Is
This
Nature's Glory
As a quarry?
Alone and at peace
A life, a new lease
I pull up a piece of land
Take a little time to mend
This rainforest trembles
An open window in shambles
Sitting on my own made porch
I fire up a configured torch
Then lay under, should I say
What is like a porch light ray
And I wait for that one moth
Amongst butterflies sought
An unwanted reject
Like me ready to eject
Take me now in this lush
With the roar of death; a hush
And I will go, amongst this gift
Gods Eden unquestioned; my lift
My life to stop the bleeding of the land
So I protect this marvel, hold her hand
In sincere motion - there is a fusion
I can do
I can do
Never say can't
So I must chant
Let my body meld
With this
 forest held
  tight

Me alone a window into the future slightly opened
Maybe we are all like moths to a flame - penned

Renegades Foreva

Renegades Foreva!

Renegade teenage rage babes
thinkin’ they all grown, all knowin’
when they seedlin’s barely sown
bleedin’ teenage angst with teenage crankst
always rhymin’ and mis-timin’ some poetry-crimin’
mis-mashin', diss-bashin'
word-clashin' song
heard on some half-sappy, sex-happy,
yap-rap, smack-attack vid
made by some brotha who’s just anotha
angry angst-ridden
wannabe gangsta kid

With a street beat
they be hummin’ or singin’ along
repeatin’ the deceit
not knowin’ curse verses
are just plain wrong and mostly maligin’
while grownups in earshot
takin’ all them swearshots
wishin’ them words had sweeter rhymin’
or that kids be more discreet
would take their claptrap,
no-class, crass-crack lyrics
and just tweet ‘em or mime ‘em

But if ‘dults could go back, meet themselves
when they was punk teens
fittin’ into pre-shrunk his or her hunk jeans
listenin’, partyin’ to poppin’ rockin’
unusual musical junk boy band scenes
and lettin’ out star-struck
super-charged
groanal hormonal
no-one-could-understand gland screams
then they’d be amused ya know,
might change their views ya know
cause remind ‘em not so pristine
when child and ‘dult they was in-between

Kids always lookin’ to find
who they are and who they be
imprisoned involuntarily
in their youthful penitentiary
no matter what century they be from you see

So if thinkin’ rap sucks cause
it’s just no-class hurls and low-class slurs
then fire-up that flux capacitor of yours,
head back to yo’ past and meet yo’ younger him or hers
see your own rebelling mis-teen-stakes
then rapping notions you might reshape
or rapping judgments remake
or least maybe now tolerate new-age teenage
rapping outbreaks and in-yo-face ear-quakes
realizin’ that come whateva or wheneva
that all teens now, before an’ where-eva
will evamore and eva be
natural renegades foreva!

Premium Member Other Side of the Rainbow

It was on the other side of the rainbow
When I slid into a dream
I guess at that time nothing was, as it truly seemed
People came and people went
The needle played my blues
Through the rainbow dreams into leprechaun schemes
I was Papa Smurf with the magic brew
I built a Crystal Castle
On the shores of nevermore
I guess sometimes I wonder, “What was I searching for”
Beauty danced with big brown eyes
Though the faces always changed
Many times I slept with gals I thought were rather strange
Magic slides that no one hides
I wonder where they go?
I once slid down the rainbow just to see the show
The stars are bright it’s a beautiful night
Moonbeams illuminating mushrooms all around
Here by my house crickets and frogs are the only sound
Fairies dance like fireflies
It’s really quite the sight
Ever tripped down Hollywood and Vine on a Friday night
I have lived through many dreams
Shared many angels souls
Shattered dreams and broken schemes, nothing but empty goals
Broken hearts torn apart
Blowing in the wind
Like fairy dust you just can’t trust
Not even your closest friend
I dove into a crystal pool on the other side of the hill
I swear sometimes in my ears I can hear the ringing still
I rode upon the tornado just to go spinning through the sound
Landed in a concrete room bouncing all around
Leprechauns and rainbows
Unicorn’s beautiful and white
When I finally kicked the horse
It wasn’t a pretty sight
Like a frog on the log or a sick old dawg
Just a skeleton in a box
With the strength of Arthur's sword and trust in the Lord
I shattered a thousand locks
Now I’m back on this side of the rainbow
And every thing’s looking bright
My Guinevere is here and I love her dear
She is such a lovely sight
Trials come like waterfalls
Flooding though our life
I truly am a lucky man to face them with my wife
Well let’s gig the frog and fire up the log
We’ll roast us a pig tonight
Life is good in my neighborhood
Nary a single vice
The other side of the rainbow now seems so very far away
I guess that is really about all I have to say

