Best Disbelieved Poems

Premium Member From Heart To Heart

Children placed in foster homes are
swiftly shuffled from heart to heart.
Breaking links in a chain of love;
goodbye; precedes every new start.

Wary eyes scan every fresh face,
trying to catch a glimpse of hope.
But intolerance and half-truths;
aggravates their plight, so they cope.

Love sounds like an empty promise;
delivered by a silver tongue.
For it's either misunderstood,
or disbelieved in hearts so young.

They've been suckled on hope and fear,
feelings felt from an early age.
And on realizing their fate,
they oft succumb to inner rage.

They remain undesirable
right up to their eighteenth birthday.
Upon which; labeled a burden,
they are abruptly sent away.

Premium Member The Sin of Unbelief

There was a time when I disbelieved
in the true sense of what it's to believe
I knew not of the true living God
in this state, my soul could only grieve

But God was faithful never giving up
revealing himself in the person of His Son
this son of God is revealed in holy writ
the Lord Jesus Christ the saviour bar none

I thank God for the conviction of my sin
in my heart thinking what can I do?
the gospel which I never had heard
then in the mid-20s I heard this is true

This was such a revelation to receive
realising to not believe brings death
needing spiritual birth to truly believe
God is sovereign even to our very breath

Now for 37 years, I've followed Jesus
the one who loves me fully without measure
He went to Calvary's cross paid for my sins
setting me free to believe on my treasure

Premium Member A Rose Is a Rose

Love in life is ill fated
beauty of love’s face often abated
a rose is a rose no matter the face pose
a rose in a garden is still a rose...

no face of love graced,
faces of life are strife laced
all wilted and covered with mildew
of Excellency of grace…
                                a rose often glows
                                in beauty of grace
                                beauty in a Greek nose
                                Love often shows...
though a rose is not a nose
nor is love the face pose
for life’s face
is not grace...

Love faced
is love graced
toward we quicken our pace
as we see in a dark mirror…
                                 light of beauty’s grace
                                 though no beauty in life’s race
                                 and a rose is a rose...
regardless of its pose
has a face…
                 Beauty Graced!
                 =========
Note: "It is my belief that everyone was created as Love, whatever
         condition that love might currently be in is simply a reflection
         of each person's wellness, his past choices, and his ability to
         deal with life. Often the inner power of love has been neglected,
         disbelieved, abused or denied. A rose in a garden is still a rose,
         even if it is wilted and cover with mildew. The weary and troubled
         faces you see around you are the faces of those whose love is
         broken or denied." 'LOVE WITHOUT END' by Glenda Green

Warm Milk and Cookies

deep down you want it to be different
you want to wake up in the morning with the evidence of your
imaginary friend
right there, in your hand, for all the world to see---
let’s not beat around the bush,
because we both know
you want to take that evidence & run to the top of every hill & proclaim to all those who
doubted &
disbelieved,
that yes,
it was all true & that he will be coming back soon,
just like he promised
(you want soooooo bad to rub our faces in it & subsequently watch us burn eternally in your “hell” for not going along with the rest of the sheep)
to kiss the heads of all the good little devotees who spent their whole lives
proselytizing in desperation,
waiting for a fictional character to come to life &
fulfill all the promises made in his name,
so that
everything will
finally
make sense.

i have put the toll house squares in the oven
(not gonna waste too much time on your comfort) &
set the milk on the stove at low heat---
now, promise me,
when your world comes crashing down & he doesn’t show,
don’t put the shotgun barrel in your mouth &
blast yourself till’ sunday---
instead,
have some warm milk & cookies &
cry the night away,
for in the morning it will all be better
without him.

Such a Tragedy

I hope you find my story life enhancing
About a man with elephantine thighs
When Twinkle-Toes O'Donnell started dancing
He chose a partner almost twice his size
The pair of them looked like two horses prancing
The judges simply disbelieved their eyes
But Twinkle-Toes and Daisy didn't care
They always held their heads up in the air

Each week they danced on Tuesday and on Friday
Rehearsing in between to get it right
They disregarded friends who asked them why they
Would waste their time together every night
Their sights were set on just one special high day
When they would step out dressed in black and white
For Twinkle-Toes and Daisy knew they'd share
The ribbon for the finest dancers there

To cheers all round they twirled like tiny fairies
These hippopotami of terpsichore
The style that wins a contest often varies
And dance like this was never seen before
The second best were dressed like two canaries
Our heroes danced these birdies off the floor
But Twinkle Toes and Daisy weren't aware
The balcony was unsupported T
                                            H
                                             E

Beloved, the Inevitable

Beloved, the Inevitable

Sky without the moon
Ring without the stone
Song without the melody
Garden without the rose
Shell without the pearl
Shelf without the books
Bottle without the perfume
Israel without Moses
Deserts without the sands
Monsoon with the rain
Body without the Heart
Leila without Majnun

Ah! I could imagine any such naught-
But world without Muhammad not!

