The Sole of a Soul

I am writing this poem about you!

It’s not an easy thing to do
because I don’t know you.
But I know there are billions
of people on this planet.
Some will die while I write this and
while you read it others will be born.
Most have two arms,
two legs, and two eyes
one heart, one brain,
one mouth to speak with.
We are all the same.
People are people but
we don’t think alike.
Some of us love each other,
others hate everyone;
most do both unequally –
we choose what we think,
and we think differently.

You are the perfect subject for a poem.
You are the same as everyone
and like no other before you;
unique to yourself, exclusive to none.
You elude the common
and illude the extraordinary.

You are a homophone for the human race.
Are we not all homophones of each other?
A complacence to complaisance,
and effect to an affect, a tear to a tear,
the sole of a soul.
A homophone like you may be too
large a subject for one poem,
too complicated, too complex.

So, I will write about my cat instead,
a car ran over him yesterday
he is dead; and I have, in my fridge,
a half can of cat food in a plastic bag
useless and taking up space
and there is no homophone for that.

Twist Us Twain

‘TWIST US TWAIN

O’ swift flying gentle Cupid
Piercing my sorrowful heart with love
Setting the pleasure precisely turgid
To woo my Queen like a princess dove
Without haste or delay of curious youths
But calculating the effects of the ploy
When her whispers fall soft as dust motes
Bringing widening ripples of calmly joy
Eyes shadowing pledges of complaisance
I foreseeing an approaching explosion of passion
In the premature detonations of allegiance
So genuine, my starved thoughts set in motion
Imprisoned in the asylum beneath her eyelids
To explore those lustrous pink-rosed lips
And a cocooned cone of soft warm ****
A diet in a hundred years I will daily upon hungrily feast
Even if the last chapter of my life death flips
I should know I died in the warmth of her breast.

Beware

I came in to your apartment entrance
In someone's clothes to celebrate a happy
Circumstance.
Even though you didn't finance
This reliance
There was complaisance
No definance
Because of your continuance
I soon had dominance.
When you didn't have me you showed petulance
And discordance.
You had no chance
Of deliverance
From the death dance.
Gone from your face is the radiance
Of life as the ambulance
Team loaded up your body with no utterance.
You sent a message loud and clear as life
Goes on that there are people who will always
Want to enhance
And advance
Their life for an empty significant extravagance.

Atrophic Royalty

Too much
Silence
So much
Violence
All is
Discordance

Mother
Father
Bother

I was born a daddy's girl
And i knew my heart would curl
Behind his brick wall
Learning how to fear before i could crawl

Not enough
Patience
Break down
Communication
Every day
Complaisance

Love
Bullet
Swallow

My soul is an over-encumbered whore
With a lovingly withered empty core
I'm not hiding anything from your eyes
I grew to be all my daddy despises

Love brought
Complication
No more
Hesitation
Gun powder
Combustion

Shake me
Break me
Rape me
Kill me

A Love Poem

If it’s wrong for me to love you, let me be wrong
The desires of my heart are for you and for you I long
I shall never take you for granted a long time I have waited
For a chance at an everlasting romance and how I contemplated
It’s like looking in your eyes and feeling every thing you feel
Not counterfeit or synthetic feelings that is ever so real
If I could I would hold you in my arms all day and all night
Enjoying the warmth of your laughter and smile bright as the sun light
As romantic as the moon gazing off the ocean waters at night
Melting in the pot of love and forming in the natures of grace
Cares and concerns in abundance of this eccentric place
Even in death we shall never part for our love is deep within the heart
Embellish by the character of the comfort of your touch how I love it so much
Afraid not to emote no matter how much people envy the beauty of our love
Authentic and unique as a jazz instrumental
This love will flourish and become like the twin towers monumental
Ungodly is not an option for god is who brought me you
For this I owe all my happiness and to you I give my all in all I do
Complaisance your every need the air you breathe I breathe
Knowing as long as your here I won’t be breathless
Hunger and thirst for you I must confess
Letting you know from the first time we kissed my mind was set
No one can change my mind I don’t care what he or she says for you I won’t regret
An angel without the wing yet instill so heavenly
Finally to find the last piece to complete me
Deep inside of me where thy love holds truth.

Unsagacious

Moody's in the mood to short sell
Congress's word to someday pay
sounds harsh but might be as well
political kids spoilin' just to play

forget the lunch, can't break-the-fast
for some, free is freedom to turn away
ignore basic facts, easier to lambaste
opponents and leave tomorrow in disarray

empty rhetoric is taxing my patience
'stead of taxing our monied ability
planking on opinion without complaisance
cliff leap before compromise with civility

chaotic lurching of well-oiled-machine
still with fits and spurts it grinds on
how democracy runs, is anything but clean
gentlemen statesmen's days are long gone

if ever there were, a whole other debate
with contemplative points to be sure
the pros and cons can't always equate
political work is anything but demure

Far Shore

when nothing else was going right
and the shadows seemed to descend on everything
I turned into a kind of nothing
a perched nothing collecting voids
a depressed archaeologist
rummaging dust from dark tombs already looted

and so I went to that far shore
by the violent sea of that distant shore
feeding on what there was:
the bittersweet mornings without sun
the black clouds falling apart on the horizon
the hissing sound of sand moving in the insane wind

since then
I'm ceasing to be human
using minimal doses of complaisance
to deal with the bland memories

and now it's just indifference
just indifference is what i have to offer
for the days that passed
for the days that still insist on arriving