Art and Its People

Fickle Art and control Freaky
Don't play well together
Tolerance was not accepted
'Cause he wore pink shoes

Cross the street each day at the same intersection
Fickle Art and control freaky but the road was not
And never could be big enough for these to share

Time square and Big Ben don't speak the same lingo
Don't hold the same values to be sacred
Dust will blow and dust will go
Huff and puff, back to the dust

Medical examiner: What stopped his heart?
Lack of tidal volume, puffed too long
Collapsed a lung...Fire up the crematory

Is it dusty in here?

***Artist note: Ever get tired of the windbags can't let you live your life and them theirs? I sure do.

Farewell, Year of Turmoil

How innocent can we begin?
How icy cold can we get?
Thousands of miles away
Yet my story remained static

As I lit a fire up in the night
I set fire to my foes
A true monster hunter
With a heavy load to bear

And as we fell deeper into despair
And grew stronger as a team
I reached out for a sign
That never came to be

I left my teenage years behind me
And emerged lonelier than I'd ever been
The world began to slow
And the end loomed near

The guillotine fell
And severed all we believed in
I gripped onto the idea of hope
Though the rope sliced into my hand

The world slowed down
As I watched my past repeat
You flew across the country
As disease claimed my friend

The summer sun shone eternal
As we embraced the time we had
Cool waves against warm air
As we burnt ourselves against each other

I took my first steps in a strange land
The nights were lonelier than ever before
The days passed completely alone
And I found solace in an old habit

Summer's last onslaught of heat
Drenched my clothes as I carved my path
A sea of wyverns cast its waves upon my shore
And I let my socks get soaked

I severed my past for a new future
I'd truly thought it was correct
I lost out to lust one last time
Before I let the reaper make his call

As regret washed over my sands
I chose to fight the best I could
But the world of autumn colors before me
Fell victim to complete gray in time

I'm spiraling through turbulent winds
And stealing each moment I can in the candlelight
I'm clamoring to rebuild what I destroyed
In the hopes that an answer will become clear

I'M Composing Myself For Christmas

I’M COMPOSING MYSELF FOR CHRISTMAS

I’ve done all my Christmas CHOPIN
And got everything on my LISZT.
All in all I’ve been frightfully BIZET
And the Christmas break will be BLISS.

I’m away to the VILLA-LOBOS,
In HAYDN until New Year’s Day,
With a girl in my arms who’s mad about BRAHMS
And the note on the HANDEL will say,

“For GOUNOD’S sake do not disturb us
Except for our SUPPE tray
With two glasses of sweet MARTINU
And a bowl of crème BOULEZ.”

The COLE PORTER’S built the fire up,
The TELLEMAN’S tuned in the set,
We’ll POULENC ourselves down on the sofa
And drop ORFF and try to forget.

Keepin' It Alive

fire up that smoke
no matter all of the warnings
it settles you
makes you not eat so much
eh . . .
oh, my honey and I
share with each other
our bodily fluids
our tenderness
we share our affection
I mean . . .
what is this thing called love
if not share
and share alike
for contrary to popular belief
love is not a never-ending honeymoon
no . . .
you and that woman
must figure out
how to make it last 'til death do you part
through the rough times
hold on to part of how it used to be
I mean the thrill
will always be there
although it lurks within us
dormant, waiting
to be recognized from time to time
as the years wear on
our love comes alive again
with the beginnings of our smiles
rebirth, a cool thing

Premium Member Self Love Is In the Air Bob and Wheel

I'm back;
Self love is in the air;
Fire up now I'm on track;
Boy test me if you dare
but I found that life hack;

Shining.
inner light with no bounds;
That's what you see lifting
me into the storm clouds;
Any doubts left dying;

Inside
I have faltered before;
Uncontrollable tide
raging inside my core;
Never again backslide.

