Tooth and Nail

Tooth and Nail

In this space, this world we have created,
it is - for most – a very slippery slope
that seems – for many – to be frustrated
by this feeling – there is very little hope.

Upon the edges of this world – scars of mans
attempt – fingernails ripped from his hands.
Upon the edges of this world – craters from teeth
attempting – hanging by the skin of, from underneath.

On this world – from man’s shadows chained –
all that fate, karma, choices made, nothings gained,
for in the end, what is it that will remain ?,
that when we look back, be considered sane.

My words, my thoughts dance to a different drummer,
this places me on the outer edges, making life a bummer.
Life seems to exist on the fringes of winter – seldom summer
sings its songs to my ears – seldom a joyful hummer

will I be, for you see, I dance to a different drummer !
Doing so, I can find no band in which I might play
because my tunes touch most, reach none – nothing stays
categorized, for me – no place to belong – stark are my days.

In this world – life for me – to be on my own.
Journeys, adventures – life for me – all alone
as I fill my days – empty – in my little home
with little light reflecting from my shiny chrome.

And so, for those who care, or care to see ?,
there is little I say, I feel, that could be
a full representation, a complete picture of me.
Lost in the subconscious blackness – an obscured sea.

Crafting a monumental structure

Apprehensions in thoughts may form a labyrinth,
and like a cipher open up to become a plinth
but still the belief beholds to achieve what is imagined,
Though in a fog,the wanderer still feels attuned,
Let it be light or the approaching darkness,
but it isn't a mirage showing its absentness...
The people who waded along aren't lost,
As they too were finding a purpose, when their paths had just crossed
So continue the walk to paint the complete picture,
As like the dreams, the clay of life would build a monumental structure.

On Thanksgiving Day

It’s another red-letter day
a holiday in the U.S.
a national, religious holiday
known also as a ‘Turkey Day’
a very important day.

A chance to be reconnected,
a moment of being together,
a salutary occasion for gratitude,
full with family folderol.

There are historic reasons
this American celebration
has its origin centuries ago;
as the Pilgrims did it and -
invited neighboring Indian tribes.

To hold it with a feast –
A celebration for God’s blessing.
giving thanks for a common purpose,
freedom, justice, and worship in God.
Through Sarah Josepha Hale
this event has become a tradition
a realization that came to fulfillment
marked with significance, thus far.

With church services elsewhere
wth family reunions all over
with customary turkey dinner
oh, a reminder of the historic past:
at the Pilgrims’ big celebration.

In many homes and families
Table fellowships spice up the day
with turkey, mashed potatoes,
cranberry sauce, maize, pumpkin pie
and other vegetables and desserts.
a complete picture of this great tradition.

A Still Small Voice

As I lie here pondering the fullness of your plan
not able to see a complete picture knowing only
a jot of the real purpose for which you made man,

Time passes yet my understanding at times wanes
though my faith grows and hope enduring abounds
within my soul my heart ever questioning remains,

You wait patiently knowing all that I am each day
watching all that I do, and in my prayers, you listen
to my every thought unspoken and every word I say,

My heart is an open book of which you are aware
a repository of all my works read quietly in silence
at times in soft whispers you may allow me to hear,

Still a tiny voice hidden deep within my carnal mind
does stir my soul to always follow the road not taken
never really knowing exactly what inside I may find,

For before I was born you knew me and all I may be
a privilege given to everyone chosen of this world
whom upon your return will be reborn forever sin free,

As you shall bestow everlasting life upon every soul
who faithfully overcome and endure until the very end
your future sons and daughters eons ago once foretold,

Every name written in the book of life shall be as one
mortal flesh shall become spirit made immortal reborn
in the likeness and image of God the Father and the Son

Limits

Within me there is greatness
held back by popular opinion
limitations have been formed to bury me
This life is full so scorn
so much waiting and wishing
decisions are not my own
Chains have been placed upon me
placing blinders upon eyes
the complete picture is not clear
Dreams are present
reality feels like bonds
truth has imprisoned me
while lies have hid the key
Eternal struggles lived
each day they become anew
it leaves one to wonder
how low is low

