engulfed the tower in a ceaseless rain of gold
To kidnap fair-eyed Ganymede and then, at will,
To bring this shepherd to Olympus, in a bold
Attempt his fondest wishes to fulfill.
And thus, borne high on eagle’s wings,
A lad outdid the fame of kings.

Premium Member B What U Can B

(Verse 1)

Deep in the night
Caught between a promise
And a stranger's desire
All alone ...
He struggles with his thoughts
A bitter truth within

When will he start
To face the fears he knows
Lay hidden in the dark?
What is real ...
And how much of this is dream?
He needs to know
It scares him so

(B)

There has got to be a way to find
Freedom for this searching, troubled mind
And You know where ...
There.

(Verse 2)

Life takes its toll
Left alone again
To search his soul
The strength of youth
And vanity's embrace
Is wearing thin

I know his pain
Cuz every day I fight it
And still it remains
Why do we dare the night
To strike its blow and knock us
To our knees ...
Before we see?

(B)

Empty lives don't have to end that way
We can save a lifetime in a single day
If we believe ...

(Chorus A)

Don't try to change
Be who you are
He made you special
He gave you a star
There's more of you
Than what others see
He loves your soul
So be ...
What you can be
Oh

(Guitar Solo)

(B)

Oh -
Precious time we waste to judge and hate
Go and take His hand - it's never too late
I you believe ...

(Chorus B)

Don't you despair
Hold onto love
You're gonna find
A strength from above
Don't ever think
That you're gonna lose
Know deep inside
You can be ...
What you choose

Don't ever change
Be who you are
He made you special
He gave you a star
There's more of you
Than what others see
He loves your soul
So be ...
What you can be
Oh -

The Beasts From Ganymede

When they decided to leave their dwarf planet, these Gamymades had already
conquered Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and planned to seize Venus and Mars;
they are huge, horrifying beasts with swarthy, hard skin and bellicose eyes so fiery...
they set soil ablaze with their hard breath, making smoke rise higher than clouds:
be warned, they'll invade Earth and enslave us and destroy all we built over the ages!

Another World

The lonely lighthouse beamed upon by rays of moonlight stands
Above the restless sea, whose vapors spill upon the sands.
The nymphs of water courses rise to taste the soothing night,
Whose drowsy watch invites the stars to spread their limpid light.
The leaves of life are tossed and hurled across the forest’s floor
While sounds of Autumn start to knock at prideful Summer’s door.

The castle’s hallways lie asleep, although a tower’s pane
Begins to glint below the light of candles, making plain
A noble visage full of youth whose eyes behold the waves
With restless passion, while the mind a distant beauty craves.

Afar, the longed-for soul, consumed itself by love, is lying still
Upon a small and humble bed, divining heaven’s will
And fickle mood, whose edict once divided rich and poor
Despite their longings born of love which pains them all the more.

Although they’re young and full of hope, it will not take much time
For human vice and narrow minds to make their love a crime.
The years will pass, the candles burn—much faster than they think—
And, long before their hearts can tell, their view of life may sink.

They will be summoned—nay, enticed—their feelings to abscond
And then pretend that they had never been enamored all along.
The cruel old men must die below—the wicked gods above—
Before the world recalls that Jove stole Ganymede for love.
And then another world shall rise like Venus from the sea,
When all are free to sing their joy and claim their right to be.

(Intro Chorus)

Can't get enuf
Can't get enuf time with you
I can't get enuf - get enuf of you

Can't get enuf
Can't get enuf time with you
I can't get enuf - get enuf of you

(Verse A Section)

Tryin' - tryin' to break away
I need some time to clear my head
But time and again ...
I find I'm thinking of you instead

Once again I feel love chasin' me
But this time I don't know where it's from
I don't know if you feel the same
I don't wanna find I'm the only one

(Verse B Section)

Oh - why do I find I come alive
When you're near me baby?
I need my time alone
But I find I'm on my own
Just wishin' you were here

(Chorus)

