Methinks Mine Earlier Rhyme Came Across Desperate...
For Hard Cold Cash

This small medium at large
kibitzer did appear
more brash (albeit) poetically,
and insinuate with soft pedal blare
perhaps at the expense of dare
ring to losing followers, this crash
test dummies star performer
did not mean to ensnare,

perhaps hypnotically tugged
heartstrings with his flair
analogous to birds eye glare
ruffling tail feathers of
a frosty buoy hoar gull (hare
reed) loon seething with hormonal
secretion and the brink to engineer
foolproof mating elaborate fanfare,

when bytes of my obviously clear
expression to succor minted heir
to a fortune (courtesy
anonymous philanthropist), now leer
re: asper point blank plea
for wads of moolah, but mere
lee issuing agitation where
substantial outlay to repair

(passenger side rear)
brake assembly, the automotive
technician espied situation where,
abrasion and erosion clear
as day, which critical assessment
warranted me to declare
an immediate affirmative
decision, which near
broke ma stainless steel piggy bank

to tune of six hundred bucks - hair
reed, an understatement, almost near
lee six months to the day, a prior reap
pair cost similar dollar figure,
which even at present
found yours truly still in despair,
then only to experience,
sans "FAKE" foreseer

(as ordained by Oracle
of Delphi) despite prayer
for me to vouchsafe share
ring at least one daily
compliment to the missus - neh veer

being privy (during our
twenty second plus year)
of whetted bull
lust stick missile exchanges, there
came shortfall of forced favorable blare
ring of said utterenced, thus superstition
an ugly head didst rear.

A Young Life Perished, Earlier Today

There was a thing rolling on the corner of the street
Round, hairy, small, but not hard to notice
And a body, lying faced down on the corner of the street
So fragile, so young, so small, hard to miss.
I heard the scream of a woman, and sounds of fight
But there was nothing able to stop such a blight

That man with a butcher knife, heartless
Faking a good intention to carry out his terrible deed
Such a chance for him, so divine
A young life perished in his hand, an eerie demise
Gave him the illusion of being a god
Tasteless, lifeless, merciless, nothing can stop.

Blood dripping, broken hearts.

I looked again, with curiosity
My heart began to break
After witnessed such an atrocity

A young life had perished
Earlier today, on the corner of the street
This world will never forget, will never forgive
Little light bulb, may you rest in peace.

If I Were To Meet An Earlier Version of Me

Doubtful at times, an optimist by nature,
Proud of these times yet disappointment is never a stranger,
The tears that left my eyes mellowed the laughters that burst me into life,
The wrongs I did, corrected my survival to thrive,

Those screams left me out of breath,
Emptied my chest so I can deeply inhale,
Life will shortly be accompanied by Death,
For it makes Now my Holy Grail,

Scars beautify the memories of pain,
Wrinkles worn from the bountiful smiles,
My limping stride a sign from times of strenuously drain,
Within an eventful passage that stretched out for miles.

The rain, the heat, the snow, the sand,
The lightnings, the thunders, the winds and the dust,
My yellow fingers upon these dirty rough hands,
Have tasted frailty and iron that rust,

Abandoned the abundance, brewing the few,
Popularity never requires countless eyes,
Love and lost till only Love is due,
Temples and mosques, it lies in surprise,

The impossible will rationalise,
The illogical lies within the wise,
Accept the expected dwelling in surprise,
Refusing the shuffle and controlling the dice,

Endless new possibility should come around,
If I advised you to change the ways and days that are bound,
Though somehow, these changes will only change the profound,
I will rather keep these memories, smile and walk away.
If I were to meet an earlier version of me one day.

I Earlier Saw

I earlier saw a pixie,
small and pointy, thin
and cute, but the People
sauntered freely as
they crushed it
with their boot.

I later saw a mushroom,
home to many tiny things,
but the People, hardly seeing,
took the ground when
they had wings.

Just then, I heard bright
laughter, sounds of sparkling
chandeliers, but the People
liked pop music, poorly chosen,
for their ears.

I finally ceased my hearing,
shut my eyes so I fit in,
became one of the People
who crush pixies thick and thin,
those People, treading lightly
as they burrow in their screens,
People who have no idea
what any of this means.

