Best Eventualities Poems

Eventualities

Sometimes in a black-veiled night
When sleep eludes my frame.
My mind succumbs to fright
Of things too wretched to name.

I ponder the possible eventualities,
"What if this?" "What if that?"
They seem to be tenable realities,
And I am further taken aback.

One dark thought leads to more
'Til dawn's birth grants reprieve.
But other such nights are in store—
A specter I tremble to conceive.

Sweet Savior watch this night with me,
Bless me with the peace thou giveth.
From every fear let me be free
For I know of a surety thou liveth.

Premium Member Living In the Shadows of Life

Day to year living in the shadows of life
Events, eventualities thrown like stones
Embedding in ones soul, pointed knives
Physical mental scars, some shown
This roaming through time, life's strife
Inhaled, our living poisonous spores
Exhaled near suffocation, breathless

Living in the shadows of life, day to year
Moments in time encompassed by they
Sporadic but reality fused by ones fear
Stones thrown, their leaving marks say
It's overcoming such, to again life's steer
Inhale, prevail, give existence your all
Exhale, reveal, your life thrall to live

When Time Fleets I Began To Cry

When time fleets I began to cry
Such nostalgia, I dignified
Started from time to time
Endless moonshine, so divine.

No secrets, no lies
Tears are the hardest to hide
Like a toothache that bothers for a long time
Loneliness is what I tend to try.

Craving fantasies that will gone with the wind
Can you even see what you have breathed in
Eventually, eventualities' coming is eventual.
Don't try your life as it is meant to be sensual.

No secrets, no soul.
When your universe comes to an end.
I am the black hole.

Premium Member Walking In the Lakes

Walkers gather throughout the year
In Keswick, Ambleside and Grasmere
They come to walk the fells
No matter the weather wet or clear

They travel from near and far
To follow the maps of Mr Wainwright
Who walked these same fells in the past
And left a memorial to follow aright

They are many to choose from
Helvelyn, Helm Crag, Catbells and Skiddaw
That’s just a few from the many
You have all kinds in which to draw

Be prepared for all eventualities
Good boots waterproofs ect. are a must
So are water to drink and food to eat
Then looking upwards in prayerful trust

They also are captured on film
Featuring Julia Bradbury on DVD
To follow the steps of dear AW
Giving hope and inspiration for you and me

Our Final Dance with Death

One way or another in this life each of us shall end up,
In that final dance of our life—that dance with Death.

Some shall experience this dance routine earlier in life,
Whilst others shall follow later in the course of a life’s run.

Hope, faith, courage, and a spirit of love may help each of us
To cope with the expected final eventualities from this dance.

It’s oft easier to wax philosophically about someone else’s
Circumstances with Death’s spectre rather than our very own.

Ultimately, one’s faith in Almighty God is the eternal power
Far beyond our death that beckons all of us to His Kingdom.

And so, this final dance with Death is our transition from the
Mortal Coil as our souls ascend skyward into God’s Kingdom.

Deus est qui regit omnia—and we are one with Him in the end.
Deus miseratur, Deus vobiscum—Amen! Amen! Amen! Amen!

Last Lies Under the Bridge

Intricately planned, all eventualities covered
No more excuses, thickly buttered
When darkess falls, She'll be rid of the pain
After everything, she'll never see him again.
Lie after lie, empty promises, fuelled with deception
destruction, humiliation untold dejection
No more pushing, no more bloody punches
She's found the truth to all those founded hunches
Now he'll pay for the damage that lies deep
that made her crumble to the bottom of the heap
but now she's strong, now she's vexed
Now she knows what's coming next
Conversation overheard, etched the plan
to rid her of that demon man
In shadows she follows
surreptitiously in the hollows
inviolable now with evil as her guide
love and protection, for so long denied
made her turn to satan's side
She with equanimity, her mind on avaunce
Primed for the deed, she knows her sentence
He's to late to beg for his repentance
He's unaware of the death knell
Moonlight casts a lurid luminence, a black magic spell
His last tryst once more under the bridge, lit his cigarette
Like an apparition before him, his face she wouldn't forget
Stupified, eyes open wide
who would speak for him Jekyll or Hyde
just about to say !
but he didn't have a chance
She blasted him away!

Premium Member A Disturbing Train of Thought

The hypnotic thrum of the wheels
Drumming smoothly along the tracks
Inside the early morning hush
Broken by the rare stifled cough
The casual rustling of a newspaper
And the whisper of sporadic conversation.

A body slumped against the window
Business papers being scanned
Earpieces inviting oblivion to the outside world
Anxious glances thrown at watches.

The driver whistles quietly to himself
Glad that soon his shift will be over
Trees ,bushes,houses and bridges
Slide past, silent observers of the passing scene.

