~~~~Whimsey vs. Angst ( or-
 You Don't Have to Be Drunk But it Helps)~~~~
Words of whimsey from my pen flow,
while words of angst I bury below.
Which is me, you may never know
if it's only pieces I care to show.
Whimsey is as whimsey does.
So frivilous, happy thoughts buzz
around in my brain , as if it was
full of nothing but fluff and fuzz.
Writing of angst is not my thing.
Words of sadness, words that sting.
Whimsical words always bring
a happier mood, a fest, a fling.
So don't ask me for a sad, sad song.
It would definitely be wrong
to bore you with an epitome long
that saddens and depresses the throng.
Poetry of a happier time
flows in verses and in rhyme.
I'll pen you thoughts joyful and sublime
if you just pass the tequila and the lime.
The Wildflower
I saw it today, the first wildflower of the season,
It filled my heart with unending joy,
Finally after the barren winter, Life;
Life in the form of a vibrant Wildflower,
Yellow in color with petals seeking the sun,
Feeling it’s warmth after the long cold winter;
I saw in it Hope, hope that winter has ended,
No more snow, no more frigid cold,
No more cloudy and freezing days,
With the chilling wind that pierces your very soul,
Finally sun; and warmth and color;
Winter is so desolate and bare,
The lack of color depresses me;
I need sun, I need to feel it’s heat on my face,
And now I have hope that it’s here to stay,
Here for the next few seasons at least;
Bringing with it the roasting summer,
And days on the lake, oh how I missed them;
Stretched out on a beach towel,
Listening to the waves and the gulls;
In this one flower I find redemption…
Premium Member Knowing You
Do you feel hollow?
Void in the marrow...
Do you feel mellow?
Poise beyond swallow...
Do you feel crazy?
Strange brew not lazy...
Do you feel sorrow?
Guilt tinged with hollow...
Do you feel regret?
Sadness that upsets...
Do you feel lonely?
Nobody cares for me...
Do you feel the blues?
Pain depresses you...
Do you feel like dirt?
Rise above your hurts...
Do you know the truth?
Your life offers proof...
Do you feel times strange?
Start to embrace change...
Do you feel lost here?
Live true and sincere...
How I Know This Is Love
how i know this is love
because you stay on my mind whether i'am working or doing nothing.
thought of you floats, i'm on cloud nine.
my tongue starts to tinge when i'm about to say your name.
all the pain that should of tore us apart made us stronger.
now what we have i fend for it to last a lot longer.
how i know this is love
because i crazy about the simple things you do not the fancy and expensive
things you do.
the thought of you leaving me depresses me, the thought of our future family
excites me.
your eyes drive me insane.
dreams of you in my sleep no other man i see.
when you call to see how my day is touches my soul.
how i know this is love
like a school girl crush you make me blush.
with you i'm kind of neverous and sly, but then you bring out the best of me.
no feelings i want to hide.
my prince charming, like a fairy tale this feels like magic.
how i know this is love
your committed to my happiness.
when my day is sad your day is sad.
my desire's you know inside and out.
the perfect gentleman you are, feels like i been bless my a angel.
how i know this is love
together we make one person
our hearts connects as one.
There Was a Time
There was time when I thought you would be there forever,
When I thought you would be there for me when I needed you,
Yet I was wrong for time separated us and I had to let you walk your path.
Yet I wished to follow but I knew it was not my time,
So I had to give up and not look back,
But look forward carrying your memory with me in my every step.
Suddenly,
I realize that all that I know now is because of you,
That you were a guide placed by God for me,
To prepare me for my next step.
Yet,
How I wish you were there in my graduation,
How I wish you would be there next to me on my big day,
How I wish you would be there to carry your grandson the same way you carried
me when I was born.
Looking back at old pictures makes the tears come pouring down,
Seeing you looking up at me through the frame on the wall depresses me,
It reminds me of the time I wasted when I could have been there holding your hand.
Thinking of all this will remind me to hold up your name,
To see your judgment before my every step,
To understand your wisdom in all that you thought me.
Even though time has separated us physically,
You are there inside me burning brightly like a candle that’s light will never fade,
For I am the living part of you that will stand up to your morals,
For there was a time.
Premium Member Arthritis Is Back
Autumn sneaks early into September
With cloudy days and cooler temp,
A feeling of fall in the morning air
Arthritis is back, causing me to limp.
Thank goodness for dear ol’ Ben Gay
With his sweet smell of peppermint,
He helps me make it through the day
By applying his soothing, minty scent.
The pain is real, the ache depresses
With stiffness that won’t go away,
We all have those minor distresses
Unfortunately, Arthritis plans to stay!
I Listen
I'm listening
I get an ear full
My ears they are ringing
I hear your words
Charmed I see visions
I scheme - visualizing
The ocean waves they roar
Caps they flutter
Sand washes up on the shore
The storm it thickens
Trembling the floors
Skies they are dark
Calamity sets in
The dreary scene depresses
My mood now expresses
No sun in sight
No gaze of the hues of a rainbow
I have no iris
Still I see light
Dull dreary daylight
I see a tunnel
Soon it shall lift
And up my spirits shall be
The storm I see
I soaked each wave
You now hear me?
