Eventualities
Sometimes in a black-veiled night
When sleep eludes my frame.
My mind succumbs to fright
Of things too wretched to name.

I ponder the possible eventualities,
"What if this?"  "What if that?"
They seem to be tenable realities,
And I am further taken aback.

One dark thought leads to more
'Til dawn's birth...