This world is as good as naught
Had not his Light been naught

He is ultimate brick in the Tower of Life
He is the Gem in the Ocean of Existence

His is the light of my culture and nurture
His is the pen wherefrom comes my every letter

Love and its description is he
Life and its meaning is he

Flower and scent is he
Moon and its light is he

Science and its proof is he
Faith and its creed is he

Prayer and its answer is he
Power and its justice is he

Heart and its love is he
Eye and its vision is he

I and my good is he
I may be naught, not he!

In hell and heaven I’d disbelieved
Were it not told by His Beloved

Mistake not these lines as mine
The Tablet had it long ago written

I am only being just to myself
As I sing his song to others

Mombasa On My Mind

Six hundred and twenty kilometers we drove, all through the night to the quaint town of Mombasa. It had a feel of its own. A mix of Christians, Muslims, and agnostics. With 7 people squeezed into the car we went. Ten hours of potholes, baboons, and a flat tire to boot! We cared nothing for the misery we felt; we had a message to bring! We had a message of holiness and repentance. A message of the Return of the King. Yeshua had sent us and we were determined to deliver the message. Hearts were waiting for our arrival and the Holy Spirit joined us. We sang, we worshiped, and we shared testimonies of our faith. It was the most uplifting trip for the encouragement we brought to the other Christians.

We also had an unpleasant message to deliver as well. A message that stirred the hearts of the people in the small village we visited. The Lord Jesus Christ will bring destruction to this city after the rapture of the bride if the population doesn’t return to Him. He is the Lord God Almighty and He is the One Who controls everything. He is calling the city of Mombasa to return to their first love which is Him. He is calling them to repent and submit their lives to following the Christian principles in His Written Word.

I felt sad as we drove away from that city. I knew the Christians had much work to do in preparing the way for the coming of the Messiah. May they heed the call and begin the good work that we began in the little one-room home. Amen.

Mark 16:14-16
14Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.16"He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.…

Child In a Manger Crossed By All Danger

I, was slowly passing all open farms on rail;
The chugging kept me hugging, the little one so pale,
Her cough was loud, her cold was still a mess,while in my quest did tried my
best to hide the pain, that held her chest;
Alone, a man was standing, with smells of wickedness, his blood was cold,
his tone was soar with arms and limbs that dealt, a mighty blow;
For there he was a traveling tramp forcing his might on me;
A single hand that worked for me pulled out a single strand,he then,grabbed me by the hand;
the little child her cry was loud, my world was simply fouled, hapless in may stance,watched the man flash his hand & slap by the hand.
He stole my gold, even though I being so bold;
Cried aloud, I told the crowd to catch him by his brow but, no one knew how things would go and let him pass without a no;
My world was down and in my frown, I tried to hide my plight;
For, all I done was see my kin nestle her way to the nearby inn.
While aid would come and so be done our journey back in days within;
Relief it was in disbelief that lit my heart a part, for there it came in the form of a native who was totally disbelieved. On hearing my cry he offered his tie to help my little one fly !

This Is My Time!

My destiny..? is preordained & wont be denied
No matter how many times I fail, I gots to keep on trying!
I know...pressure can bust a pipe, but it also can make a diamond.
Enduring lifes' atrocities...gots me striving & shining.
Shining..?, only to be the best...that I truely can be.
Some talked down...some hated...but mostly?, they disbelieved!
As if I couldn't dream, & turn those dreams into a reality.
A man strenght can only be measured, if he over comes his adversities!
Over achiever?, yes!, cuz luck doesn't apply to me.
Becuz, I could've been a Bookie!, who was eradicated by life complacncies!
Wasn't me, so I chose another path.
But, in order to embrace my future?, I most 1st know my past.
The past of hurt!, destruction!, & drugs!
Some one tell me why?,
when black men get money we profess to be thugs!
Entities..? with out a cause, loving just to momentarily ball!
But, with no stability, it's a long , detrimental, & inevitable fall!
Acrophobia..?, we'll die before we hit ground!
Reflecting on our short comings, only to realize we were the ulimate clown!
Asking God to bless me, so I might be a blessing.
Can't forget where I come from, learning from my trials & tribulations.
Gotta be different!, choose a route that's never been chose.
Can't be of this world, yearning for snatch, cars, & clothes.
But, the road of knowledge, cuz I desire to win!
& sleeping on my dreams?, will be the climax of all my mortal sins!
Introspection...looking deep, only to see the real picture.
Praying to God as I take that 1st step, cuz I refuse to be a wisher.
Cuz, man might not get all that he pays for in life,
but he must pay for all that he gets.
& knowing that life don't give a squat about a brother,
motivates my spirit!
Motivation, desire, & plus with a dream.
knowing i'll over come:,
gots me feeling like Malcom Little & Dr. Martin Luther King!
Becuz, it's mind over matter & if I don't mine,
it shol doesn't matter.
Have you ever seen a brother come from nothing, make something,
& climb his way all the way up that tiresome ladder?
Well, it's a 1st time for every thing, & my gift..?, is truely my mind!
I'm claiming 2008, mark my words...This is My Time!!!

