without a rocking-chair in sight
ol' Tam or Tom rules the roost
guarding henhouse since the fox lit out
and the door fell off its hinges

'n' all the hens cackle nervously about
wondering what tale to tell will
Felis catus softly howl tonight
to lull them nestling to defenseless
