Before… I beheld her quivering, shirking---
suffocation gripped her with my envelopment;
breaking free from the gentleness I exuded
she would scamper wailing…
as if scorched by my belongingness’ warmth.

After painstaking therapeutic sessions
offering my compassion-propelled embrace
I witnessed her, gradually yielding to me
succumbing to my love-blest invitation…
devoid of resistance.

Graciously overcoming...

Moonlight and the Chesapeake Bay
My heart sings on this lazy summer night at the amazing beauty of the
moonlight illuminating the Chesapeake Bay,
making a solemn pronouncement of it to be magical and mystical.

From the comfort of my screened porch, I am at ease in my padded chase
watching this magnificent...

Poseidon
Do you ever allow your poetry to fall gently into the categories of what would be?
Your own librarian.
Sequestered into the silences of your mind.
Envelopment of screams.
Someone who had the pleasure of shaping your dreams? Ever just flowed until someone said, "Don't,"...

Out Flanking the Phalanx
Out Flanking The Phalanx

Roman Soldiers like to drink
So I sent them out to battle Hannibal
A simple mission not for sober men
First to the Cannae Battle, 216 BC with lots of sun and debauchery
Then on to Tribia
It came to pass with sun on every side
More so...

High Priests and Priestesses of Environmental Conservation
My comrades and I hereby present our observations

In light of runaway climate change and glacier-melt
That among our brothers and sisters is so keenly felt

We see no other course but to revert to our former ways

Lone
I’m not afraid of dying alone.

She said she wants a man who will keep her awake;
She fears these days of growing old.

She tries to care about the men who stay,
Because she must marry one someday.

There is love at first sight,
And then there’s a time...

Daniel Morgan's Masterpiece, Part Ii
...The sharp-shooters opened on him first,
Cutting down fifteen of his dragoons,
Tartleton ordered a grand charged,
with his infantry now on the move.

The sharp-shooters fired and fell back,
were absorbed in the second line,
who had been ordered to fire twice,
then get out of there double-time.

They targeted British officers,
took...

My World
Days darken,
alien Martian,
a red desert the main and dessert,
silenced sounds sing "death surrounds",
as those spoiled souls
beneath the soil
follow for my blood sweat and toil.

No breeze, no trees,
an air so rough cut lungs bleed and breathe,
agitated rest that rages with stress,
no water to drink, no...

Morning Dawn's Conception
Useless desolation only mocks
implications the early morning dawn's conception.
Formed luscious curves and figures,
watching how quintessential nature lies.

Skies filled with dewdrops of angel tears,
hanging onto their salvation in fear.
Pent up tension borders this descent
pre-exist dawn in hollow borders round.
lingers in the picture it surrounds.

Confessional crescendo...

Heart Swallows Heart
Heart Swallows Heart

Heart swallows heart,
nerve ends quiver with the action of envelopment,
the movement is completed with sharp desire,
this mess of physicality craves for fullness.

Hand touches hand,
eclectic messages sent through waves connecting nerves,
it’s a hallway of bodies,
circuitous is...

Redeem Lost Souls
Condemn not victims programmed to devour, imbibe and assimilate beliefs, creeds, norms, mores and values that wipe away the compass of right and wrong, left and right, leaving victims in a state of arrested moral development and envelopment.

Help redeem souls lost in
the strong...

The Blackness
Frightful day, full of strain,
waiting, wondering, hoping,
clock watching, biding time.
Final word spoken.

The darkness did descend.
Lying in wait.
A wicked demon hibernating in my chest,
ready to devour life.
Awakening, identified by a slight thickness,
ever so slight.

Confirmed by rays of energy,
burnt onto a Plasticine membrane.
A plague of cells...

I wonder if salvation

[and ecologies of cooperative win/win forgiveness,
and political powers of health-trusting democracy,
and investment economies of mercy
beyond a capital self-investment monoculture]

Basking in privileged redemption economies
for chosen people only
can be therapeutically transformed
by inviting non-violent communication experiences

Of being compassionately heard
and steadfastly appreciated
For our most transparently...