I am a shell
The ocean storm you hear
Up to your ear!
Bewildered
I am of sense
Be the waves as they were
I was!   Hence
A silent listener.
visions of himself
a life of broken fragments
palette toned sepia.
a sense of menace
depresses anticlimax
master of his moods.
not all quests are quixotic
some are doomed to fail.
Girl of My Dreams
" Girl Of My Dreams "
The word known as beauty can describe only you
you are the clear vision in all of my dreams
I can not physically reach out and touch your soft skin
and it makes me want to yell out and scream.
I want to close my eyes and go to sleep forever
so I can dream of both you and me again and again
why can't you become real and reach out to touch me?
So that together we can really let our love begin.
I go and lay upon my bed so early in the night
trying hard to be with you as I drift off to sleep
another nights rest is spent while looking at you
I give you my precious love forever to keep.
I love to close my eyes and fall off to sleep
because I know you will always be coming my way
spending precious moments while I am holding you
sure makes me dislike the coming of another day.
I pray and wish the night time would forever stay
because when I close my eyes I see you again
when I wake in the morning you will fade away
it depresses me when another day will begin.
Another beautiful day with my thoughts all of you
thinking that when I die to spend everlasting eternity
I will ask our dear God for this Girl Of My Dreams
to spend my forever with you always holding me...
Premium Member I Have a Secret
I have a secret, the changing of time
Affects me sublime, and opens me to
The changing of blue to this lovely sign
Of which I divine, the moon shines all through
The fog entered into, each step I’m blind
I reach every kind, the walkway is straight
With fall leaves debate, I surely don’t mind
I walk on them to grind, moon won’t abate
The darkness all around depresses me
I can sure see by the sound of the moon
Not a flower to bloom, must be empty
While it won’t be grumpy, surely too soon
I don’t find a regret, where the power
Resides in a tower, while it ensues
I can’t breathe in the blue, it does shower
Moon’s a ray of dower, just what we choose
The land isn’t sound proof, is carries here
The crickets do sheer, and cross barriers
The gut can’t feel emptier, there’s no fear
I grasp the fog’s tear, it cuts like daggers
Problem
Once and awhile we come across a problem,
it takes control of us,
depresses us.
Some how we come through,
we solve it,
show it that it wont disturb us any more.
we are strong,
and always will be.
Growing Up Abuse
Mother’s Day depresses me
because the way Mom sees me
when I came home from service
she rarely gave me notice
and labeled me not normal
never was an animal
she always looked down at me
to her I shouldn’t be free
is it some kind abuse?
she was very nice to Deuce
Deuce was her old friend
my life there to end
I feel guilty for having these thoughts
I always knew my life at home rots
Premium Member Right In Your Face
Seems there's some strange stuff going down
The world's not a happy place
Very different from just a few decades ago
World news wasn't right in our face
Since instant communications became available
Nothing goes unnoticed anymore
Someone sneezes on the other side of the world
And the germs soon reach our shore
Thought the Internet would be a real good thing
Connecting people all around the globe
As it turns out the bad news is instantaneous
We know if someone in China catches cold
There's a good side to this modern technology
But there's a not so good side as well
The bad news used to take a long time to reach us
In our own little world we dwelled
So we're forced to hear about all the bad stuff
We no longer are able to choose
Takes someone with a very strong constitution
To survive this age of instant news
So which is better, being oblivious to the crap
Or hearing it on a daily basis
Depresses the hell out of us sensitive souls
 Hearing it from far away places
Teeter totter poem
Standing on a razor sharp edge,
Just like balance that has a wedge,
Swaying on either of two sides,
Positive and negative, life is a teeter totter ride!
It's sometimes love, other times sorrow,
Some humble words, some harsh ego,
Immense pleasure , at times great horror,
Peace in world, more of hostility and terror !
Whenever tried to live a balanced life,
Always encountered some new strife,
And on a tottering platform as I lied,
Testing times for me, no one to guide!
Good enchants and bad depresses,
Confidence blesses and loss suppresses,
Every aspect essential for a complete life,
Melody of music comes of the teeter totter pipe!
Premium Member Dissecting Saudi
Nineteen months has passed since I did a step..
A step to attain one of my dreams..
Rumored as the land of "Just dime or penny"..
Talked as a land of so much strict Rules..
Rials their stable currency.
Oil their main product..
Towering modern ediffices abounds..
Architecturally design interiors..
Rich truly, as they said..
Islam the strictly followed religion..
Arabic their national language..
Riyadh, Jeddah, Maddina some of it's mainland..
Black and white the common colors of apparels..
Yet, roaming around malls..
Variant vibrant colors visibly in stalls..
Simplicity, that's what I appreciated here..
It was a barren solid land..
Almost all nationalities are here..
Finding a life; Making livelihood..
Maximizing what this country can offer...
Yet it's rules, the prohibitions..
Depresses the other life of man...
It takes away some of the joys of living..
Thus others, breaks the rules...
" incest meetings" are such as searching gold..
precious as undiscovered diamonds..
friends makes the stay here worthwhile..
Adopting and preserving the heart of humanity..
