Best Dungeon Poems
Within the dungeon’s darkest depths,
Prisoners lay dreaming,
Of families, and destinies,
And Devine redeeming.
Illusions fill their mortal eyes,
As the vision shapes them.
The dungeon is not what it seems,
And the truth escapes them.
They cannot see beyond their cage,
This place is all they know.
A deception of perception,
That claimed them long ago.
This dungeon has fulfilled their needs,
Fantasies belay them.
They are convinced by what they see,
Their senses betray them.
Reality has been explained
To their satisfaction.
What’s not perceived is not believed,
And holds no attraction.
What they behold is all they know,
Images control them.
There’s comfort ‘neath the camouflage,
Assumptions console them.
But if they cannot see the sun,
Does that mean it’s not there?
What is concealed will be revealed,
When time is brought to bear.
And when the dungeon is no more,
Truth will not evade them.
Though prisoners will see it then;
It may not persuade them.
The truth can be a painful thing
For one who flees the light.
And so they rage within their cage,
In blindness they unite.
And they shall crumble with the dream,
Deceit will enslave them.
For if they will not leave the cage,
The truth cannot save them.
I showed you inner sanctum of my heart
where truth and fantasy together lie
My scented rhymes were lover's guide and chart
unlocked my treasures were to searching eye
I showed you every splendor tinged in gold
a place were luxury was redefined
your hands I filled with more than you could hold
with chords of silken dreams I wished to bind
I sated you on Oriental sweets
and played the mistress to your every whim
into your craving mouth I placed my treats
so that your blazing love would never dim
But once you had your fill, my heart you left
A dungeon dark and dank of love bereft
Eileen
Mounted on his noble steed,
No taller than the tallest weed.
Prepared and ready for the plunge,
Protected from any type of grunge.
Staring down a darkened cave,
Deep inside him feeling brave.
Blood flowing straight to his head,
Making it swell and turning it red.
He doesn’t know how long he’ll last,
He’s sure he’ll make it with his class.
In he dives into this hole,
Making sure he fulfills his role.
Jumping out to catch some air,
Sweat pours and dampens his hair.
In he dives yet again,
Trying to perform like other men.
The climax now just in sight,
As he spits and spews up white.
Tired and done from all the fun,
Feeling good and not outdone.
Get your mind out of the gutter,
I speak of a Halfling whose name is Cutter.
Nobile steed a riding dog,
riding through the morning fog.
Fighting goblins in a cave,
trying to prove he is brave.
Now read this poem again my friend,
And do your best to comprehend.
The truth is not what’s in your mind,
Just natural thinking of mankind.

O Catie love ye do ask too much of a poor scribbling poet to ask him to
open the doors so ye can view the terrible thing he knows himself to be.
All men and mayhap women too know what terrors hide behind our own locked
doors. Yet still ye ask, so very well, I'll unbolt the door to allow ye to peer with-
in if ye are so inclined. I for one have seen inside and know what a putrid slice
of humanity I am and how I revel in the darkness when drunkeness or pain or even
simply living allows those fetid shutters to slip and let me see. I speak not of evil
deeds I have performed nor of any punishment I fear for these foul perfomances,
but of the satisfaction felt when the girl who wouldna dance with me is paralysed in
a car wreck or when my old boss hangs himself after going bankrupt. These
thoughts and others like them and worse I have imprisoned herein. Because these
things hang festering like buboes on my soul ready to rupture and allow their
stinking pus to flow, I cannae further go. Still here be the key for ye to use if ye still
wish to see. I ask only that ye dinna remove my chance to suicide but leaved it
within and bring it not into the light. I dinna believe we'll like each other after but I
will understand if ye wish not to bear my company more. This key and my love as my
friend are all I have to gie thee. Pray, use both well.
Like in a dungeon we live,
Full of dissatisfaction and high charges of stuff
With no sign of reduction but expansion
As if we were victims of famine
In a famished land.
The rainbows of intercession speak not,
And the markets, missing their right positions;
In our little wages we battle with the economy
But it seems it's overcoming us
Starve! Starve!! Starve!!!
We the people starve.
Our entrusted statesmen speak in silence;
And the self-absorbed merchants’ tradeoff
Harbours gossips in towns,
Leaders not knowing their fiats would fix some aspects.
Sometimes, we reason if for any cause to choose,
Or are there not scrupulous folks in the bar to judge?
Where are the representatives in parliament?
Because we are hungry and weary!
It has drowned us in the sea devoid of hope and confidence to live
For we are afraid to face the fate.
Starve! Starve!! Starve!!!
We the people starve.
O yes, we cry for a transformation
So that we can dance as a happy generation.
The economy has become tougher,
That if a head earns a thing— to feed his parts—
It'll be of no satisfaction.
Insomuch that this is happening, we are left with no good:
But some are seduced to unlawful acts;
While some are yet willing to chide till eternity.
If ethics drive into our predicament,
We shouldn't be starved.
Our need then calls for an earthly saviour
Who could buy us redemption
For we starve.
Starve! Starve!! Starve!!!
We the people starve.

" escape from the nightmares of yesterdays ... uphold the sublime ... SOAR ... FLY ! "
eyes were shut
head in bow
sitting in the rocking chair ...
