You try to entice me

With the smell of coffee and pancakes.

I bury my head deeper under the covers

And ignore your ploy.

Naked, I walk into the kitchen,

My turn to entice.

I run back to the bed and dive beneath the covers,

Giggling.

The pancakes are cold,

I win.

Premium Member While I Gaze In Your Eyes

While I gaze in your eyes, cool cerulean blue,
Sifting night, straining stars through morning’s sweet dew,
I can fathom the depths of empyreal skies,
Angels fluttering by, riding wild butterflies

While I gaze in your eyes, changing, aqua-blue greening,
I’m sucked into chasms, cascading, careening,
And yield to enticements which meekly disarm,
Seeping virtuous beauty, sad sensuous charm

While I gaze in your eyes, bleeding fiery blue
Ever tempting with treasures, with pleasures for two,
Being caught at the core of a blazing sapphire
Possessing, enthralling, aflame with desire

While I gaze in your eyes, misty emeralds, deep green,
Veiling laughter and banter, and echoes between,
Then I dream, so it seems, in whatever the place,
Of your scent, of your breath, of your radiant face

While I gaze in your eyes, at times placidly blue,
Near’ as calm as the weirs in the woods all bedewed,
Forty winks relegate to a shimmering lake,
Gently floating on lilies, while waiting to wake

While I gaze in your eyes, caught engulfed in the greens
And consigning my fate unto verdant ravines,
My reactions, at length, become shyer and shyer
Reminiscent of ravens at risk in the briar

While I gaze in your eyes, restless, hesitant blues
Overwhelming sensations with turbulent hues,
I’m succumbing to waves of a storm battered sea,
Being cast like a plank, never meant to be free

While I gaze in your eyes, shadowed, Midnight Lake green
Glowing hazy with dreams, misty thoughts so serene,
Sudden silence befalls me, a fast sinking stone,
Looming lost in your eyes, I am never alone

While I gaze in your eyes, saddened, lachrymal blue,
Spilling trickles of rain, pearls obscuring your view,
I’ll attend to your anguish and feelings morose,
Lightly kissing your tears, touching, holding you close

While I gaze in your eyes, pulsing infinite green
Of the earth and of heaven and all in between,
It is simple to see that my hands can hold all
Of the treasures I find which so humbly enthral

While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re bountifully blue,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning is granted to few...

While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re blindingly green,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning cannot be foreseen...

Yet I hope... and I wait...

Premium Member Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time (Templates)

Once upon a time
a lonely girl neglected
worked among the cinders,
then with a pumpkin changed
and danced all night, the beauty of the ball.

A beast became a prince.
A fair one, raven-haired,
bit into an apple,
then lay inside a coffin
to waken later with a single kiss.

Plots of sugar spun
meant for our amusement
were taken as didactic;
as visions of a bliss;
for some, like me, as templates for romance.

A frog is still a frog.
A girl who is mistreated
might end up on the streets.
Transformed into a junkie,
she turns into a hooker for her john.

A beast remains a beast.
A girl might pose as blonde
and taste of life’s enticements;
then settle on one lover,
to languorously waken to her dawns.

Modern human tales
scatter my illusions.
As skin neath eyes start sagging,
can hope remain unflagging
as time so quickly leaves us all undone?

