Premium Member Favour Turned Sour

A frequent favor is soon a debt:
It makes cupped hands close into fists.
Now that my hands are empty,
I see your breast heave with cold dark clouds—
A sure sign of the storm to come.
A pool of slime gathers in your eyes
That just yesterday were wide and glad
But now both narrow, each to a slit.
The fault, I know, is that a favor has gone missing,
So I the giver must hear the hissing.

Each time my favors to mist dissolve,
Your inner angels and demons to fists come.
Whom you cheer tells me focus:
Whether you dwell on scores or dwell on sores.
I see you cheer the angels
When it's my scores that you recall,
Scores that I gained whilst my favors flowed;
But it's demons that you cheer
When all you see are sores
That now hurt you where lost favors once soothed.

I feel your pain, so this much I’ll say:
In the hands of the clock is a mighty broom:
Of the plumes of angels' wings are its bristles made.
When time beats the past to dust,
It’s all soon wafted to heaven
As the clock each day fields its fabled broom.
Out of that dust, as at the beginning of time,
The Lord ever forms new worlds and fortunes
In which by his grace
Things now lost and missed may yet be reborn—
But only to those that stand with the angels.

Without Fear Or Favour

Without fear or favour,
Will you be remembered for this kind of behaviour?
Or will your epitaph be of a different flavour.

Will you be remembered as having no backbone?
Staying on your cell phone,
While others are cut to the bone.

Will you have showed how tough your love can be?
Or will you have preferred to wait and see,
What our re-action would be.

Has, fear of being out of favour?
Ruled your behaviour,
In place of Love your neighbour.

Is fear or favour been motivating your behaviour?
When others ask you a favour,
Knowing the consequences could be dour.

Without fear or favour,
Is it possible for extremism to sour?
The news every hour.

What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. Psalm 8:4–6

Premium Member The Favour of God -Genesis 6: 8

God sends many blessings upon the world
so many that they couldn't be counted
just as Abraham had all his descendants
this fact leaves us all truly astounded

Now Noah was a humble servant of God
stood for righteousness when no one would
obeying his blessed Lord to build an ark
when everyone mocked him he still stood

For this act of bravery and faithfulness
God was with him fully and true
promising His favour upon him to bless
this the Lord would continue to do

The Lord knew about the life of Noah
for His eyes were cast on His chosen one
blessing Noah with God's merciful favour
for he'd stood true to be told well done!

('But Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord.')

Premium Member Ballade: In Favour of Those Called Decadents and Symbolists, Translation of Paul Verlaine's Poem

Ballade : In favour of those called Decadents and Symbolists, Translation of Paul Verlaine’s Ballade en faveur des dénommés Décadents et Symbolistes

						for Léon Vanier*

(The texts I use for my translations are from : Yves-Alain Favre, Ed. Paul Verlaine : Œuvres Poétiques Complètes. Paris : Robert Laffont, 1992, XCIX-939p.)

Some few in all this Paris :
We live off pride, yet flat broke we’re
Even if with the bottle a bit too free
We drink above all fresh water
Being very sparing when taken with hunger.
With other fine fare and wines of high-estate
Likewise with beauty : sour-tempered never.
We are the writers of good taste.

Phoebé when all the cats gray be
Highly sharpened to a point much harsher
Our bodies nourrished by glory
Hell licks its lips and in ambush does cower
And with his dart Phoebus pierces us ever
The night cradling us through dreamy waste
Strewn with seeds of peach beds over.
We are the writers of good taste.

A good many of the best minds rally
Holding high Man’s standard : toffee-nosed scoffer
And Lemerre* retains with success poetry’s destiny.
More than one poet then helter-skelter
Sought to join the rest through the narrow fissure ;
But Vanier at the very end made haste
The only lucky one to assume the rôle of Fisher*.
We are the writers of good taste.

ENVOI

Even if our stock exchange tends to dither
Princes hold sway : gentle folk and the divining caste.
Whatever one might say or pours forth the preacher,
We are the writers of good taste.

*One of Verlaine’s publishers who first published his near-collected works at 19, quai Saint-Michel, Paris-V.

* Alphonse Lemerre (1838-1912), one of Verlaine’s publishers at 47, Passage Choiseul, Paris, where from 1866 onwards the Parnassians met regularly.

*Vanier first specialised in articles for fishing as a sport.

Premium Member A Favour Is a Favour

When doing a favour for someone, it needn't be returned
A favour is a favour, a show of friendship confirmed
No need to be repaid
So this gesture evade
It's sure not necessary where friendships are concerned

Favour from God the Father

fortifies steadfastly against folly

faith* of mine Christ divinely flavours...

fueled by salvation freedom

for faithful service of love's fervency

fired-up midst the Holy Spirit's revival flame.

*Hebrew 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Premium Member Lord God, You Are My Favour Granter

May 6 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Esther 5-7

Key Verse – Esther 5:2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY FAVOUR GRANTER

Lord God, You are my favour Granter,
touching me with Your goodness
Thank You for responding to my call’s earnestness…
Please answer me of my petition’s request by Your faithfulness
May I then find approval in Your sight’s graciousness.