DUSK - murky ... vague ... nestled with woe and a twilight dew
tears fell - as I sleep in my cradle's journey
~~~my CRIB of dreams
now,
I open my eyes,
the eyes of my frolicsome mind
I SPREAD my wings
FLIP it as possibly as I can
and vagabond over what is possible
I FLEW ... SOARED ... MANOEUVRE ... and STRAYED ~~~
abscond from the immeasurable humanly problems
flee from vast imperfections and life's stains and limits
escape from the TRUTH that everything ends in the same END
I went to nowhere and
voyaged over the atmospheric umbrella of reality ~
I FLEW ...
as I witnessed a new kingdom
a door of spectral hues of iridescence emerged from nowhere
I enter and amazed of what I see
my jaws dropped and eyes in bulge
pictures of gaiety visualized in clear images
reflections of the HIGHEST GOOD followed
enticing, alluring, enchanting
no words came out
this is a realm of my powerful IMAGINATION'S LIMITLESS
a realm where there's perfection
realm where there's love, peace and freedom
realm of equality and just kingdom
a new world where there is a HAPPY ENDING
a world together with Cinderella,Snow White and Sleeping Beauty
a world of FAIRY TALES
a world sculpted by my "THIRD EYE"
a world painted by my mind's "DYE".
I want to live in this world~~~flew back in reality is now just a dream!
Dungeon
While Skye danced free among daisies and daffodils, cloaked in mink
Unwary daydreams of a princess in exuberance singing and dawdling
Damsel snatched in two hufflewinks and one rinkydink tiddlywink
The wicked sorceress on her fiercest dragon, captured Skye in a wink
In her darkened heart, how long she had dastardly been conniving
While Skye danced free among daisies and daffodils, cloaked in mink
Her militia of dragons, dragonflies and damselflies charging all in sync
There was no stonewalling the blackness of her conspiracy’s omening
Damsel snatched in two hufflewinks and one rinkydink tiddlywink
Into dragons’ deafening roar, shining knights’ bravery never to shrink
The king sent his valiant men to the rescue, daring courage unwavering
While Skye danced free among daisies and daffodils, cloaked in mink
The princess imprisoned in a godforsaken dungeon beyond the brink
Life far from wonderful in the land with no more laughter bellowing
Damsel snatched in two hufflewinks and one rinkydink tiddlywink
The whole kingdom in turmoil unable to rest, of sweet Skye they'd think
Life far from wonderful in the land with no more laughter bellowing
While Skye danced free among daisies and daffodils, cloaked in mink
Damsel snatched in two hufflewinks and one rinkydink tiddlywink
My mind,
Slippery slope,
Once in, hard to get out,
It is an enigma, beware...
Over square miles a unique surgeon
In the West African sub-region:
Clearly,the tower in their region;
Names of the other knives in dungeon...
"Daddy,will I ever be like John
Now and again in Germany's Bonn ?"
But surgeon is facing religion
And religion: "I'll defeat you, John:
For you,surely,coming with legion,
Which shall never fail to you bludgeon"
It's surgery for delivery
To The Church's Christ's needless mockery.
Where am I? Where has my vision brought?
Am I in the boundless horizon?
Or prisoned in my thought?
Is there a way out of this dungeon?
Countless are my profound accomplishments
From the pyramids to the modern skyscrapers and motorways
Faster than sound aeroplanes to rockets
Confined to material gain my endeavour stays
On the moral front, I have nothing to show
In my hardened heart prejudice and hatred abounds
Bigotry, racism, deceit and trickery grow
Lasciviousness, greed and lust surrounds
I know not the meaning of true happiness
To me life is meant for attainment of pleasures
Devoid I am of virtues of love and kindness
Civility and benevolence are forgone cultures
Have we rebuilt the tower of Babel
With weary words of wireless babble?
Do somnolent thoughts surf synapses
On tidal waves of vacuous verbs?
So tasteless, as baseless, and faceless
Secret voices clamor, “I am here”
In clusters of blabbing barnacles
Encrusted, agape, to the Internet.
Watchers, spectators doing little,
Chasing minutia ever fresh.
Turned into products; privacy shed
In a passive world of dungeon dead.
Endlessly griping over offense!
A cacophony of words intense.
If brevity is the soul of wit
How many tweets will create a twit?
Master and lord of his lands and his castle
He was graciously greeted wherever he`d travel
A man they thought they very well knew
But secrets he had more than just a few
His ordinary self blends in with others
A second look to take no one really bothers
But below the smiles secrets are hidden
His mind’s with a strange affliction smitten
Dark chambers, rooms lie beneath the surface
He built them with a specific, sinister purpose:
To hide prisoners from seeing the light of day,
To deny them life, and there`s more to say:
The prisoners were his blood, his own brood
For high society deemed to be too crude
Wild, untamed, and to their nature so true
From the public eye thus they withdrew
Their master, brother and father lives up above
Divided against himself, his life`s devoid of love
An empty shell, a painted vase, a facade he shows
Without his shadowy parts that`s all he is, he knows
So at night he visits the chambers by candlelight
And observes his dungeon of dreams with a clear sight
What power and sincerity, what elemental life-force
In a pretentious world how impossible to endorse
My mind is a slippery slope
Once in, it’s hard to get out,
Set in layers of intricate meshes
You’ll get entangled in my evil ways…
Beware, stay away!
In the dungeon of my human mind
conflicting notions you will undoubtably find
unanswered questions of life unwind
destroying peace, conflict entwined
Offense, defense, perpendicular or parallel
Stagnant memories that linger and swell
Tragedies that have befell
capsizing your internal be well
I offer my paradoxal thoughts to you O Lord
This isn't the vision I want to hoard
Grant me the wisdom often ignored
pick me up, take me aboard
A beautiful vessel granted to my outside human form
transcend my inner space where love abides as norm
In a world where hate is daily ingested
Keep my thoughts peacefully invested
When invaded by thoughts of anger and hate
By your grace guide them to quickly abate
Assist me dear Lord not to berate
Gently guide your love to saturate
Today I will be attentive to the songbirds tweet
Negative thoughts consequently delete
with a melodious song so sweet
In this fleeting moment I am complete
