Premium Member Now I Have a Driveway and I'Ve Discovered I Can Unlock the Car From Any Room In the House

it's brilliant
i'm writing this in the living room
and i can use the car key
to unlock the car from 'ere

i tried in the kitchen
i tried it on the stairs
i can hear it unlock as it beeps
and when it happens

i can hear liturgical chorals
native drumming
a giant plume
of emotional perception

i tried it in the upstairs wardrobe
i heard the car faintly unlock
my wife came home and found me crouched in there
there's been no fourth base since

Premium Member I'Ve Finally Discovered the Man of My Dreams

PLEASE READ MY COMMENTS 'ABOUT THIS POEM' POSTED ABOVE

Wow aren’t I a lucky lady, I’ve had a picture of the ‘man of my dreams’
I just had six on line messages from men I’ve never seen
The all have sent their picture they use a photo studio shot
Posing in their ‘military uniforms’ to try and prove they're hot

Gleaming white teeth and immaculate white suit
Gosh from their pictures they simply look so cute
Mmmmm ‘Officer and a Gentlemen’ he looks like Richard Gere
If I wasn’t a savvy lady my hubby he could fear

The next offer I couldn’t turn down was from a so called banker
Offering me riches beyond my wildest dreams he is a stupid prankster*
If I send him my bank details he will make very me rich
Don’t think I’ll take his kind offer I’m not a stupid witch*

I haven’t asked for their attention and I wish that it would cease
I just press the delete button, my bank account I don’t want fleeced
Yes I’m sure there are some really amazing people out there
But let common sense prevail, be aware and do take care

* I could think of other rhyming words to go here!

This, I'Ve Just Discovered

You constantly amaze me
And I want to walk up the steps of your palm
Into your cabin tips
I could watch the sun set in your eyes
In a room without doors or windows
You’re like a bedtime story told in a field to mice.
Every reaction you create becomes a dream in a billygoat’s mind
I want to holler on the cliff with you
In a sunset tree with you
While the fireflies bathe in our sweat with pine
Every stare you give me is popping with deer licks
Cat stretches wolf wounds and butterfly heart beats
You come to me like the smell of breakfast in the morning
Whenever I make you smile
I feel like a hairless dog in a hot spring
Being scrubbed with fresh sugar cane
My brain is a mall for the shopper cells
To buy beautiful gifts for the
Christmastime of You
My brain cells are ice cream balls
Rolling through a lime tart pinball machine
Where every time they hit popsicles
They fall apart into wished-upon stars
Baby ducks
Muffins in May
And Mary Magdalene’s eyes
All because of your windowsill butter words.
You are something to be thought of while on a mountain in the middle of nowhere
While eating a hot sandwich
Or seeing children on Michigan sand bars.
To hold your hand would be to wander into a peanut shell on a forest floor
You are a sad thought’s worst nightmare
Your laugh is a trip past Kentucky
Your hair is hot rain falling on the prairie
Your mind is a bowl of mixed grains
And I could watch you wake up like a child watches cookies baking in the oven
I could watch you eat like I really, truly love you.

This, I’ve just discovered.

Love Has Discovered a Nest

Love has discovered a nest
tepid with vivid unrest -
Laid his arrows and his bow
and his halo of sacred glow.

The entry he forgot to close,
That heart was set loose -
In the world it would be lost
Without his newfound host:

Another sleeper that arouse
After an extensive repose:
Love, that cherub so fickle,
Used a white feather to tickle…

A Discovered Strand of Hope

I can see you
 in my peripheral,
 hands move
 with steady ease
 completing their tasks,
 your body moves
 like a sturdy breeze
 making its way
 from there, to,
 I don’t know where.

And another piece
 of my substance,
 drains away...

I ache to reach out
 tracing the words
 and pictures
 rippling on your skin
 that reveal a story
 of our time,
 I want to memorize
 each line and curve
 in the tips
 of my fingers
 and rub them
 against my temples,
 to relive the journey

But another memory
 is lost and erased
 in the torment...

shaking,
 my lips fail to move
 with an answer
 to the question,
 the power
 of communication
 is slowly
 being downgraded
 and exchanged

And yet another day
 of living in silence
 commences...

now no longer
 in my peripheral,
 I am bereft
 and grieving,
 tossing my head
 in denial
 I rake my nails
 across my face,
 finally, I lay down
 in the valley
 of the dead,
 no longer fearing
 evil, I have become
 emptiness and sorrow
 my veil of sadness
 is catching the tears
 of the neverwas.

Another moment
 existing in the land
 of the living dead...

unraveling my mind
 unhitching my soul,
 you've unmade
 all there is of me
 I am unwinding
 unweaving, un-sewing,
 redeveloped into
 the unbecoming.

Another hour began
 sitting in the canyon
 watching a fall...

---

Much later,
in the corner of my eye
 a miracle lit a spark,
 it now smolders
 deep within my core
 and at will
 it is flaming free.

