Best Cordless Poems
I'd like to give...a quiet shout
To all my friends...'been down and out
Life gets better...there's no doubt
I pray that you'll...get through
I'd like to give...a voiceless say
To all my friends...'been feeling gray
Must try to start...a brand new day
There's so much more...to do
I'd like to ring...a cordless line
Hope you've all...'been feeling fine
To all our friends...yours and mine
I've sent a prayer...for you
I'd like to write...a simple poem
By chance your ill...'been sick at home
There's others...you are not alone
There were others that...I knew
I'd like to hum...to those with wings
To those who've passed...'been given wings
I've felt your pain...and it still stings
I cried the day...you flew

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, one of my favorite films, hauntingly irresistible in black and white. The sun neither rises nor sets as the words stir in the tide. Like fabric, I touch and feel the throng of poetry, and roll the plenipotentiary words between my palms like playdough.
full-throttle captain
he ponders and tugs his beard —
ethereal sea
Mrs. Muir welcomes
his salty words of times past —
this ghost is her muse
The grit on my fingers, its mineral on my tongue, its scent of salty fish I inhale, as I tap on a cordless typewriter, my billowing blouse compliments the snow-white window treatment flapping in the windswept seaside cottage - but a dream.
the sand beneath feet
bare and entertained, tickled
by my inward muse

Alligator with fierce but captivating eyes sometimes red glare
The Man with a title given by the High Priest of his Tribe
A man gifted at Birth for the World to be entertained by.
Though much more then the Entertainer inside ~
This Man a poet , a man of wisdom and power
Playing his cordless accordion or Guitar on the tiny Bar
Powerful stares , people dancing crazy underneath a moonlit sky
His trance , a spell on others , not to be denied
A Force stronger then you will know , be dared to reckon with
His name was given at birth for a reason , A Scorpio
Legacy throughout Europe and deep woods in the Bayou
Alligator loved by many , playing Jimmy Hendrix to Zydeco
Alligator , the man on fire , women can not help but desire
In Monterey Bay, California, he plays , magical surprise
be warned if you go with date to see him "Alligator "
At the end of your dancing to Zydeco and blues
your date will be in Trance , one glare into his eyes
she will be wanting He at the end of the night , your demise.

"My college try at 'You're in a Horror film "
something has taken over his spirit
I do think I'll be his next ...
The land line rings , I answer Hello ? a response with crackling voice.
" Do you remember me , I am an old friend ? "
Who is this ? I respond noticing the rain falling hard ..
a sketchy voice response..
I am here , can't you see me?
"is this a sick Joke ? as I grab a knife for protection"
I'm calling the police ! This is Harassment !
" The police are here ' ....'in a psychotic response
The lights go out , the lightning from the storm has
hit a tree, I am scarred now, looking for all candles to light my way
A loud Knock ! Again a knock , I slam the phone down , fearfully
lock the door fast, yet trembling. It's as if someone is breathing
a cold breath with a long finger nail running down my back ..
Knock Knock again , I look out the peep hole, it is the police !
Opening the door , The Policeman says " We are checking to see
if you are Ok ? You need to let me in and stand behind me "
The policeman calls for backup to Elm Street .
" Someone said they saw a tall man with a mask and knife enter
your basement , The storm has blown out the electricity, lines are down "
Grabbing the cordless, I respond " someone just called , scarring me! "
That is not possible , these lines have been down for hours , the person
driving by called prescient on a cell.
I try to get a line and the phone is dead ....
The policeman is searching the home with a flashlight .
As he goes into the Kitchen I see a large knife in his Back shirt ,
Now he is laughing ..the phone rings ..
'you're in a Horror movie contest '

Dramatic Monologue
Cordless, you are on the other side
Our minds made of armour, thoughts safely hidden inside
My key combination has been deactivated, I need to access you
Communicating like lost ships, I see the flashing light in you
Let's laugh again and let happiness have its way with us
Thoughts of how this was established has me thinking God invested in us
Time has allowed distance, that's unacceptable
Broken families, in societies it has become acceptable
How about our names appearing in the encyclopaediea
Our thesis published by the media, that's an idea
We made ground breaking discoveries on love alone
And now you tell me I can do this all alone
We are the pillars of our own life, architecturally speaking
I find my feelings falling relentlessly in a gradient, literally speaking
I need a lab, a vaccine is imperative
Keep this quarantined or else results would be distructive
Did I tell you that you still make me laugh?
Abstract is the label they give our picture lately, that's rough
All I hear nowadays is your lawyer's voice instead of your own
Evidently no blame can be infused into anyone, decisions made were our own
Now I seat across the table from you holding these papers wondering how it
manifested into this
I am partly involved, part of it not being part of your life which led us into this
You seat there mutely almost emotionless
You still look beautiful as the first time I saw you, nothing less
We now have individuals that speak on our behalf
If I could, I would ask you to continue to be my better half
What's good about a half if the other half is missing
In all honesty, it has always been you that i'm missing
Please, come home.

