Best Day Dreaming Poems
the red glow so far away
so close, embraced
the burst of innervated dawn
restraining its awe
the uplift of a lemony-spring
sponge-squeezed from the sudsy sun
the faucet of quiet waters turned off
the aura of a red and white sail on the run
and my day’s just begun
just wait
until the unspooling of the supermoon
the sand dunes of midnight
dreaminess in the lightly rocking socket
infused with Panamanian water lilies
whereas my ears leap at the splash
of oar-rowed canoes
my eyes behold but a shadow of heaven
and i almost die right there and then
in my dugout
i awake to a blue ceiling with stars
hazardly close
unable to breach the barrier reef
i sink into my pillow
in stillness
asleep

drifting along the milky way looking and
watching the clouds roll away looking at
the rainbow in the sky drifting and dreaming
as time goes by as I twinkle in my head
nothing whispered nothing said only moments
sitting day dreaming while I just sit and stare
when I want to get away when I want to pass
the time when I want curl up and leave it
all behind I dream about the sweetest things
that nothing can compare when I day dream
my thoughts take me everywhere.

On the lake as I sit free.On a vacation I would be.I see the trees and I hear the birds.I see the deer that run in herds. On a mountaintop far away, I see a ram,and he wants to play. He dances, he jumpsand knocks rocks loose with all the fun.But the ram is unaware of the danger that leers.I see a cougar coming near. Luckily, the ram veers.I am glad and filled with glee. And I see a butterfly land on a tree. With its bright colors and large wings,if only I could be such a thing.I would fly away, with no care in sight, and carry on all through the night.I fly around and visit the flowers. What a gorgeous day. I hope it doesn't shower.I stop dreaming, and awake I be,and there I am, for all to see.Back on the lake, until the next dream I dream.
Roses are red and yellow
Roses are pink and white
Near a that is round
A berry tree has grown
The birds are flocking
to the tree
They are at the house
that is round
Filling their stomachs
with berries
A howling wind is blowing
All through the evening
It sounds like a storm
While the snowflakes
are dancing
Quickly zig-zag to
the ground
Day dreaming of
summer
While the snowflakes
spread
The time spent thinking up these rhymes,
could be put to better use.
I could learn a language, or DIY the house.
Maybe learn to fly a plane, or sail across the sea,
or walk across the Gobi, and drink Mongolian tea.
I could learn to play piano,
it can't be all that hard,
after all, I used to play tin whistle,
when I was just a lad.
There must be lots of activities,
I'm not too old to learn,
like playing tennis, keeping fit,
I've got some fat to burn.
But, Hey, you're no Spring chicken,
my dear wife likes to say,
Sit in your chair, put the blanket round,
and balance this tea tray.
I suppose I'll just keep dreaming,
of things that I could do,
or maybe write ideas down,
and make a rhyme or two.
"Day-dreaming"
As i lay upon this sand
Beneath the light of sun
I walk within the midst of clouds
Only to touch, not even but one
I see the riseing cliffs
And the forest in loom beyond,
The lakes of sparkling waters
That reflect the mornings dawned
I spy the grounds below,
And the sand on which I lie
For to this place I must return
Again to hover, amid these museful skies...
ps i just wanted to try and write something greeting card-ish.it is kinda fun...
My Religious Studies School Class
At the back of the class on the seat of a wooden writing desk
Like a thinner version of Billy Bunter, ink blots and all.
Ensconced with both eyes open, listening, but body drifting
This was Religious Studies in the old school attic classroom.
My name is Michael, the boys call me "Michael Smichael".
In my daydream, I am the Archangel Michael on my throne
Seated to the right of the Almighty whose holy voice booms,
"Archangel Michael, all is not well in the Earthly World".
I turned to my left to reply, when I was struck by a piece of chalk.
"Michael", says the Very Reverend Welch David Davis
"Repeat my last sentence". I reply "All is not well in the Earthly World".
Says the very Reverend Welch David Davis, "And why is that Michael?".
"Too much day dreaming, instead of paying attention", says I.
The other boys chorus, "Michael Smichael gets yet another detention".
"Report to the 'Sergeant at Arms' after school for one hour",
Booms the Very Reverend Welch David Davis.
As she sits drinking coffee
on a warm summer day.
Thoughts of him comes to
her mind.
A smile quickly appears across
her face.
*She remembers that long spring