Another strand of hope
 has been cast,
 and it’s coiling inside me...

He'D Just Discovered Suspenders

No job
No prospects
No optimism
It took all his energy
Just to fake a smile
Health eroding
At the speed of light
His world grew smaller by the
second
Former small pleasures
Transformed into ambivalence
Blank and numb
He walked blindly
There were no solutions
To any of his problems
And then one day
Out of the clear blue sky
He smiled without effort
I even caught a glimmer
Of a spark in his eye
Life became a little more
pleasant
We all cheered him on silently
Me his number one fan.

As his confidence had
diminished
His gut had grown larger
He wore his belt below it
But his pants always slid down
Far enough to annoy him
Another problem
With no solution
One day, after months
With the spark in his eye
He chose to die
It was a shock because
He'd just discovered
suspenders.

Premium Member A Talent Discovered

The pink haired,
queen of the runway,
couldn’t handle
spiders in her boudoir.

When flying arachnid’s
trapeze was disrupted
for the fourth time;
arachnid moved into her
favorite hatbox and laid eggs.

Upon discovering the squatters,
Pink hair’s scream and subsequent faint,
sent eggs flying everywhere.

When she came around,
she quickly mastered…
tap dancing,
without one single lesson.

Premium Member I'Ve Discovered How 'Polly Ticks' Written With Lin Lane

Polly Wally waddles all day
She's running for office in LA
She wastes time doodling
Enjoys a daily noodling
But she never earns her pay

Polly Wally was once quite a looker
Before politics she worked as a hooker
Now she dresses with power
Doesn't get paid by the hour
Now she's aging no man would book her!

Collaboration with Lin Lane - Lin has chosen a different title for her poem
Which she has called Polly Wally Doodles

Today I Discovered

Today I discovered
That I’m not alone
I read of the pain
Other people have known.

The pain is different
Yet it’s still the same
Scarring each poet
That carries a name.

We live miles apart
Yet we share the same space
Writing words of emotion
That each of us can trace.

Each of us have lost
Something we treasure
But the pain of the memories
No words can measure.

Here at poetry soup
Together we become one
Sharing the stories
Our memories have spun.

Today I discovered
That I’m really not alone
My heart is touched
By the new friends I have known.

I would like to take the time to thank each and every one of you for your heartfelt
comments and the inspiration you have instilled into my life. You will never fully know
just how much each one of you mean to me! You make me smile; yet you make me cry. And
for the first time in my life--I feel like I am somebody--somebody that has a purpose. I
think of all of you as I work through the night; it not only makes the time go by faster
but it gives me a little spring in my step. I want each of you to know, that you are very
special to me; and because of you--I believe I can fly! God Bless all of you! Love, Deborah

Love Discovered

Ah my love discovered you have
What lays in chambers deep.
You found there buried deep.
A treasure many would not keep.
In your curiosity you wondered,
And saw, it intrigued you so,
You thought this love is of simple statue
Yes my love, this love is simple indeed.
But do not underestimate its power
For love as this is a treasure indeed.
And with finding this, you must understand
That MY love not only simple
Its divine......

You Might Not Know

The reality in the movie "Twister"
Of the frightening storms sound
Was the noise of a camels moan
That had been greatly slowed down

The idea of painting fingernails
We all have the Chinese to thank
Where the color of someones nails
Would indicate their social rank

James Madison the fourth president
For the U.S., was great all around
Although he Stood only five feet four
And weighed less than one hundred pounds

The canning process for herring
Developed by Sardinia teams
Might explain why canned herrings
are better known as Sardines

Premium Member What if, one day, you discovered that you no longer need to explain yourself to anyone

What if, one day, you discovered that you no longer need to explain yourself to anyone, for your soul has found peace, and words are just echoes of old insecurities, scattered in the wind like autumn leaves?
What if you could leave behind the burden of others' thoughts, ceasing to doubt yourself, knowing that you are already enough?
Imagine waking up and feeling freedom like a clear sky above your soul, without caring if others see in your life a vast universe or a barely visible star, without feeling the need to apologize for simply being who you are, a unique light.
But perhaps that day never fully arrives, perhaps you remain searching, carrying the burden like an old friend, waiting for that peace that always seems just a step away, like a horizon retreating before your steps, a dream of a day when you are completely yourself.
And yet, in this search, you find fragments of truth, each moment of doubt whispering that the journey is a part of you, that every step, whether light or heavy, brings you closer to that inner peace, where you are free to be, to feel, to dream.

Premium Member What Day Discovered

Day say
The night is too black
Nothing good would come of that
Sort of nada de nada es nada
Unsightly void.

They failed
Seeing
The night was empty of pollutants
From dawn of night's birth...
History, mystery, and strength
All of earth was embraced.

They needed strength
The night was ripe with sap
Soft drops quenched earth with dew
Quietly, day found solace
Twins Divinely given.
