Notes About The Poem

** This is a song I wrote and recorded over 30 years ago on a four-track cassette deck in my bedroom, while attending college in Boston, but it has stood up well over the years and will be re-worked for my upcoming album on a major label, (under my music moniker "Bahku"). I hope you like it! (I did all the writing and production on this recording, and played all the instruments). **

John Hamilton May 10, 2017 at 11:28 AM Another smooth jazz type production, great voice great synth solo. Funny I wrote a song and posted it here, I repeated the refrain 4 times and was chided by a reader that 4 times was a needless repetition. I reminded her it was a song not a poem, and that was the main difference. Poems don't need a hook line. What's the name of this tune by the way? Ha! Gregory Richard Barden May 15, 2017 at 6:45 PM Exactly! And listen to all the "big hits" today - very simple and repeating hook lines so many times that it's almost hard to believe. It drives me crazy sometimes how much they repeat hooks, but THOSE are the songs that sell the most! And they're often made up of just three-or-four chords! I often think "I'm trying too hard!", lol. ;-)
