Best Exceptions Poems

Exceptions

Exceptions disregard the rules
Like neither’s “i” and “e”
Or smokers who refuse to quit
And live to ninety-three.

Cops who park illegally
As if they were allowed
And those who pass the velvet ropes
That won’t admit the crowd.

Parents who refuse vaccines
For reasons none too clear
And A-list folk for whom a table
Seems to just appear.

There’s an expectation that
From rules, some will depart;
Exceptions, though, remind us that
What’s fair plays little part.

Each life
is a series
of exquisite moments-
beacons of beauty illume grey
shadows

Exceptions To the Gray

The water’s gray and so’s the sky
And all the buildings passing by
As well as cars and people’s clothes –
The gray’s contagious, I suppose.

Yet two exceptions pierce the gloom,
Intentionally, you’d assume –
The yellow of the school bus fleet
And taxi cabs with fares to meet.

Though just for fall, some golden trees
Join forces on these yellow sprees
To brighten up a dismal day
When (mostly) everything is gray.

Exception

So much sorrow and failure I see.
All are shipwrecked in life's angry sea.
Be it illness, divorce,
rack and ruin perforce.
The exception, of course... will be me.

Are There Any Exceptions

Tell me- are there any other rules for love I haven't tried yet?
I saw you up in Heaven or were you just flying around trying to seduce me?
Can Heaven really wait?
I'm outside waiting for you.
To tell you the truth, I'll wait forever or at least until my heart breaks.
Are we just going to be close friends for eternity?
Look at me! Girl I'm on my knees!
You know you can count on me for anything and everything that doesn't involve drugs or murder.
I'll follow- you just lead.
Lead me to the life I was supposed to inherit when I heard your angelic voice.
Let me fall into your soft arms once again, but not as friends.

The second language

Oh ,my dear ,world wide, second language, You're ruling the whole world obviously ,
Almost ninety countries have you as their mother tongue. And nearly sixty countries are using you as an official language. The twenty six letters are dominating the world's scenario , Your global influences make you as a dominant language, The non-native learners feel hard to learn you, Your tricky grammar rules challenge them to grasp. The funny language is just like a wild horse, If you go before it ,it will certainly bite you , Likewise it will boot you ,if you go behind it , And it has many exceptions to the rules. If a noun comes alone it will be a singular, And if a noun adds with suffixes s or es, It will be a plural in your rules of grammar, Some nouns are the same in both singular and plural. We omit the article that comes before a noun normally ,
Sometimes an article is added before a noun specifically , Words have same spellings but different pronunciation, And you simply require a lot of memorization. Anyhow you're breaking down language barriers, And you're promoting the world's multi lingualism, You're a bridge in between different cultures of the globe, No wonder you're the world's most common lingua franca.

Exceptions especially encouraged--
Every encounter emerges,
Eventually enveloping everyone
Eagle-eyed; ecstatic, energetic
Early earthlings enjoyed elegies
Effusively effected, each eloquent.

Spectacular Day With Some Exceptions

I heard a blue jay in the distance…
I open up the curtains…ooh…
Forgive me if I drift away
I wanna soar like a bird…
You gave me that smile and you made my day
You made my day a spectacular one…
With some exceptions

Tempted to do wrong…oh how I hate those countless deceptions
Writing a new song…oh I hate those wild, countless temptations
Waiting to belong…trying to make this cherry-top decision
Tempted to do something quite horrid
Wanting to do something productive for once
Weeping with regret and dread

I heard a classical song not long ago
Forget me if I say the wrong words
That tear you apart…waiting to depart
From depression…ooh…
I’m persistently trying to grab a hold of myself
I’m feeling sore…my heart is bleeding out
You give me that look of suspicion
I feel free like birds out of the cage…
You made my day a spectacular one…
With some exceptions

Tempted to do wrong…oh how I hate those countless deceptions
Writing a new song…oh I hate those wild, countless temptations
Waiting to belong…trying to make this cherry-top decision
Tempted to do something quite horrid
Wanting to do something productive for once
Weeping with regret and dread

Sleeping without a sound…
I tried to sing a song, but my voice drowned…
In the ocean, I fall…
On the mountains, I call…
Graze in your own maze…
In other words, mind your own business
You give me a death stare…an eccentric gaze
You made my day a spectacular one…
With some exceptions

Tempted to do wrong…oh how I hate those countless deceptions
Writing a new song…oh I hate those wild, countless temptations
Waiting to belong…trying to make this cherry-top decision
Tempted to do something quite odd…I’m about to (lose control…)x4
Wanting to do something productive for once
Trying to do something that will kill those negative thoughts
I glance at the mirror and I fade away…
(Ooh…oooh…ooh…)x2 I’m turning the wrong way…
Oh! Oh oh…oh oh…it’s a spectacular day…
With some exceptions…
Ohh…ohh…ohh…

No Exceptions

Its not guns that kill people its people who kill people,

So put the guns down cause your families really need you,

Your parents and your sibblings you want to leave them alone?

You want your baby brother or your sister growing up being your clone?

Are you at peace? I think not, something is wrong in your head,

You're wanting to be in the streets and not with your family instead,

What are you doing? Lives are ruined, wiith every choice that you make,

Just go home change your life and try to right that mistake,

You dont know it but you're being watched by the kids where you live,

Lead by example, before you trample, on the lives of those kids,

Never to late to make a change why dont you just throw away that gun,

Innocent kids including yourself will be done before life has begun,

Pick up a book make a change before your time runs out,

You can get shot from a plot, or go that Prison Song route,

What you do comes back around but only 10 times worse,

If not you but a family member will be riding through in that hearse,

Its just the way the cookie crumbles there's no exceptions in the game,

You win some but you're more likely to lose more than yourself with the pain.

Exceptions

We all think we're the exception
Those thoughts are just deception
Games played in your own mind
Wasted time you can't rewind
Your best bet is to learn and improve
That mind set remove
Try to rebuild those bridges you've burned
Apply the knowledge you've recently learned
Even if the lesson was some what cruel
You now know, you're not the exception to the rule.

Democracy says
The minority must obey the majority
But to the genius
And the saint
Sometimes
There are exceptions
To discover
To believe
Those on the right
Are the minority

River of Mystery

Title - River of mystery!

Don't say my dear exceptions does not exist,
It just need a single interest.
World is not a table spoon,
Mean it, world is not a swimming pool.

Wonders and wonders are there,
You need to look over there.

Infinity of mysteries are at the top,
It is glancing at you.
Unpredictable the world is,
Full of the nightmares.

As much the mystery is digged ,
As much you are in the pit.

Don't say my dear exceptions does not exist,
It just need a single interest.
World is not a table spoon,
Mean it World is not a swimming pool.

Does your workplace have a ‘humor department’
You know, a group of hungry, semi-professional comedy writers
dedicated to the proposition that all employees have
an unalienable right to a hearty laugh at least
                         once every twenty minutes

A lot of employees have a lot of bones to pick with management
This one should be as unpickable as pickle-ball
