Without Loving Memories Life Is Devoid
So your pretty face turned forty today
My how sweet time races far away
Give yourself a gift of love this way
and write in poetic verse and play!
Look back at the life you have enjoyed
The burning candles that lit your way
Without loving memories life is devoid
Have a blessed birthday I pray!

Good sir, for being close to me in age,
you know that we cannot forever be
age 40, but if we write poetry,
the chance is better we can live stress-free!
Let's play with words, with rhythm and with rhyme.
Life's candles that we lit have left a glow.
Our memories in poems live on through time,
and we might both be 90 for all they know!

This night of misery my essence rapidly descending
Tears like summer rain cascading
O for this dark wintry night prolong
Breaking heart aches so forlorn
Circumstance, distance always impeding
In silence apprehensive heart conceding
Devoid of sustenance waiting in anguish
Quiescent alone in sorrow I languish
As posts interweave deferring
Father Time nonchalant delaying
Yet, essence nourish essence elating
Unadulterated love relaying
Tonight, on borrowed wings my heart must fly
To sheltering warm arms in which I'll lie

"My dear, do you love me?" No, I think not.
A loving foundation is based on trust.
I lost that trust that ties true lovers' knots.
Without it, all love dies and turns to dust.
My heart's been broken many times before
Each love I lost left me uncertainty.
Love doesn't live within me anymore
This I say to you with all certainty.
Love is like snow, beautiful while it lasts
But comes a time it thaws and disappears.
And what remains are traces of the past:
The painful heartaches, lonely nights and tears.
Ask not again of me, do you love me?
Love has died leaving painful memories.

"When yesterdays became devoid of compassion",
you became the reflection in my mirror—
the darkness that cast its shadows upon my walls,
the screams that woke me in the dead of night.
Reaching out, silhouettes dissipated into thin air.
When the clock approached the witching hour.
Nothing but my demons were there to keep me company.
Forked tongues whispered insecurities,
poison-dipped lies into bleeding ears,
twisting and contorting what remained
of a false saviour's psyche.
You see, I could not save you from the depths of pain you swam through.
It was pulling us both down, drowning us in murky waters,
choking and gagging on your sins—we kept sinking faster.
The blackness became heavier
until light could not pierce the veil.
Begging me, you pleaded, "Hold on to me just a little longer."
But the weight became unbearable.
I had to untie the rope around our fragile souls.
I had to let you go.
And now I drown in my own guilt
every time I take a tainted breath
in this distorted world.

DEVOID OF LOVE
________________
Dawn of your life,
Sun doesn't rise.
Morning greets gloom.
Noon is a matter of grey.
Shadow lost its silhouette.
In hustle and bustle of life.
Standing in the crowded street.
No one stops to stare.
At this ravaged state of self.
Music seems to have lost its magic.
Chirping of birds are piercing your ear.
Child crying causes agitation.
Gentle breeze irritates your skin.
'Hello', seems to mean hostility.
Evenings are lacing blues.
Dusk, she wears no twlight.
Nights are damp and cold.
Midnight clouds the mind.
Moon she's lost her sheen.
Stars abandoned the sky.
Rembrant's brush failed its stroke.
His mind has lost perception.
Expression have ceased.
Imagination lost its mind.
Canvas remains unfinished.
Images of deceptions.
Colours make no more sense.
Thoughts have lost imagination.
Words have no connotation.
Expressions are deceiving.
Voice has lost its sound.
Smile has lost its curve.
Vision just a blur.
Time stands still.
suspended animation.
In this vacant space of mind.
Heart doesn't seem to beat.
"ALL BECAUSE YOUR TOTALLY DEVOID OF LOVE ".
When LOVE smiled at you ,
You looked away....???
You " BLUNDERING " fool...!!!
Your heart and soul, Can only perform .
"INTOXICATED" by the nectar of LOVE.
Fuelling your mind with sublime thoughts,
Giving meaning to your life.
"SO GO AND FIND YOURSELF SOMEONE ,
TO LOVE AND BE LOVED".

I am a butterfly
without conversion
flying in the sky
immersion
I have eternal life
for that is promised
I skipped the wildlife
I am the calmest
I was given wings of glory
so that I avoided transformation
this is my story
hence your acclimation

As christmas mounts decembers passing
we huddle in your absence.
Our eyes earthbound in aversion
of the stinging words etched upon the marble.
A solitary magpie skipping over the crystallised blades
highlights my purpose at your graveside.
Your first christmas misspent in the depths of the earths
are my thoughts as my eyes thaw the ground beneath.

If only I could give this world my best,
harbored in this port of call of restless
desires deep inside a ship in raging foam,
I’d find a way to make my way back home.
Digging deep into my sleep and slumber,
never more would I ignore the wonder
of sunrise colors painted on the sky,
or seeing your perfection through these eyes.
Peering past tomorrow’s whispering Titans calls,
to hear the ring of angels sing for all
lifting you above the dew and dreary,
weightless and devoid of feeling weary.
To pass God’s gift from underserving lips,
to stranger, lover, friend, who may begin
finding solace, meaning, that does prevail,
would fill my cup and lift me up in sails.
If only I could give to you my best,
I’d pray that every day brings happiness
to you and those who love you like a rose,
the scent of all your goodness, I suppose.