Simply Put, Touched

"Simply Put, Touched"

Simply put,
nothing is ever
truly simple

from the get-go
the process
is complex

Love
or
not

in between
the middle road
of black and white

the colours
like codes
turned on, fire up

the frequency
needs to be
finely tuned

the lessons
heard hard
on the inside

learned

without
the constant
external braying

of trolls
their silver bullets
and bloodied pitchforks

solace
is discovered
inside the reflection

of pools
their drowned
broken treasures

discovered
along
unknown paths

their rippling surfaces
like bodies of shining satin
touched

under gaze
of guarding
emerald forests

shining canopies
held
touched

"Gotta get away, we live in a realm
Still I gotta break up and out of this hell
But, man, that frequency's so low
Damn, that frequency's so low"

Gridiron Glory

Summer's nearly over,
Fall's around the bend;
Fire up the family grill,
Football's back again!

Call up Uncle Benny,
Bring Aunt Lucy too;
Don't forget the "doggies",
We've got lots of brew!

Popcorn's on the table,
Burgers on the bun;
"SHUT UP EVERYBODY!!"
The game's just begun!

Grandpa's on the sofa,
Fiddlin' with his crotch;
Grandma's in limbo,
Staring at her watch!

Benny's passin' gas,
Aunt Lucy's joining in;
We make a hasty exit,
Departing from our den!

In the living room we sit,
Wrapped up in the game;
Here comes Uncle Benny,
With a rather silly claim!

"They won't shut up talkin!"
"Can I sit in here with you?"
The game's gettin' good,
Then grandpa walks in too!

Between the fiddlin' and fartin',
I think we're getting sick;
Something's gotta happen,
And it's gotta happen quick!

A bar down the way,
Alone on Maple Street;
Halftime's nearly over,
It's time to retreat!

Among screaming fans,
The QB throws a pass;
It's football season, baby!
Let's have ourselves a blast!

Fire Up Grill

Fire-up grill
No roadkill!
Cook the food
No fireballs dude!
Then eat what you will

Trees of Oblivion

Leaves release from their place of honor
Firm branches remain behind as naked
Look down on diamond blue hillsides fall
That origin, location where trees begin
With a proper perspective on leaf and limb

Held firm are the branches tilting forward
Acknowledging tomorrow from the womb...
The purpose is clear
The objective was shade
But now, no more, as it is gone

Shade disappears under the turtle tree
Exposed by the relentless sun hanging drunk
There in the total dark of space without strict discipline
Deciding to fire up the sky in search of hiding creatures
To burn them alive if necessary

Look under the trees void of leaves
Turtles fried white turned lifeless
They lay there, outed by the sun
And anything that lays beneath its scrutiny of light
There to be revealed by the barren bark dies

Stripped of what they were, trees surrender
A breeze takes their offspring leaves off to other worlds
Green with envy never to be returned
Trees have no secrets of their own
Where they come from only they know

To keep on growing is the goal
Hiding in clear sight with roots intact
Making new leaves to start the cycle
Every leaf is released into oblivion
Trees believe and follow their beginning

Blue Eyes

The prophecy said he would have eyes of piercing blue
This knight that conquers the world, and you
The strongest arm ever to swing a broad sword
The tallest knight, his title Lord.

She married the knight with eyes of blue
He was the strongest and tallest too.
But the prophesy said there would be love unbound
Yet in her heart, love still was not found.

Though the years did pass, dragons for her he did slay
A new gift or a conquest, great stories each day.
But for the lady of this handsome strong Lord
Love did not touch down, to her deepest chord.

Along came a new knight his arm powerful and strong
Through many lands he had travelled so long
Felling mere knights that dare cross his path
Till the day the tallest knight, did fire up his wrath.

He spied the Lady at the side of the Lord
For her he knew any river he would ford.
To win the heart of this lady so grand
So that one day she would give him her hand.

She denied her love for the prophecy said
Twould be the ‘tallest and strongest Lord’ she would wed.
Not only that, this new knight she had seen
Had not the blue eyes, his eyes were green.

He held his sword arm pointing, he told her his time he would bide,
My heart and soul are yours, will you come to me as my bride?
No matter the vows, that you made long before
You didn’t know you entered via the wrong door.

The Lady was sad, which way to turn
Her vows she had made, but her poor heart did yearn
For the tallest and strongest Lord with the eyes piecing blue
Or the new pretender with a love that is true.

Amidst dragons and demons with swords they did fight
Through day after day from dawn till dark night
They battled they fought, each had right on his side
But neither could win no matter, they tried.

Their swords they did clash, sparks flew and swords fused as one
Till death they did fight but neither one won
The prophecy was just like the story of the Holy Grail
Nothing more than some pages, in a child’s fairy tale.
