Today I Discovered

Today I discovered That I’m not alone I read of the pain Other people have known. The pain is different Yet it’s still the same Scarring each poet That carries a name. We live miles apart Yet we share the same space Writing words of emotion That each of us can trace. Each of us have lost Something we treasure But the pain of the memories No words can measure. Here at poetry soup Together we become one Sharing the stories Our memories have spun. Today I discovered That I’m really not alone My heart is touched By the new friends I have known. I would like to take the time to thank each and every one of you for your heartfelt comments and the inspiration you have instilled into my life. You will never fully know just how much each one of you mean to me! You make me smile; yet you make me cry. And for the first time in my life--I feel like I am somebody--somebody that has a purpose. I think of all of you as I work through the night; it not only makes the time go by faster but it gives me a little spring in my step. I want each of you to know, that you are very special to me; and because of you--I believe I can fly! God Bless all of you! Love, Deborah