Obama Has No Coconuts - Revised From Earlier Version

I've watched this bum that some call President - Commander In Chief,

He made dozens of promises during his first campaign and none he did keep,

Promised "CHANGE" on a grand scale and has only made this country worse,

And if you carefully look at his overall record can only be described as
perverse,

War, terrorist plane crashes and illegal aliens by the train loads break our
laws,

While this pompous fool flies the USA collecting funds for his empty lying
cause,

This arrogant man is a flat out disgrace to both his White and African heritage,

When confronted with facing his rivals this no gonads leader cowers in his
cage,

Imprisoned by an overblown ego thinking he can simply ignore his
counterparts,

A failure in so many ways it boggles a mind how so many voters had no
smarts,

Electing for the second time a low IQ Harvard graduate fooling lots of old
farts,

So please Lord deliver us all from this despot before our freedom departs.

Rebuttal To a Poem Posted Earlier

I can't help but find it ridiculously absurd
when people call Biden a liar and a fraud
yet believe Trump is truthful with his word.
Cheering his fictitious claims, they applaud!

That man has spun so many webs of lies,
that he has to tell more to cover his butt.
Blaming others for everything, using alibis
that are nothing more than ludicrous smut.

It's not our Democracy that has failed,
but narcissists who want to act like a king.
He's the guilty one who should be jailed.
Alcatraz is closed, but what about Sing Sing?

I had no intention of being political again,
but sometimes lines are written that irk me.
I've no political affiliation, but I won't abstain
when some wing nut is on an anti-Biden spree.

The claim seems to be that Biden likes to rant
but who bellows and rages more than Trump?
It befuddles my mind, and I swear I just can't
comprehend why they defend that ogre's rump.

Snow Showers Earlier Today December 9th 2020 Yielded Negligible Accumulation

Snow showers earlier today December 9th, 2020 yielded negligible accumulation

Though anyone who saw
and/or watched local news would be more wise
the brief flurry of crystalline precipitation
came as a complete surprise,
cuz yours truly prefers
getting strangled courtesy neckties
versus being given spoiler alert
subsequently forced to give reciprocal highfives.

I generally skirt tracking the weather,
nevertheless the missus would pantomime,
née blurts out with glee
meteorological conditions occurring here
out the skies above second Street
within Schwenksville, Pennsylvania.

No rhyme nor reason prevails
necessitating yours truly to hear and/or see
what mother nature doth hold in store
concerning (Delaware, Chester,
and Montgomery) tri county locale
sometimes loosely referred to
as comprising Delaware Valley

a geographical area coterminous with
metropolitan statistical area (MSA)
and broader combined statistical area (CSA),
and composed of counties located in
Southeastern Pennsylvania, South Jersey,
Delaware, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

As a lifetime resident - 19473 zip code
regarding aforementioned place name,
I can ofttimes intimate
how the forecast will bode
especially if adequate hours spent outdoors,

more so when yours truly
lived at 3224 Level Road
which less likely as ole man winter
huffs and puffs with braggadocio
rarely ripping, riffing, and riding
piggyback with nor'easter.

Interestingly enough global warming
affected dramatic climate change
during course of mine lifetime,
where Currier and Ives rural
linkedin with good n plenti grange,
where agrarian lifestyle might seem strange
to urban outfitters constituting population.

Truth be told, I fondly remember those days of yore
when countless unbroken acres of greenery
whereat in Arcola a cider mill vestige
of American/British Revolutionary War
perhaps e'en centuries before frequented by troubadour
named Shakespeare, quite sad

to narrate hundreds of years postwar
(meaning that brouhaha incorporating
Declaration of Independence)
long since derelict and sold
possibly by family with surname Knorr,
(methinks his first name Ignoramus nickname Ig)
who strongly exhibited demeanor of Eeyore.

Earlier Days
Written: by Tom Wright
7-19-2016

The sweet scent of remembrance,
Alternates between past and present;
As I summon thoughts of youth,
When time was ours,

I stare at images of life, as two, united.
Understanding that,
The years can never be reclaimed,
Just remembered;

Earlier

I haven’t heard the songs yet
But the trees are out for sale.
The autumn goods are off the shelves
And winter scenes prevail.

The stores are filled with ornaments
And ads are pushing toys.
Salvation Army bells will soon
Compete with city noise.