THE HOUSE OF MIRRORS

Come one, come all to the fabulous House of Mirrors,
Souls and the soulless, all are Welcome here in these
Reflective cell prisms.
Enticements glass thunder dome, clear crystalline panes,
Shimmering in the well-lit maze of illusionary frames, of
Reality or fantasy!
The ring master a little man of slight size,
Stands upon a wooden crate, directing the flow
Of humanity’s human fright seekers, one thin dime
He so yells for the fear factor of a life time,
Come one, come all, to the fun house
Of reflections living nightmares!
A ticket taker hidden within a glass box,
Appears out of thin air, a wax figure Gypsy
Woman dressed in satin silks dirty rags,
Laughingly rocks back and forth, as you
Place your dime into her wooden box
Stall, and a golden ticket pops outwardly
As each person prepares themselves to go in,
This funfairs torture chamber of glass!
One by one, a single being enters,
As a sliding pane slams shut behind them,
Curves, illusions and convictions of delusions,
Confuse the individuality of each patron within
This side show of self-realization, as eerie
Music and bodiless screams echo, throughout
This crystal palace of icy fear!
Corporal phantoms slide from panel to panel,
Leaping behind the terrified guests, deadened
Jackals of the afterlife, relishing in the tormented
Screams of those held captive within this
Mirrored house of horrors!
Hands at the glass press in panic, trying to
Find their way out to sanities realm of reality,
But with each pane exposes their inner fear
Until their heartbeats trobe against
Their chest, and their nails scratch at the
Fragile glass cutting it so thin it shatters
At last!
Suddenly outside the roped lines, these
Terrified customers of evil’s displaced,
Find themselves freed from the spell
Of invocation’s demonic force of this
The devils carnival house of Mirrored glass!

Donor Cozeners
            by Odin Roark

Seduction eased into town long ago,
Thought to be natural.
It was
Praised as stability,
It was
Embraced as destiny,
It was…

Procreation ruled the nights,
Delivery rooms the days,
Time passed and like flies to a sugar fix,
Victory swarmed
Bank tellers on payday,
Local bars on Friday night,
Churches on Sunday.

Workweek habits continued,
Sexual harassment ‘round the water cooler,
Ass kissing ‘round the bosses,
Entitlement ‘round the calling-in-sick phone.

Then something happened.

Times got rough,
Unemployment rose,
Businesses shut down,
Preachers sought donations elsewhere,
Enticement stumbled out of town.

Darkness lured memories of enticements,
Cob webs hung furtively,
Tying unlit lamp post to shattered neon signs,
Side streets to alleyways,
Locked doors to broken windows.

Summer storms passed over,
Leaving muddy puddles,
Their rippled reflections
But gurgling echoes to the moon.
Goodbye waves of regret.

Today…

Not far down the road,
A new infestation of passionless hunters
Perfect their duplicitous smiles,
Awaiting yet another bounty of ignorance
For buying into the inducement
Of both flight
And fright,
Believing this,
Believing that,
Unaware that allurement
Is barbed with many disguises.

Hopefully…

Conscience will remain conscious
Never forgetting that on a clear night,
Or a dew covered sunrise,
Deception’s abalone color
Will flicker from the incandescence of
Beguilement’s lure,
Turning tomorrow’s entrapment of dreams,
Like the broken wings of flies,
Fractured rainbows are sucked
Into the black hole of deceit.

Premium Member Trap In a Choice -

You have stained stars in your eyes tonight,
a gold glitter asunder as vast as any Past
stuck fast on this moon light sight,
give me softly the sultry sigh of a woman's strong age,
I am not passing the page until the dire of dawn ushers me to the cage,
twinkles and sprinkles make for the tingles between you & I my Lady,
sparkles finite glow warm,
a silent swarm in thick air for our remote melody,
starvations lead to ovations from humbled hearts
searching blind for succulent cures
for a mad malady,
a kiss, calm as crystal and firm
like a promise pronounced proud
by a dreamy lover drives me happy,

My love, where are your f---ing fangs & whispy wings,
clever you are, like fire on ice,
playing nice but in disguise
choosing random nights,
a fickle nightingale setting sail to numerous posts and ports,
swift as thunder with brief endearings,
vanishing like a whisk whisper
and laughing lovingly,sparingly spry,
the companionship provided is priceless
with a somber cost,
a Providential promiscuity true & dry,
your absence and unpredictability
feeling cold as Aphrodite's icon
rough & rocky,
would Venus die, cry, or lie
if asked ardently why
She consumes the blood of my heart,
pitfalls for passions, enticements for indictments of innocence,
woman this carnival shocks me silly,
never the less, the beauty of you is boundless,
consequence forever in a lingering fragrence,
like a confused comet
I volunteered my vitality for your invitation
to a sheltered rampart,
deny me what you will, charge me as much you can,
for I am enthralled
by this romance and Virtuoso's dance -