Faces of Lonliness

On that fateful dusky evening about an year ago,
My eyes disbelieved as they watched you fade away at a distance real slow.
My happy world crashed and fell apart,
I could never gauge that I would have to undergo this at the very start.
But somehow I believe that you knew this from the start,
If only, I could have warned my, now bruised heart.

That gloomy evening I watched until I could see no more,
You, your figure your form and body any more.
From its dwelled edifice, my soul,
Began to rip itself glowing like a burning charcoal.
Now aloof from me and its temple, my soul,
Could clearly see in place of my heart is left a dirge hole.

I began to gasp for air and breathe,
The aches and pain my skin it has learnt to sheath,
To release from within me a scream, a screech or a painful yell,
But they not, “faces of loneliness” hide or quench and quell?

My heart, mind, body and a homeless soul seek a place for them to hide,
But cruel fate has my life exposed and opened very wide.
My sulking tears their potent energy bust the rampart of my emotional dam,
To God almighty my plea is some solace that I seek to come upon and loneliness ban.

Premium Member The Real Existence of God

Mankind is filled with many beliefs
they would be sincere there's no doubt
but sincerity alone won't be enough
so life's so complex what's it all about?

One feels for that pagan so honest
but makes up a god all of their own
can such a god do anything for them?
where's the evidence? can it be shown?

Of course there on the other side
one who rejects God's evidence
despite the authority of God's word
in his own ability is his confidence

God is very big having real authority
He sent his son to buy real salvation
mankind needs to believe God's message
listen well to AW Tozer's quotation

The real existence of God
is in the heart of all His own
His love is full beyond measure
being truly their chief cornerstone

(Quote:
"I sympathize with the mood of the poet Wordsworth when he wrote to the effect that he would rather be a sincere pagan who believed in a god that did not exist than to be a sophisticated Christian who disbelieved in a God who did.")

Lucy

Joyful O joy excelling
Feeling filling lips exalting praise
May the heartens live in malaise
Gnash under the ravishing heat like a praise
To him to whom they live to relive
In destiny thwarted, forgotten to have ever lived
All ye praise to God to whom they disbelieve
His eyes see through the seething darting eyes of Lucy
The morning light, what a sly
His vain beauty lies a fly praise
That housed his beautiful ambiance holding His praise
To whom he disbelieved
 What a Shylock
How 'tis to see the fanning seething heat
Ice cold laugh Lucy enjoins his own
He knows he only needs more of them
As a company in his quest for destruction

Premium Member All That Tinsel

Colored lights draped over elaborate wire trees
   Festive wreaths dressed in ornaments to please
Christmas songs piped in, one after another
   Outside a bell-ringer chirps, Merry Xmas, brother

Yet nearly every guest room's empty
   Seems no one's checking in or out
No line at the front desk either
   There's hardly a soul about...

A hotel lobby's a lonely place Christmas Eve
   All that tinsel's a harlot's make-up, disbelieved

The Tower of Babel

God had directed man
To disperse throughout the earth,
But instead they built a city,
So Babel was given birth.
This magnificent tower
Reached way up to the heavens;
A monument of man’s power
For later generations.

The dwellers on the Plain of Shinar
Disbelieved God’s promise.
That He’d never send another flood;
The rainbow’s promise served this purpose.
In defiance they built the tower;
Complete rebellion reigned;
Lead them into idolatry,
For which Babel was famed.

All work came to a standstill;
Their languages God confounded.
Sent lightening from heaven;
The top of this tower grounded.
God scattered his people abroad
To stop the spirit of murmuring.
They hated their Creator
Who prevented their laboring.
In his wonderful mercy,
God destroyed the Babel Tower.
Instead of destroying His children,
He simply showed them his mighty power.