Heroic Couplet
The paths and streets have worn the soles...
scraped the feet, this journey has seen this soul's defeat
At every turn the hope was dashed
...the love fell through as feelings clashed
A day without strife was lost to me
...all want for self was there set free
And numb is the heartsong now
every sunray cast askew through clouds
Yearning was real, yet never struck deep
....a hazy dream in a fit-filled sleep
Awaken to tear stained pillowcases
....but blurred are the faces-and the emotion is now forgotten
the new day downtrodden-before these weary feet
every feel the cold hardwood world

"In the absence of complication,
trials and tribulations become distant memories.
Above sapphire skies delight sanguine eyes -
inspiring forthcoming musings of the mind."*
Here am I blissfully triumphant
grateful to the sovereign God for life eternal
secured by His compassion’s assurance
anchoring my faith to please Christ, delighting in His person.
Midst revived spirit, my heart exalts the Saviour
Who rescued me from sin’s quagmire
extricating my soul against condemnation verdict
toward adoration’s worship** … awed by His divine magnificence.
Freed from guilt’s distress, I’m restored
enabled by my Lord to serve Him willingly
reaching-out through His ministering hands
to be a blessing by His grace.
Casting my burdens to the Almighty
I find sweet solace in His presence
as He communes with me in prayer haven
sealing my devotion by His divine favor.
Smitten from arrogance fatal grip
yielded am I to my Master’s empowerment
upheld, vanquished against selfishness dominance
while nestling in His intimate fellowship’s warmth.
*First four lines are from Silent One
**Psalm 96:9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness…

Miracles are God’s specialties indeed
showing His omnipotence of love might
bounty so gracious, healing that’s precious
sure pardon; thus, soul from damnation freed.
Devoid of abracadabra magic
Almighty power reigns midst grace to breed
proving the Lord’s triumph over evil
midst wondrous peace --- hatred cannot exceed
while faith grows, trusting Scriptures, truly right
healing that’s precious, bounty so gracious
miracles* happen, divinely decreed.
*Acts 2:22 … Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know. Hebrews 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will.

Cowering in the shadow of fear,
you count every sorrow, tear by tear.
And surrender to life's ugly side,
unwittingly letting evil slide.
Bullets rip through this fabric of lies,
and somewhere, somehow, somebody dies.
For drugs and guns, paint the hood in blood,
stains of youth, lying dead in the mud.
With curtains drawn completely tight,
streets are left to the horrors of night.
And doors get locked with deadbolts in place,
while pride vanishes without a trace.
Needles and condoms litter the park,
where crack whores and pimps stakeout the dark.
And children live under house arrest,
afraid of monsters out to molest.
Taking a life's a juvenile thrill,
unafraid of the law, youngsters kill.
And death runs rampant in Sin City,
where life's cheap and devoid of pity.

Darkness is hurting mind's eye.
Moon has lost her sight of him.
Dark clouds impedes her vision.
Perspective takes shelter.
In the crevices of his grey matter.
He is losing hope,
she was there to stay.
Life is fading away.
Like those 35mm films.
That melts on the projector lens,
because of the passionate heat.
Causing projections on the screen,
of blurry ghosts like images.
Melting down the wonderful scene,
that you were enjoying moments ago.
White owl, perched on her favourite tree.
Scanning the surroundings,
with her large spotlight, like eyes.
For small creatures of prey.
But there seems to be no movement.
No succor, for her hunger tonight.
Like his torpid thoughts.
He is loosing his sanity.
Please inject his dormant,
Impotent mind with 0.5ml of impetus.
So that He can rewind his life.
And be just the amateur poet.
He was yesterday.

Free verse
All of a sudden, at the click of a button.
We can change what tomorrow will bring.
Sometimes it is sad, sometimes it is happy.
It can make the heart cry, or it sing.
In the world of today, when you text what you say.
Your emotions can get misconstrued.
And the line in between can get in the way.
If they think that you are being rude.
Some people find it too easy.
To tell you to go blank yourself.
It's not very nice, kind of sleazy.
Then we end up alone on a shelf.
Those lines in between can seem really mean.
But that's not what they meant at all.
And that magic button can erase the screen.
Leaving nothing but a cold blank wall.
But I want to say, if she come's this way.
That I have nothing but love.
And that she is such a sweet angel.
That God has sent from above.

Down where the creamy Magnolia blossoms are opened
exposed to drizzle and cool damp air
Down where the spider's wide web woven between the Inkberry
Holly and veranda

With dewdrops~ tiny diamonds waiting on the sun to glisten
Down where
The rain runs like a river flowing in the yard
Down to the storm drain on to the creek
Through corrugated culverts
which are filled with water that slowly drains away
Like the heart devoid of all emotion, energy, and enthusiasm
A Heart
Which has poured out energy until the life force has drained
away
There's a strong breeze which has given Vultures a way to soar.....

Their flight of ease catching currents
Search
Until they see food
Hunger driven
Hunger
Drives one whose heart is drained needing to be filled