It seems that every year
The Christmas season gets here earlier,
Resulting in a population
Grouchier and surlier.

Christmas is Coming Earlier
By Franklin Price
11/24/2016

Christmas is coming earlier
Most each and every year
Black Friday defined the movement
Made commercialism clear

If we keep advancing
When the Christmas season starts
We will soon be back to Easter
And all that that imparts

Maybe the Easter Bunny
Could help deliver all the toys
Making Santa's job less hectic
To get to all the girls and boys

Would have to change the mindset
Of that harbinger of Spring
To forget about the Easter Eggs
And not hide the toys to bring

Dusk Dawns Noticeably Earlier Each Night In Schwenksville, Pennsylvania Yup

Dusk dawns noticeably earlier each night in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania - yup

Which trend will continue some days before
winter solstice 2021 in Northern Hemisphere,
Tuesday, December 21 10:58 AM.
Yes, interestingly enough earliest sunset date(s)
along eastern United States
will occur December 7 and 8, 2021 at 4:28 pm EST.

Similar respective phenomena
takes place across globe.

Winter solstice constitutes
shortest day of the year in terms of daylight,
but does not have latest sunrise
nor earliest sunset of the year.

This prevails because discrepancy exists
between modern-day timekeeping methods
and how time is measured
using the Sun known as the equation of time.

The equation of time comprises
east or west component of the analemma,
a curve representing angular offset of the Sun
from its mean position on celestial sphere
as viewed from Earth.

I thoroughly enjoy onset of early darkness
unperturbed courtesy
seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

Alas and alack
matter of fact yours truly
optimally thrives when pitch black
skies immerse bookworm as impetus to crack
open a novel and/or read
one of my favorite (MAD) magazines
versus basking in sunshine which doth distract,
thus I while away hours appeasing
sixty plus shades of gray (cerebral) matter

processing criteria at greased lightning speed
considerably faster than once
venerably touted supreme ENIAC,
whereby mine figurative pistons
incalculably subvert additional
superfluous irrelevant flack
spurring me to burrow
deep inside invisible gunnysack
cause ordinary stress I could not hack

conveniently latched onto
ninety sixties counterculture mantra
"turn on, tune in, drop out"
popularized by Timothy Leary in 1966
essentially only in body not spirit
throughout academic foray,
I occupied space and time
paid dear price, cuz
submissive behavior heavily did impact

writer of these words a jejune Jack,
who during formative years
never dated, nor got jilted
cuz he possessed
unquestioned unhealthy uncanny
fealty and deadly eating disorder
body dysmorphia knack
positive image of self I lack,
an existence punctuated
by one after another panic attack.

I Left the Convention Earlier This Year First Time

only the mind can stop gravity
the rotation of the planet and the seasons
when an event infects its knife in your flesh
and you look from you to yourself

you see nothing
mirrors are broken
the world is opaque
or maybe it
only now comes to mind

in chaos you returned
waiting for nothing to age
to die
to become something else
the first sign of life
another life

You have no idea

the landmarks hid their grief
the manipulation of matter has ceased
the clock stopped
you are in the middle of the balance
no gesture infulges with the expression of a breath
no matter how small
the meaning

you are the point that can start downwards sideways
you are something that is no longer
but what matters
in the morning you take it from the end
and thus you notice that
even the point is a planet
with the girls exposed to a star
today
I am the electron that runs on a weak path
I do not know if I will fly into nothingness
or I'll stay in orbit
glad
of the attraction of my old star
the unknown nucleus

Sunday Poem Earlier Than Usual

H Holy Spirit, have Thy Way in me as much as with
O Others
L Loving Thee, we love Jesus: no difference, other than He was man
Y YOU ARE

S SPIRIT
P Please may I never grieve Thee, Spirit of God, Spirit of God's Holiness
I In Thee, Jesus gave us all we need in a world in love with itself
R Recalling at dawn I saw the great white owl, on the next roof
I I saw the clouds like mist around the moon, a bride. I, a bride of Christ
T Thank U for Church - human believers - is the Church, the Bride He died for ...

shalom, shalom. (Do visit a church, Bible-Teaching Church, it is His commandment per Hebrews 10:25. WE pray alone but in Community, too)
