Premium Member Coffee Colored Memories

It's quiet whisper stirs my languid mind
Inviting coffee colored memories
A young man's face with future yet defined
Each vapored breath a page in history

Familiar apparitions reappear
Whose images I dare not chase away
The roads they traveled, washed out by my tears
This morning's chill a bridge to yesterday

Then as the welcome sun breaks o'er the trees
I find myself...

Premium Member Rose Colored Glass

He sees the rose in her cheeks
She sees the wrinkles of time in her mirror

He sees the long, flowing brunette of her shining hair
She sees wisps of grey, dull hair that she can't manage

He sees shine and twinkle in her blue eyes
She sees her reflection through corrective lenses

He holds the soft, smooth hand that wears...

Rose-Colored Passion

it's raining again,
been this way for days;
swirls of graying clouds
hiding the blue of skies
and my eyes

my lips
seem wetter
than everything else
that rises
without sun,

the river's rising again,
perhaps higher than my own ego
as i lose myself
in the pockets of current.

current, and past events
build this dam
against what it is
that i love,

damn her
and them the same.

i lay, head...

Premium Member Rainbow Colored Camouflage

 Very many years ago,
In the land of rich men called NO,
Bobo, a poor man, had nowhere to go,
"Give me a little space to stay", he pleaded, but lo,
"Your place is out of the city," they shooed him and so,
Outside he stayed in sun, rain and snow,
 Rainbows glowed, stars shone,...

Premium Member 'colored Specks'

Like colored specks on a dull canvas
You can live your life
The different shades of your array
Will make an elegant display

The sometimes blurred lines
You create
Will be your unique story
Not just for your eyes but for the world to see
Trust yourself enough to go out there
Own your spot in...

Premium Member Rose Colored Memories

It’s easy to remember the good times
Never thinking about the pain
Rose colored memories of sunshine
We forgot about the rain
Times were so much harder then
Sometimes not a penny to our name
Fighting just to make ends meet
But I’d go back there just the same
It seems we were much poorer
No luxuries I recollect
But we worked for what we...

Premium Member His Many Colored Coats

He didn't have a coat of many colors
he had many coats in different colors
each day he wore a different one
whatever struck his fancy, his mood
whatever made me feel suave, cool
whatever made him feel mannishly approved

He changed those colors
in kaleidoscope speed
so fast that it seemed
he had a coat of many colors
yet in the end
he wound up...

Premium Member Summer-Colored

So many memories I have are summer-colored, like those walking-down-the-lane days recalled in various hues of green. Green for Grandpa’s cornfields spread all around us and green for the grass on which my sisters and I used to run and play.

Besides that color green, which prettily surrounded me through all...

The Myriad Colored Land

Crowned with a tiara,precious white,
crashing at the heels turquoise tide.
here all known colors exude through ,
at every step diversities brew.

The winds of past,
would forever last.
waltzing around the weaver's needle,
or reverberating through the artisan's chisel.

through the mystic roads,
clad in saffron robes.
saints chase the ultimate solution,
--a path towards salvation.

Not in a folklore or a song
here the palanquin...

Premium Member Rainbow Colored Camouflage

I slid down the rainbow
Yet you couldn't see
all my colourful friends
escaping insanity

Unicorns and fairies
dancing in rainbow light
If we weren't camouflaged
we might give you a fright

Some friends are bright yellow
others are quite deep blue
Seven colours to choose
many wore more than two

My friend, Count Dracula
is mostly fond of red
The Dye from his clothing
was gifted by...

Premium Member An Autumnal Sonnet

The naked night, the wailing wind;
leaves in their flight are summers end.
Betwixt occult and morning’s light
moon stands, it’s her birthright.

Ghost-nests revealed in abandoned limbs;
wind wails and peals its adieu hymns.
Birds left will feed on frozen meals;
squirrels will plead for fruity fields.

As Earth beds down for an annual sleep;
wear...

Premium Member Broken, Colored Glass

he gathers bits of colored glass he finds
the odd bouquet of flowers past their prime
the flotsam from the street
once useful in a former time
some torn out pages from a well-worn book
to kindle fires, or take another look
no reason and no rhyme
to what goes in the shopping cart, is left behind

It is a lonely life,...