Though surrounded by clouds
of discouragement
Clouds of downfall
I want to ascend
The upper altitudes
Till I reach present fulfilment
So far away
Beyond the horizon
Squeezed my soul
And tunneled me down
Till I reached the limit
My wishes are the flames
On my life that ignites as they
burn
My candlestick is my struggles
That's like a cordless phone
Waiting to live
It has been my ambition
Not to pivot the see saw of the
night and day
But my anger is frozen to be
this pivot
To talk for myself
I hate to hate
But how often has it been
I could not hate enough...

Ballad
First she said she had to go.
Time is creaking in the flow.
Grasping firm my smooth e-phone,
Party matter, cordless zone.
Twisting, lying, spineless snake,
Open mouth too big to take.
Venus venom summons Eve's
Blushing, bouncing apple tease.
Humping in a sack of green,
Not for love or tangerines.
**** of gold and multi-facets.
Time is leaking on my assets.
Running from that musky cow.
Searching for a ginger gal,
Soul-mate, princess, guardian, fairy,
On this night of wet and eerie.

Technology's necessity, without it we would die, it's
fascinating really how computers run our lives,
the tapping of the keyboard and the clicking of the
mouse, it's gotten so that folks don't even have to
leave the house.
The world's right at our fingertips and there's no way
around, the fact that all you need is just a debit card
account,
to pay for what you wish, your items may get freely
shipped, you may get really gipped but I aint really
sayin spit,
I'll change it up a bit, now ev'rybody lose your mind, I
don't mean goin crazy just expand it and refine,
imagine you're agoraphobic, scared to go outside,
computers then present a slight resemblance of a
life.
The script rotates with ease I flip it 45 degrees, you
got the shady ones out there that steal identities,
bring fam'lies to their knees, absconding quick with
50 Gs, a scam that's ran leaves both the check and
save stash hittin E.
They're also in the mobile phones, there're no more
phones at home, no cordless in the kitchen only
touch screen mobile tones,
that come with email, news and weather packaged
up in foam, remember when we knew our peoples'
numbers from the dome?
I stand up self admittedly absorbed in techno-lust,
it's fright'ning if you ponder, it could all end with a
touch,
of just a button, maybe 2, a maze of 82, Verizon's the
horizon so we're really praising who?
The media in print is by the wayside, take a look,
we'll move a cursor but won't flip the pages in a book,
on that aspect I'm old school up unitl I d-i-e, you'll
always find a paper or a hardback right by me.
The future's in the hands of those who strive to make
it more, than being slaves to microchips like
Terminator 4,
there will be no salvation when the Ipads mess us
up, Steve Jobs is worshipped more than God,
beware of techno-lust.

SILENT TEARS
"Sometimes I wonder
Why you can't hear me
If you'd only listen
But maybe you fear me
You say I'm trippin
I feel like a Christian
Trying to prove my love
But like jesus, you missing
On this journey I feel all alone
I talk to you nobody's home
Empty my mind
Cordless phone
Trying to reach
Your heart,
Dead end zone
Plenty of times
I hit solid stone
Put up blocks
Trying to hide my fears
But it only produce silent tears
They never fall
Clear glue in my eyes
Killing my heart
Can you hear my
Dry cries
I tried to speak
You jump right in
So I stop
Let you ramble and sing
I laugh, I smile
Somtimes I grin
But my silent cry
Lies within
Sometimes I wonder
Why you can't hear me
If you'd only listen
But maybe you fear me
You say I'm trippin
I feel like a Christian
Trying to prove my love
But like jesus, you missing
I give you my love
You refuse to feel
Its like you are made
Of Brick and steel
Sometimes I wish to reverse
The wheel
But my love is deep
My love is real
Trying to be superwoman
Now I no longer feel
I try to keep holding on
But I've become numb
Like a newborn baby
Can't talk sucking the thumb
I've become mute
Some say dumb
But it's my heart
Its come undone
My cry is loud
Can you hear me now
Like nimbus clouds
Rain is pouring, ow ow
The pain is piercing
Like branding a cow
But I no longer can feel
My cry takes a bow
For the tears are gone
Silence for now
For on the inside
Snowballs they pow
Pounding my heart
Trying to release
It now
But just like you
No bullet no plow
Can get this heart
It's brick and steel now
Sometimes I wonder
Why you can't hear me
If you'd only listen
But maybe you fear me
You say I'm trippin
I feel like a Christian
Trying to prove my love
But like jesus, you missing