UNEASY CALM

Uneasy calm! The crystal ball of clearity incompletely serened atmosphere for
serious, sensible decision making.A profane confirmation of black or white,
narrow or wide, positive, negative or neutral response.A turning point!
Uneasy calm!Pervades the air in an atmosphere of temporary settled confusion,
upheaval and general uncertainties awaiting a definite final answer.Certainly a
concise decision must follow;the starting point of chains of reactions.
Uneasy calm! The think thank of all the egg heads of all world opinion leaders
and eiderstate's men.Clear mindedness is the game.No mistakes!Could be
costly! All details must be censored and put in place now.Alright!
Uneasy calm!A situation that calls for serious sober reflections and concise
collation of all relevant statistics, logistics and vital necessary information to forge
ahead. The complete picture of the expressed definite answer.
Uneasy calm!Your dimensions are multifaroius.Good or bad!Peace or war!
Enjoyment or suffering! You have the final answer.Egg heads! You cannot afford to
make mistakes at this point. No!No!!No!!!Not at all.We count on you.
Uneasy calm!Dialogue, compromise, fairplay and finding alternative lasting
solutions to problem solving is your best option.War is completely out of the
game!Reason! There are millions of positive options at your disposal.Choose!
Uneasy calm!Your best choice is satety of human life's and peace for all nations.
This is the only antidote and best tonic for the world at the moment.Peace!Peace!!
Peace!!! is golden.Embrace it!
Uneasy calm!Your only legacy is an unalloyed world stability and unity among all
nations.Nobody is screening or judging anybody.Everybody has a right to his own
opinion!Pick the positive ones to move the world forward.Calm down!Embrace
peace always.
Uneasy calm! The world is an egg that is placed delicately in your hands for
keeps at the moment. It must not break.Scrutinize and weigh all options very
well.Your time must be remembered for good.
Uneasy calm! You are close to the best options.Use all machinery at your
disposal.human resources and ideas, technology and fine details firmly on
ground
to move forward. The world is at your mercy.Restrain!

The Ugly Chords

I
heard you
in your room
playing those chords
on the piano
and they sounded ugly
seeming unharmonious
but the Lord brought a thought to mind
that ugly chords, like puzzle pieces
by themselves are not the complete picture
put them together with other notes
and beautiful noise will break forth
perfect sense is realized
when links are complete
unattractive
boring chords
after all
fit.

Awful

Is awful simply animal that is awful
Or is it something besides its looks not casual?
Something that will dazzle
Within the soul of this devil

Looking like large griffin with serpent tail
And huge claws that can impale
Like a beast from horror tale
Complete picture grey wings would in tale

The awe inspiring tales about the beast there is no lack
One man when he so it he had a heart attack
Awful devoured crows it would attack
One man saw it circling his shack

But maybe that is not all
Maybe it is a supernatural being after all
That what would really put terror in man’s soul
Is that not from Earth but shadow expanse he would fall?

Stepping out slowly

I couldn't come to visit you,
After we followed up behind you,
And the four men carrying;
They really had no right to.

Some difficult path that was, wasn't it,
Putting you into box, then leaving you,
Lowered under turf?
I thought my gaunt expression then,
Would sink like turf should. Put away,
Forget; the buried soil, the rot.

And yet, it still catches me occasionally,
When I think of the last complete picture
Before this. I cannot go back
At you sticking up, erect; refusing death.

I will think some allusive thought,
That you are up and about walking
The mass of graves late at night,
Refusing to sink.

How do I handle your still fresh grave
And settle you to sleep in my heart?
I cannot bare coming back with you
Running rampant through my veins.
There is no relief in putting your face
Away in boxes where I do not cease to see
You reminding me constant,
As every beat, you add a murmur too.

When I have trouble finding your mark,
Your precise spot, I will visit again
Your plot that set you out from every stone,
Is ground, just land that settles down
And makes it right.
Everyone the same, today, and
Tomorrow's light.

In Your Arms

Holding you close
The little drummer boy
Continually passed
Until you gave him a chance
Saw something deeper
Beyond the less than sterling appearance
He just needed someone in the flesh
To believe in him
Reveal the gifts
That were hidden
In the junk, muck
Of traumatic passages
Without warning
This beast would marry
A beautiful wife such as you
Mawkish?
Sentimental?
Do I really care about others say?
You know the answer
And its been a disservice to you
For giving you just a glimpse
Of the joyous, monumental
Complete picture of what's inside my soul
I wanna grow old with you
So until…I'm in your arms again.