Can't get enuf
Can't get enuf time with you
I can't get enuf - get enuf of you

Can't get enuf

Ooh - can you hear me? (Who can you hear?)
Oh - can you see? (Who can you see?)
Ooh - is there somethin' special here?
Or am I the fool again ...
Am I the man I don't want to be?
Oh - oh

(Synth Solo)

(Verse B Section)

Why do I find I come alive
When you're near me baby?
Please tell me I'm not dreamin'
Tell me I'm the one

On Missing the Talented Young John Keats

My friend, so young your countenance remains
When word’s cold death exacted Britain’s pain
In one brief moment quill caressed page,
papyrus breathed to life, precocious sage.
When first I gazed upon your stanzas long
mesmerizing trance from an angelic song.
A thing of beauty is the ink once spilled
in Eton’s courtyard ‘ere long days were filled.
Unending dream of dear Endymion’s sleep
imbued my soul in verses piercing deep.
Bright stars like flowers and far-off Ganymede,
ethereal seems real as what was real recedes
and tides of dusk creep slow upon night’s shore.
I, upmounted by your winged fancies flew,
a star-filled flight among the heavens new,
and silvery moon, which never burnt so bright
upon the shimmering waters of this night.
From Latmos’ Isle no stranger urges birthed
into mythic worlds of gods and fairies’ mirth.
When lore and love released their final breath
the heavens dimmed, as if to honor death
and stillness hung thick in English moors,
despair lurked yet close behind dread’s doors.
How long endured the object of your gaze
Fair Brawne, whose aura obsessed days,
did she, as we who grieve now centuries past
shed tear on tear, romance of Autumn last?
Having tasted, what remains on earth to weep?
For those who love, your beauty never sleeps.

The Moons of Jupiter

could someone please tell me

of the moons intentions

and of their affair

with Jupiter's rings

when lo and behold

Io has a fire in her belly

snowy volcanic fields

burning ice in her spring

Europa stands by

displaying cold shoulders

with oceans below

life she does bring

brother Ganymede

pulls it together

dark are his regions

light his terrain

beaten and battered

Callisto the stepchild

unchanged in its matter

and the song that it sings

is this all true

of Jupiter's moons

and of their intentions

could someone tell me

* A bit of sci-fi what-if?, about a lone man on Ganymede, witnessing the destruction of Io by the natural forces of Jupiter *

       ~

I knelt amidst the mountain's rise
        beneath the weeping opal skies
            there to measure Io's swoon
the envy of each lesser moon
trembling like a gold doubloon
        (heaven's tinged and gilded prize)

great Jupiter, the Lord of All
filled the sky with amber pall
    one reddened eye to consecrate
the anguish of dear Io's fate
years too soon, but eons late
            shaking with a haggard wrawl

            Io, once resigned its doom
yet, an orb of ravished bloom
(spurned as Zeus' paramour)
        shuddered to its carnal core
            wept, to mark Europa's door
the threshold to its fiery tomb

    I, stood lone on Ganymede
minding Io's breaching bleed
as fissures split its relic face
a mocking veil of Guipure lace
ceding ripe, its fall from grace
author of such caustic screed

Europa, in her jealous bend
paid scant mind to Io's rend
            jaundiced of Callisto's bough
    negligent, would disavow
keen to hide her withered brow
        skirting Jove to thus attend

in their haste to swift, depart
            sundered Io's weary heart
forces much too fierce to shun
imploring mercy, gaining none
        confident her time was done
            rattled death, then broke apart

as mine, the only sentient eyes
    attesting Io's bright demise
not in want of tears to shed
        spirit harrowed deep with dread
felt some tribute should be said
    but managed only muted cries

    it wrought such horrid irony
that Io's witness fell to me
        a spurious and tragic fate
for I, at best, was second-rate
    at physics AND as potentate
and seemed such grand calamity

    and yet ...

blessed was I by honor, deep
that my eyes were there to weep
thus, I vowed in prayer to write
the awful beauty of that sight
Io's death throes, bursting bright!
Lord Zeus' lover ... laid to sleep.

(the promise that ... I hereby keep)