I made a covenant with my eyes,
Never to look lustfully at the thighs,
Not to look suggestively at a lady,
Not to admire her pulchritudinous body,
What has happened now..,
I find myself sinning in a row,
Am selling my eyes ooh, come buy them naah!
I assured myself not to utter,
Anything of romance as it would be bitter,
I promised to see all ladies as my sister,
Never to seduce, allure them, but sisterly utter,
Everything has changed,
Satan, his angels have my mind mingled,
Am selling my eyes ooh, come buy them naah!
Whenever I see a lady,I become hot,
My eyes see a beautiful lady,a sister not,
They conjoin the brain to admire,
I find myself salivating, and a phone number, I acquire,
I say I will text her bible verses,
But the conspiracy in me bring love advances,
Am selling my eyes ooh, come buy them naah!
At times,am sitted planless,
A lady passes,my eyes pop out in questness,
They make me call the damsel,
Witnessing as I prepare my journey to hell,
Instead of preventing me from sinning,
They always see every skirt stunning,
Am selling my eyes ooh, come buy them naah!
Enough is enough,am damn tired,
Females have nicknamed me a sex bud,
A womaniser is my new noun,
Leave alone seductor which is my pronoun,
Can't I not live in peace,
Or are they a necessity for being at ease,
Am selling my eyes ooh, come buy them naah!
Eyes have produced killer kings,
Made them sin with rings,
Are they not eyes that made king David,
see Bathsheba full with beauty gravid,
And conspirated to make her husband killed,
As he enjoys what his eyes reaped,
Am selling my eyes ooh, come buy them naah!
How I wish my eyes be lustfulless,
In every last they see,ugliness,
In every skirt around,tightless,
In every girl child creations, bootyless,
For every thighs seen,smoothless,
And for an engagement with my brain to sin, cordless,
Am selling my eyes ooh, come buy them naah!
Dear Lord, I know have sinned greatly,
Fallen short of your glory broadly,
I beg for another chance,
To revive and change for once,
Help me God,let me be prayerful,
As I train my eyes not be lustful,
Am selling my eyes ooh, come buy them naah!

Uninformed Guest
I heard a knock on my door
Rushed out to see my uninformed guest
But saw the glistening shadows of my potted palms
Pansies and colourful gerberas wafting in the wind
About to shut the door I saw a huddled girl
In the corner of my front courtyard
***** but not weird in my country
Baffled if she was a runway
Or suffering from hunger, forced labour or abused
Shrivelled and soaked I brought her in-
gave her the outgrown wear of my daughter-
Offered her hot chocolate which she drank thirstily
The warm food food gobbled down before a second breath
Shocked and outraged at her gestures
Thought it best to call the police
The cordless phone still in my hand
I heard a loud bang of my front door and rushed out
But only saw the glistening shadows of my potted palms
Pansies and colourful gerberas wafting in the wind

I
Hours and hours of empty talk
filled with the lull of piano, pianissimo.
I felt your passionate words through each
round hole on the cordless telephone,
I drank your syllables, sweet like cranberry juice,
feverish syrup melting my ears.
Our minds met, conversed, convulsed, condemned
us to loving (or something close to it),
and my brain still wrinkles with
what I have yet to say.
II
One kiss in the emptiness,
a full room of sleeping figures,
and we connected through lips and fingers,
beneath blankets that belonged to neither.
And then, you and I became
a wispy, fragile, ambivalent “we,”
until we both found new beds
and lost summer’s paradise.

Liberated Part 1 of 2
Liberated after years of incarceration, body and mind vacation,
somewhere tropical, just shy of the equator, feel unstoppable as pen and paper,
intimately dance, a tickertape parade on hot sands,
raining lyrics from my life, a celebration as I flick through my vinyl, hands aloft, a beer and a reefa, like I'd scored in the champion's league final,
was holding the trophy, spilt suds soak me,
immediately evaporate from my skin in the heat, body obediently following the beat,
or is about to be, 'we are the champions, we are the champions, we are the champions,' mentality,
feeling as high as that last note, about to unleash the dancer, the poet,
move outside, lured by the beautiful weather, feet feel light like that Forest Gump feather,
perfect backdrop: our English scenery, nature acting in this scene with me,
dramatic in approach, a convincing, fluid performance, beautiful voice but muted by my cordless, headphones, they allow me to find my own meaning, words from poems,
replacing the chaffinch chirp, the rook's rasp, the creak of timber in the wind's clasp,
slow intro beats replace the drip of a snow-cap melting, high tempo beats, the rain pelting,
lightening, thunder, a pirate on the plunder,
cutlass slicing during the sullen tones, then bang, musket shots, skull n crossed bones,
activated by a starting pistol, feel it ear to ear, Caribbean waters, crystal clear,
as I dive in, look skyward, watch my breath bubbles rising,
magical as the light filters through the surface to meet them, follow them back, pick up the beat again,
fully inhaling, feel like I've found that holy grail thing,
as I take another drink, moving back the years, as shoulders slink,......