Lord God, You are my favour Granter,
taking me to Your joy’s victory
Thank You for refraining me from carnal pleasure’s flurry…
Please let me advance upward toward Your holy territory
May I then refuse worldly invitations that lead to my misery.

Lord God, You are my favour Granter,
teaching me to avail of Your blessing
Thank You for welcoming me for ministerial pressing…
Please help me obey Your commandments, divinely rising
May I then lay my life to Your altar for Your daily nursing.

Lord God, You are my favour Granter,
training me in Your service of honour and dignity
Thank You for upholding me to stand upon Your truth’s certainty…
Please cause me to delight in Your perfect will’s sovereignty
May I then wear Your apparel of functional spirituality.

Lord God, You are my favour Granter,
testing me against failure and frustration
Thank You for strengthening me midst hardship and persecution…
Please cover me with Your comfort to withstand attacking desperation
May I then prevail by Your guarding compassion.

Lord God, You are my favour Granter,
treating me to Your banquet’s contentment
Thank You for enabling me to fulfill my stewardship by Your empowerment…
Please keep me abounding in my good works’ commitment
May I then abide in Your security’s settlement.

Lord God, You are my favour Granter,
tending me by Your determined assurance
Thank You for inviting me to labour with Your partnership’s endurance…
Please instruct me, correcting my arrogance as well as ignorance
May I then learn from Your Word along Your precepts’ eternal insurance.

Premium Member Restored Favour

Caught up in a cloud to meet my Lord and Savior
As I look around me
I can hardly see my house now
Cause I have risen wow
Miles away I still pray as I soar up to the skies
There's a new home awaiting me ahh ahh ahhh ah
And I don't believe that the Lord would leave me here on this old earth
I repent of my sins because He brought me in
I walk thought heaven's gate, I celebrate;
Because He knocks at my heart so I opened the door and there He dwells
He shared all His love because He cares
With all so much I didn't no it was going to be like this
He shared so He cares so and His table not full
Give me His Spirit to help me choose the way
So I'll go His way, the right way
Give me His Spirit to help me choose lasting salvation so that I won't lose my life
And be stuck in this worldly foundation
I have no regrets I will rejoice
Rejoice
Of Him I have no regrets I will rejoice in Him
I am found in

In A New Season of Favor

In a new season of favor, we stand
With open doors to our destined land
It is time to bridge the mind-body gap
Letting go to embrace the new field map.

Transitioning into the unknown
Where tabernacle and miracles are sown
New wine flows, bursting out
Shattering chains of trauma, fear and doubt.

The old structures of pain and strife
Fall, making way for reward and life
Joy, liberty and freedom are found
In this mind-metamorphosis, we abound.

Thoughts reborn, fighting the past
Clearing confusion into new future vast
Crossing over to our miracle field
Where dreams and destiny are revealed.

Premium Member Lord God, You Are My Favour Giver

January 21 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Exodus 11-13

Key Verse – Exodus 11:3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY FAVOUR GIVER

Lord God, You are my favour Giver
Who forgives me of my confessed unrighteousness
Thank You for speaking to me, warning me against wickedness
For my holiness in Your graciousness
Midst prevailing hypocrisy and deceitful worldliness.

Lord God, You are my favour Giver
Who meets me upon Your throne of glory
Thank You for listening to my cry whenever I feel earnestly sorry
For my deliverance from frustrations as I follow You to victory
Midst attacking misery and worry.

Lord God, You are my favour Giver
Who cleanses me from sin-blemishes
Thank You for purifying me with Your blood-washes
For my sanctification against fleshly-staining splashes
Midst polluting destructive flashes and evil trashes.

Lord God, You are my favour Giver
Who keeps me safe in Your ordinance
Thank You for drawing me Your mercies that spiritually enhance
For my faith-fortification from sufferings’ disturbance
Midst spoiling selfishness and arrogance.

Lord God, You are my favour Giver
Who brings me to Your care
Thank You for carrying me to Your divine welfare
For my obedience to Your commandments of standard glare
Midst passing days of proving stare and reproving words like beware.

Lord God, You are my favour Giver
Who opens me to Your compassion
Thank You for guiding me to Your promised land of blessings’ provision
For my enjoyment along sacrifices with service-devotion
Midst varying trial and temptation.

Lord God, You are my favour Giver
Who harnesses me in Your leadership
Thank You for taking me straightly to Your ministry’s kingship
For my success in encamping along Your designed journey’s truthful worship
Midst anchoring pillars of heavenly citizenship and faithful stewardship.

Falling Out of Favour

She no longer loves me
She said her heart feels it
She can't even try to pretend
Like she can really control her heart

Don't pity me let us celebrate
She had the trouble to be true
Like I am untied to one sided love
The heart can now easily let go

I feel so free -out of the cage
No body can lie to me now
Pretending to feel cherished
I really love her for such a truth

If you meet her down town
Don't look at her with wild gaze
Like she be untamed cat as a cheetah
She had learnt to be true and loving

She no longer loves me
She said her heart feels it
At first she would pretend
Yet now she can't even try to ...

Show Me Favour

Show me favour
I will stay forever
Redeem me
Vindicate me

I am broken among-st women
Among-st all women
I am despicable
Because am not able

They lied,I tried
It's all useless
Only when powerless

I no longer can fight
With no will power at night
Redeem to me what's right.
