Oaks in white laced snow
Winter's smile has bragging rights
Sun kissed and lovely
Fancy Dress
You could;
Come as an Indian Chief
Or perhaps a Downhill Skier?
Come as a Jewel Thief
Or a red nose Reindeer
Come as a Grizzly Bear
Or a puppet on a string
Trousers with a wide flair
Or just about anything
Why not a Preacher?
Or an Alien from space
An absent-minded teacher
Or clown with painted face
A character from history
Like Alexander the Great
Someone cloaked in mystery
A juggler from the fete
So, put on your thinking cap,
There’s lots that you could be.
What’s it going to be old chap?
Please not the same as me!
All the best costumes are taken.
So here I am,
dressed up like John Travolta.
Saturday Night Fever,
'cept it's Friday,
and my shoes aren't quite right.
All alone,
in a corner,
on antidepressants,
drinking too much,
and still I can not dance.
Pink, wet, ripe lips
Crystal blue eyes
Provocative timely swinging hips
Sensuous chunky thighs
Black, long, silky hair
Perky firm milky breasts
See through pink underwear
In a low cut skin tight dress
High heels, to pump up the calf
Long pink nails, not too tarty
A thin tight neck scarf
Sid you’ll be a stunner at the fancy dress party
The fancy dress theme was religious
Some went as tarts and some, vicars
Yvonne found romance
wearing men's underpants
With a vicar in frilly white knickers
FANCY DRESS
We went to great pains, my wife and I
To get our costumes right.
We’d won first prize as Tarzan and Jane
Back on New Year’s night
So we had a lot to live up to,
The only way was down.
But we found what we wanted on eBay
And each dressed up as a clown
We set off for the party,
With the minimum of fuss.
It had been worth all the effort
(Though we got funny looks on the bus)
We burst into the party,
Eager to impress.
And that’s when we discovered
It wasn’t fancy dress.
