Sweet Bye and Bye
Well, drip the juice
turn off your
Sunday suits
Fried chicken crackling
Rerun, what's happening
Brothers givin dap again
ain't no O'Jay
whistlin
back stabbin-in
Bill Cosby
found a friend again
Fat Albert
workin off pork rinds
and gubment
cheese
sinners gettin
on knees
Faith returned
Heaven turned warm
Just a little sumthin
sumthin
remindin us how
a man's actions
added volume
to his words
Kids were seen
 not heard

Premium Member Dapper Drac
Dapper Drac had a panic attack, and topping off the dread
His trendy boots clashed with his suit, plus his white shirt was stained red

Sure his hair was right, and dynamite, as seen in the mirror
Yet to dress, without finesse, in his book, was a vile...

PARALLEL ARE THE RAILS

(PRE-VERSE 1)
Feeling all alone
Cast away like a stone

Few friends what I got
True friends can’t be bought.

(VERSE 1)
Living is a joke
Think I’m about to choke.
Lookin’ at you
Lookin’ at me
Mirror is true (but the reflection is cracked)
False truths won’t set you free.

(Pre-Chorus)
I got...

Dismantling of a Nation
Dismantling Of A Growing Nation

Back in late 70s, while I was just another fresh face in a local varsity....
Racial based politics was gaining grounds with public sympathies....
Remembered distinctly DAP, the opposition party, was gaining popularity....
Especially with the youths in mainly the urban areas...

Chapter 27
Dear Ma I don't mean to write a letter and flee,
but it seems I got the Devil in me.
This average Joe tested my manhood and now
I have to teach him a lesson,
bullet wounds to his chest will leave him breathless
"I'll be out in a second."
Slipped...

(Intro)
Hello……..my friends.

(Chorus)
It’s nice to see you
After all this time……..once again
Where has the time gone off to
Are our memories of yesteryear
Still as fresh as the lingering pain
that flows like a sorrowful tear
Must we keep our emotions at bay
hidden securely behind a cerebral barricade
that’s built up behind...

Wait Up Baby
Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Wait Up Baby
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: February/1989

The water/smooth
feathered
white suede
winter hat
was tilted
"Ace/Duece,"
to his head,

in the heat
of
summer -

His gait
was that
of a
Stepping
"Dap/Daddy."

He wore
a black
short/waist
zipUp
leather jacket,

Dark
teardrop
sUnGlasses,

a white
T-Shirt;
black
faded/Jeans,
&
black
patant/leather
(keen toed)

Stacey Adam
Shoes -

The
cigarette
that burned
between his
left index
& middle
finger,

Were
like
a
short fuse
(ready to explode) -

Explode
on who
he called,
"HisLady"

she was
walk'n
strides
&
strides
ahead
of
him -

"Say,
he shouted,!

I'm talk'n
to U
Damn/It.

Wait-Up
baaaaaby!
U/B
walk'n
to
fast."

She
was almost
out of
his
hearing
range,

&
his
dap-daddy
step
&
slurred
speech...

Blue Hearts
1 man
all by himself no one understands
The government even determine when he can see his kid
Now he got a bunch of stuff running through his head
Streets getting wild
Never knew he wasn’t my mans
I was in denial
But Before I give you...

Try as I might there's no satisfying this flesh I'm in, not
the lusts of it of this indwelling sin but I'm in...the zone

I'm more than a conqueror I still got power...

Bleak Moments
Violent noisy events in waves slap ,
Break and coersively snatch away
Distrubing the foamy thoughts in array,
Spreading across the stretch and dap

Calm and quietude that envelope
And revive the slackening sprit -
Beyond the roaring waters sans limit ,
Get tossed with the flickering hope

A little...
