F eeling enraptured, Autumn dances in the wind, then undresses.
A s bright robes fall to the ground, her passion paints the twilight skies.
L ike a nymph, she beckons, tossing her fiery auburn tresses.
L ongingly she sighs - September’s bliss lingering in her eyes.

I ndian summer days come; then they go.
N ights though chill, embrace her in indigo.

L ater, in November, her sweetness wanes.
O ctober cannot stay forever loving her.
V acantly she gazes through freezing rains.
E ndearments whispered - cease - when Fall loses ardor.

WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY ...

Having a hug - whether it is good times or bad
Allowing myself some free time to do what I want to do
Perfecting a poem to post on poetry soup
Planting seeds and watching them grow into beautiful flowers
Invitations to a special event such as a recent wedding we attended
Not having to get up early at the weekends!
Eating at my favourite restaurant with special friends
Seeing my son flourish at University
Spending time with family and friends

Off on holiday to distant shores
Feeling the sun on my skin

Lying back in a relaxing bubble bath at the end of a busy day
Indulging in a box of my favourite chocolates … mmmm
Finding out my husband’s cancer was cured – best day ever
Every morning I wake up to face a new day – that sure makes me happy!!!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Your Favorite Habit-Forming TV Show - Poetry Contest
Sponsor: Tom Quigley

Beneath the shadows Buffy prowls to use “Mr. Pointy” her favorite stake
Under the tunnels she finds the blood suckers and lives she does take
Falling in love with Angel who is a good vampire with an actual soul
Feeling compassion for the worst killer in history sure took a toll
Young love was found as he fell in deep love with her too

The bad thing is if he feels one moment of true joy they were through
He found that joy and became the evil man as he’s ever been
Everyone in Sunnydale became enemies of this once true friend

Vindictive by nature he traveled out and went on a killing spree
After a few weeks he found his way back to the arms of Buffy
Memories they share but they can no longer be together
Poor Buffy had hoped they would be soul-mate’s forever
In the cemetery is where her and the crew slays vampires
Revealing the madness of also sending them to hell by fire
Each of them help; Willow, Xander and her mentor Mr. Giles

Searching for ways to save the day they travel for many miles
Lurking in darkness, Spike, also known as “William the Bloody”,
Attacked and killed innocents for years, yet fell in love with Buffy
Yet another vampire in love with the enemy who won’t slay a friend
Every day preventing apocalypses while to hell vampires she did send
Regardless of the chaos and love triangles she saved the world in the end

Soul knowledge grown thru emotional searches
Eclipses vain ego perches attempts to take charge.
Living should be large from our soul’s core will,
Feeling joy thrill and pain spill, gilds soul’s sheaf.

Allow belief to trigger your spiritual agenda.
Cite déjà vu’s antenna as your eternal soul almanac
To map your experiences predetermined tract.
Ultimate feeling feedback pens your spiritual rondeau
And develops its flow to your truth knowledge area.
Live as the God of your criteria does to you reveal.
Increase your understanding, lest a dealing shanghai
Zealot such as fear, ego or greed tries to take your pizazz,
And stinking thinking unrhymes your soul’s stanza.
Take time to contemplate coolly and truly think about
Iambic thought perfection to sprout your spiritual illuminati.
Oblige the soul-memo heavenly angels constantly demo,
Nudging the human faithful to spirit freedom in Eden.

Beautiful and kind
Rare like an unusual find
Easy to love, like a dove
Amazing as a miracle from above
Talented in heart and soul
Hoping to make you whole

Opening doors that were closed
Feeling like a song being composed

Healing the worry and strife
Over pain and on to a new life
Promising hope, faith and love
Endlessly inspiring all you think of

L ittle space is there on the edge of smallest branch for your nest, yet your family seems to be enjoying out there, without any quarrel or any violence.

M e and other birds alike, said the bird, we find stability, in the swinging branches and the leaves that the tree and nature provide; through which rays of sun beam life to us; we shed our day's tiredness in nature's lap, in the evening when stars are bright, they ensure our future well being at all times.

N ot aware of your destiny, continued the bird,

Like a Star In the Sky

L-ike a star in the sky
Y-ou're shining in the night;
N-everending gleam makes space a dancing light.

H-igh above the clouds,
O-ver the midnight moon;

Spring Is Coming Soon

Sweet you look in warm rain
Peeling the soil for chocolate chains
Recalling Vincent van Gogh
Inklings of green mailbox
Nestling molecules of paradise
Greeting us in the melting ice

In the flute of your green wood
Soft Grosbeak in the neighborhood

Comely you look
Oomph in your brook
Mystic whisper in the air on your moonflowers
Images of dreamy hours
Nectarous noise in our hemoglobin
Green and pink touches you offer umpteen

Shadows of your strawberry stories
Oleander glories
Open the boat’s door
No more desolation, quick pulse of footfall in the silken shore

Tormentor

Feeling puffed up in your chest
At the fruits of my design.
Let them think what I've expressed
Somehow, even at my best,
Exists as your art—not as mine.

Pat my head and all the while,
Realize it's not your work;
It has always been your style.
Disingenuously smile—
Egotistic, selfish jerk!