Premium Member By the Power of the Lord

By the Lord’s power, buttressed by His authority
We can subdue our own carnality
Toward righteous walk exemplifying genuine spirituality
While consecrated through His holiness’ beauty
Overcoming enticements of lustful vanity
Relying in His Word’s infallibility
Highlighting divine integrity
Having been redeemed by His grace of compassion-bounty.

Through the Lord’s omnipotent tenacity
We can vanquish selfishness’ futility
Toward joyous service of sweet tranquility
While yielded to His guidance along wisdom-certainty
Learning from Christ’s meekness and humility
Praying with fervency, casting to Him every anxiety
Being upheld against deceit and falsity
Having been strengthened* by His truth’s immutability.

I Do Not Know You

I do not know them.
Yet I have glimpsed their souls,
felt the heat of their passion,
plunged deeply in their despair,
basked laughingly in their humor,
held back tears in their shared pain.

I see their Avatars.
Faces that tell me only
who they were, who they
may have been in the process
of becoming who they are;
those who share themselves
in avatar anonymity.

Enmeshed in this cauldron of creativity,
this poetically bubbling soup
of ideas, thoughts, challenges,
enticements, coming to know
the poets - and the poetry
of their lives.

We pass each day, never making eye contact,
sharing stories, memories, doubts, fears,
reaching with our words to comfort,
to inspire, to soothe, to support,
to read, to write, to participate
in the poetry of living.

I do not know you.
Yet I have glimpsed your soul.

Descending,
I manipulate and manoeuvre for the updraft
  Spluttering,
I spiral down, then briefly up again, to glimpse a glowing sky
  Flapping,
  I fall forever faster, flat-eagled
  Plunging,
I watch the unwelcome gloom envelope my horizon
  Tumbling,
I twist, turn and turbulate, ... then the thudding thump
  Gasping,
I groan and exhale, a noiseless moan
  Curling,
I recoil as innards become outward form

  Emerging,
a base inside-out creature crawls and creeps
  Tasting,
the tongue-tied intestines and the unseeing socket eyes
  Groping,
a gruesome grub befriends the worm and slurps the slug-slime
  Engorging,
as flaunted members flail blood and flick licky, sticky fluid
  Reforming,
dim visions populate carnal shapes with awful movement
  Gaping,
a fearful half-formed and startled face averts its gaze
  Residing,
in deep gutter niches... these are my companion dwellers

  Wallowing,
I sniff a redolent upswell of dank fissured earth
  Disturbing,
I scrape, cleave and wipe away a smear of covering soil
  Trembling,
I sense a warmth of body, a stretching of exotic wings
  Enquiring,
I mutter clumsy overtures and crude enticements
  Retreating,
I hear unmistaken rebuke and a sigh of disappointment
  Imploring,
I elevate my utterances and seek a further hearing
  Caressing,
I feel a welcoming and forgiving response

  Pulsing,
the creature's cocoon gives way to nebulous female form
  Ascending,
at first a cherub woman smiles playfully down on me
  Transforming,
a stimulating and sensuous siren cavorts and teases
  Uplifting,
wings gather me in for a swooping flight of fancy
  Revealing,
from above, her intimate view of dwellers in the hinterland
  Coaxing,
she fills me now with empathy and understanding
  Alighting,
my body-mind lies prone beneath her

  Tingling,
I feel her form and thoughts slowly enter and encompass me
  Exploring,
I arouse and we gently probe between lips and sphincter
  Delving,
I follow our rhythm of kiss, taste, touch and thrust
  Wandering,
I experience our ambiguous male and female desire
  Playing,
I laugh at how we tickle our innocence and sophistication
  Loving,
I know for delirious moments what it is to be another
  Consumed,
lost in coexistence with a like- but more extraordinary- mind