day when they met, talked, laughed
and walked hand in hand as though
they had been together all along.
He craved their names with his knife
on the big white oak tree.
He wrote it so everyone passing by
would see.
Suddenly she jumps when she hears
a crash on the ground.
Looking down she saw she dropped
her coffee cup.
A sadness quickly appears across
her face.
*She remembers when the day was
over and he held her close,
Whispering in her ear he says
'We can be because I am married'.
I see our morning golden sun rising
ocean white-caps, rolling west about to spill
cool salty air Seagulls soar, poised for diving
crystal clear sea, Looking for fish, so hover still
Only yards from where I’d toss my pole to fish
where I've set my pad, scribe one poetic line
with anticipation too, enjoy a veggie, fish fry
walking our white sandy shore, as gull's dine
To desert my writing desk, stare concentrating,
a place of pictures, in holiday greetings...
writing, reading, or alone there computing
sometimes it’s as if gazing onto a post card,
Day-dreaming, I'll soar outside unto different space
only feet away from reality,
no time to watch all goings on beyond...
for my Sun sets soon, on a fine day in my imaginary
What is the difference between wishing you had
something and having it.
Is there a medium between both of them or a high within our minds.
Thinking we had it and letting our thoughts go free
when we do not have something that we wish we had.
Do we compare day dreaming with wishing.
Only in day dreaming and
wishing we let our minds go free and wondering and not
facing the reality of things.
With day dreaming and wishing we have been sleeping in our own minds,
not awaking to complete the task of making it from a dream
to reality.
I have been day dreaming about you all day
Written By Dean Masciarelli
October 6, 2010 (9:21pm)
I have been day dreaming about you all day
And I’ve been wondering if
you
may have put a spell on me
Because its been awhile since I’ve felt this way
And I know that there are plenty of fish in the sea
But I sure am glad that you started talking to me
Because you have touched my heart in a special way
And maybe if I am lucky
I’ll get to meet you some day
But I guess for the moment we will just have
to wait and see
What the good lord has in store for you and me
to find out if you and I were truly meant to be
Days spent thinking of you
Always I can see you
Your presence I can feel
Dreams while awake
Reaching out for you
Each time you slip away
Abandoned I feel and lost
Many times I smell you
It clusters around me
Now settling , and the
Good memories flood in
Onwards alone I go
Free yet never free
You are part of me
Only hidden by the veil
Until it parts I wait for you
Day Dreaming Cowboy
Wish I was a cowboy
Just for you tonight
We’d Waltz and two step
Across this bar room floor
We’d put quarters in the juke box
Till they spilled upon the floor
We’d sing along with
Hank and Willy
Till they couldn’t take it anymore
I’d smother you in
Belt buckles
From my latest rodeo
I’d be the cowboy
Who rode that bull
Ten seconds more
I’d put you on a stallion
Let you lope across the
Wind swept prairies of my mind
I’d trade my Stetson
For your Levi’s
And lacy underwear
I’d place your boots
Beneath my bed
Till the little ones came
And kissed us both goodnight
I wish I was that cowboy
Just for you tonight

The first time we ever met
Your name was all I knew
But as we got to know each other
I knew meeting you was long over due
You wanted to be mine and I wanted to be yours too
Day dreaming was all I could ever do
Thinking about us taking long walks
gazing into your eyes as we would talk
All these things I would miss
When all I wanted was a simple kiss
Thinking about you holding me tight
Wondering and hoping you just might
Those cute eyes staring straight at me
That is how I knew this was meant to be
Well Played
I’m older now
Older than I thought
I would ever be
My life began in
Black and white, then
Exploded into electric
Crayola vivid colors that
Ripped away the veils
Turned me on to the
Sublime infection called music
And all the sensory goodies
Flew at my waiting young face
With Cat four hurricane force
Bosche’s Garden of Earthly Delights
Was more a lifestyle than an
Incredible oil on canvas and
Sometime during that amazing
full tilt boogie I learned to
Deep dive inside and began
To tell myself the unadorned truth
Watching as layer after layer of
Cumbersome story sloughed off
And my choices took on a softer
Texture more temperate, less wild
Yes I’m older now
Older than I thought
I would ever be but
I’ve never been more at home
living in my skin...