What is that?He stiffens
The crucifixion shape on the parapet
The manual did spell out such eventualities.
Uselessly he slams on the brakes

He glimpses the inward looking eyes
The body glances off the windscreen
The brakes screech and squeal
And the acrid stench of burning flesh fills the air.

The sickening jolt throws
Everyone awake.
Time grinds to a halt.

Foreseeing Eventualities

This poem is about our inability to avoid eventualities. The sooner we can accept them, the sooner we can prepare for them. In the darkness is where the light will be revealed.

You were born, and like it or not, you're going to die
don't claim to be human, if you lack the capacity to cry
by wasting time, this precious of commodities goes lost
only as life comes to an end, you understanding its cost

A poem with a vision, control the fear, make a decision
when surrounded by doubt, you anticipate the collision
by coming face to face, you're forced into a confrontation
always finding yourself rushed by others, your frustration

That light at the end of the tunnel, thinking where it can be
but more often than not, a mirage is all that you really see
trying to transform reality, but life is only a merry-go-round
until you meet your soul, then existence becomes profound

This world is about foreseeing eventualities, that's where we're all headed
whether for good or bad, the choices we make will forever be embedded
no secrets exist in the world above, and much depends on just what we do
so look forward in making the right decisions, and those merits they accrue

How deceptive we humans are, passively content with maintaining our status
until we're put to the challenge, and in need of all that emotional apparatus
there's simply no escape, so we must face the music, learn to accept reality
our ultimate demise has already been decided, death is an absolute formality

So live for the present, and focus on the good waiting for you on the road ahead
while never forgetting, there's plan and purpose in all the good that you spread
rejoice in life and in all the good that you do, as your Creator awaits your return
destined to find true happiness, a happiness that only yearning souls can discern

Why The Abyss Stares Back

Time passes, fear grows
All eventualities
Seep in like poison.

A façade of peace,
An underbelly of pain.
Two halves of one world.

Cracks begin to show.
Forked tails in elegant clothes
Eyes open to more.

Wide smiles show fanged teeth –
Hunched over those that still pray
Is your God alive?

Lands over the sea
We used to think they stood tall.
Now, all is falling.

I’m a Nihilist
For who could look at the world
And still have any hope.

A Soul's Choice To Rejoice

Life is but a corridor, and death is the only door
whatever you take with you, is yours forever more
time is as a fleeting shadow, passing days are not perceived
when you realize your loss, it will be too late for you to grieve

A wise man foresees eventualities, and prepares himself in advance
while the fool pushes things off to tomorrow, and relies on chance
wisdom dictates that we should recognize, our years in this world are few
no man knows the day of his death, nor takes advantage, of his life to review

The soul, a piece of your eternity in a physical being, to you has been given
challenged by the tests in this world, for good or for bad, will your soul be driven
against your will were you created, and against your will are you forced to choose
alone you have the fortitude to win, or accept the consequences if you lose

Standing tall and full of faith, you decide to give it your best shot
you change your life for good giving up much, and never forgot
the truth is of great value to you, because you acted upon it when you knew
only what you have succeeded to overcome, in the end will belong to you

Trump

no, the instrument
not the president

jews harp, jaw harp
plucked from thy heart

by the shaman heals
meditation steals

its rhythms
across realms

eventualities
and through centuries

tricked by its old name lure
tricked by its sound, nature

jewes trump for a king
heck why not, a politician

Beve Companio

Between day and night
               my quiescent hub

Eve and dawn slow-
    dancing in the soft pause

Views are hazy
    lazing in the mellowed rev

Eventualities curb
          as harmonies merge

Chords dark, soon creep
            in a discordant sync
overpowering the light
        dimming melody’s halo
Menace seeps deep tones
          droning thru a dream

Packed disharmony!
            Wolves snarling sharp
as they watch
    singular beams of aurora
nick and sear,
   jarring woods from deadpan

I grieve the briefness,
this escape from me and i
Over the calm,
         life calls away its woo

Eventualities don't apply to me
     (I can dream)
no matter their presence
in the mirrors of reality

Always one step ahead
though the shrinking distance
     haunts
like the miles left for a Tesla charge
eventualities be damned

A proud GTO once sneered
at the pitiful jalopies that
    soiled the curb

a roaring young engine
never once to glance at
those left behind -

the defunct riffraff
that Pontiac replaced,
now, their value measured only
by the thump of a
    Mecum gavel

The showrooms now occupied
     by "green" Prius's
  and other hybrid youths
who sneer at discontinued
   glutinous appetites

       While the GTO,
like a deserted lunar excursion module,
waits for the next Apollo mission -

              still

I've learned to celebrate today
until my "jalopiness" overcomes me -
eventualities be damned!

Vested Intrest

Life is a temporary link,
Between the Abyss and the
Abstract, but in-order to take
A vested interest, One must
Avoid superficial condemnation
In exchange for a chance
To assert and secure his own
Eventualities' among
The realm of the living