Esteem and Flattery

Respect sets the stage for love’s serge.
Where, esteem and flattery merge.
Infatuation births passions.
Self worth overcomes excitements
And casts off mundane enticements.
Integrity stays emotions.
Respect sets the stage for love’s serge.
Where, esteem and flattery merge.
Hold firm to dreams of tomorrow.
Meet not emotional sorrow.
Infatuation births passions.
Integrity stays emotions.
Respect sets the stage for love’s serge.
Where esteem and flattery merge.

The Peak Is Really Lonely

The Peak is Really Lonely

When my mind I unlocked inside to go to places unknown
On the wings of poesy, when my quill hungered for more
And more lyrics churning between pun and spin, more
And more into spheres of membranes hitherto unknown

To my conscious mind I uncovered, and wrote things unknown.
Oh, if imagination charted my ways into future more and more,
Memory of my cells pulled me into the minds more and more
Of my ancient ancestors, down, down into times unknown.

But between future enticements and past entitlements lost
I my fleeting present, and began to live only in my writing;
Where am I?
What am I?
And why does my family feel lonely?

‘What a beautiful mind!’
‘What a beautiful head, he has lost!’
Their laments are so silent, so away, away;
Still biting, still smiting,
My psyche with love;
Slowly, slowly, I feel the truth;
The peak is really lonely.

Sexual Enticements

Nasty and naughty suggestive and lewd
But I guess when it’s over you just might get screwed.
Male or female it’s anyone’s guess;
Waiting to catch me they give it their best
     Peaked through those windows but never went in;
It’s reflections of mirrors like self-prescribed sin.
     With my hands I hold money not grip at myself;
And that kind of thinking was felled behind shelves.
I’ve lived in the bedroom and danced to the beat;
And swam in Loves Rivers with the ladies I meet.
I lived it I ate it I drove it all night;
But I’ve never been desperate that’s just not right.
     I’ve hid around corners and ran for my life;
And I lost a good woman that once was my wife.
Disappointed some people been told I was bad
I’ve had my heart broken and life was so sad.
It’s been said not to get close I ‘m like something you catch;
Like a habit you can’t break an itch with a scratch.
Don’t try to entice me with kitty and ass;
I don’t even know you I think I will pass

Premium Member Ascent of Faith-Altitude

Almighty God, the supreme Father above
assures me, through Scriptures’ precepts, His divine affection
affirming His marvelous vibrant love’s abundance
always at work to grant pardon absolutely
and assuage my guilt-caused anguish*
as I confess my iniquities, spiritually atrocious…
along my heart’s repentant acquiescence.

Asserting His grace, at all times amazing
Author of my faith awakens me against arrogance-attack
accommodating me around His fellowship’s altar
auspicious --- according to sovereign mercy’s assistance
available to absolve my sin-wages’ affliction
already paid by Christ’s blood of efficacious atonement...
…acquitting me from eternal condemnation toward heavenly abode.

Alertly apprehended against selfish appetency
admonished soul of mine, accepting adversities' alarms
asks forgiveness after ardent admission
aware of worldly enticements that grievously allure
amidst appeasing ephemeral affinities, carnally awry;
abiding now in His will, I adore God, appreciating Him, gratefully awed…
…ascending toward blissful service of faith-altitude.

Grace

GRACE.

Grace is in what God does for you.
Giving this day’s moment in time.

Walking into the light of grace.
Knowing he is within you.

Is greater than our being.
For our belonging is in him.

His heavenly gates of love
Exceeding worldly enticements.

His deeds of love and kindness.
Bring fulfillment entwined

Beyond all imagination,
Is his peace and understanding

His omnipotence power surpasses
All In his abundant Love.
