If I Were To Meet An Earlier Version of Me
Doubtful at times, an optimist by nature,
Proud of these times yet disappointment is never a stranger,
The tears that left my eyes mellowed the laughters that burst me into life,
The wrongs I did, corrected my survival to thrive,
Those screams left me out of breath,
Emptied my chest so I can deeply inhale,
Life will shortly be accompanied by Death,
For it makes Now my Holy Grail,
Scars beautify the memories of pain,
Wrinkles worn from the bountiful smiles,
My limping stride a sign from times of strenuously drain,
Within an eventful passage that stretched out for miles.
The rain, the heat, the snow, the sand,
The lightnings, the thunders, the winds and the dust,
My yellow fingers upon these dirty rough hands,
Have tasted frailty and iron that rust,
Abandoned the abundance, brewing the few,
Popularity never requires countless eyes,
Love and lost till only Love is due,
Temples and mosques, it lies in surprise,
The impossible will rationalise,
The illogical lies within the wise,
Accept the expected dwelling in surprise,
Refusing the shuffle and controlling the dice,
Endless new possibility should come around,
If I advised you to change the ways and days that are bound,
Though somehow, these changes will only change the profound,
I will rather keep these memories, smile and walk away.
If I were to meet an earlier version of me one day.
