In a little purse she carried
She called “her so many things,”
When her Mama had to tarry,
She’d play with her so many “blings.”

There was a ten cent plastic dolly,
A handkerchief for her nose;
A rock of a pinkish color,
In the general shape of a rose.

Her little purse finally discarded,
For a red backpack filled with books,
A collection of lipsticks, a cell phone,
With pictures of boys with good looks.

Little girl’s purse is now a Femdi,
She grew up so rich and so wise,
It is filled with money and makeup,
A collection of no surprise.

It must be in our genes to collect things.
Our bounty paraded along tables and mantles.
Eventually life shifts gears and priorities change.
The critics seep in, our collections are thinned.
Just a batch of clutter too soon to be forgotten.
Marbles and shells boxed into attics and closets.
Cabbage patch kids kissing attic spiders in darkness.

Everything will be picked through after the collector is dead.
By people not seen in ages
Collections going from priceless to penny in a half generation.

Premium Member Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus Collections

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will
Grow strangely dim in the
light of His glory and grace."***

OH! When your eyes are turned upon
Jesus! You won't be looking towards
Earthly things. Your heart will indeed
Rejoice and your spirit will sing!***

"Isn't He wonderful, wonderful, wonderful?
Isn't Jesus my Lord wonderful?***

Wonderful! Wonderful! Jesus!
Wonderful! Wonderful! Lord!
Wonderful! Wonderful! Savior!
Wonderful! Wonderful! Friend!***

I can see the wonderful glory of the Lord!
I can see the beautiful glory of the Lord!
Shining down upon the world today!***

What more can we give to Jesus?
When He has given all that He had to
Give us! Should we give Him our Land
and our Silver and Gold!?

When all that He wants is our hearts!
The Golden Keys unlocking our heart's door.
When all He wants is our minds, bodies,
Souls and Spirits!

When all He desires is to be our own
personal friend and redeemer! Once
He has blessed us and kept us!
He sets us free to become a blessing
To our families, and our friends!

Every day Turn! Turn! Turn!
Your eyes upon the face of Jesus!
Every hour Turn! Turn Turn!
Your eyes upon your wonderful Jesus!

Every moment Turn! Turn! Turn!
Your eyes upon your wonderful Jesus!
Every twinkling of your eyes
Turn! Turn! turn!

OH! Why not freely give Him that which
Rightfully should belong to Him?

Why not give unto Him the Golden Keys
Unlocking Your Heart's Door!

Love in Christ Jesus!

I see before me in all array
collections of a bygone day
classic chairs and dated books
clothing and a complete attire
of chairs where I have never sat
and books that I have never read
the clothing that I never wore

Trappings if you will, to seal the span of time
that maybe if my fate allows
I'll sit in the chairs and read the books
and wear the brocaded shirt with the paisley tie

And someday I will give them away
but who would want them anyway

From the Courtship Collections--The Call

Poor wisp of life, upon the billows whisper
A love assailed by storms of uncertainty and defeat.
Across what cruel seas of hope we flee,
My heart and yours alone to steer the course!

My pen is dull, my sword of little force
Our dreams lie open to the winds beat
As out from Love's harbor we pursue
Fleeting with our love, our charm, our hearts true.

Let the night be ours
Let heaven be our seat.
Till the break of day
When we must be gone, away.

How vain the joys our past has sent,
How wrong the love our heart has pent.
But here friendship lies as love springs forth
Bountiful, happy days-left for us-once more!

Seek nor part,
brave the tempest's ire,
Our fated course, this day,
My love, your love, our heart's desire.

Bevy of swans in a sea-fowl cloud,
starling mumuration,whispering aloud.
Wray of quail,where teal spring,
tiding of magpie,as larks nesting, cling.

Nightingale watch a hover of crows,
herd of wrens,hosting sparrows.
Flight of doves,lapwing deceit,
charm of finches,swallows sweet.

Kindle of kittens,knot of toads,
a yoke of oxen shed their load.
Den of snakes,skulk with fox,
shires stabled and boxed.

Business of ferrets,labour with moles,
span of mules in a string of foals.
Harrass of horse,husk of hares,
rake of colts with a stud of mares.

Drove of cattle, with a tribe of goats,
downs of sheep,pack of stoats.
Spider cluster in a thatch,
brood of game,hatched,matched
and despatched.

From the Courtship Collections--The Engagement

A bluebird came upon my path with spirit light
I watched as he tarried along the way
He fluttered in a fury then into a flight
I awaiting to hear what he might say.
His spirit soared, he chirped a rhyme
I listened close, forgetting the time.
And he bespake unto me
A merry day to thee!
I know thou art a child
Listening to the heavenly trees
Caught within a tempest mild.
But, listen close, dear one,
And wiht good fortune I will tell.
The spirit of love and its sails
And this lullalae, now, bid you well!

From the Courtship Collections

A Love Departed

I dreamt once as I lay awake in your arms
That I may greet a day
Beneath the wondrous stars
And sunlit rays
With you, only you, once again.

You were daring, chivalric, and make of valor
And I-I was an innocent girl
A best friend and impetous scholar.
For nights, I sought after thee
Only wishing to say, you complete me.

From the Courtship Collections--An Evening Date

An Evening Date

Once, we lay beneath a starlit sky
And the sheaves of wheat seemed to bow
before the grandeur of our sighs.
I opened my heart to yours that day
Wishing to stay, for eternity, as we lay.

When we were spirits free from mortal mesh
And love unbound in hearts of flesh
It was then my aching heart
would yearn to meet.
Your love--a love that made me complete.
I won't forget you or the love I felt with you.
For I must love because I live
And life in me is what you give.

People in my circle,
Same interest,
Common goal,
The heart's Venn diagram,
Uniting us,
Differentiating us,
In one huge plane,
The boundaries set by nature,
Its beauty is enhanced by the variety,
Rings and shapes intertwined,
They intersect to show us,
A people crafted with peculiarities,
A people with disparate dispositions.

I collect smiles
From those I haven’t seen in a while
They always remind me why
I feel blessed to be a part of their life
Their light, their insight and quiet
Feelings of comradery and cheer
Kindness that is so alive and so real
Love that kindles whispers of inspiration
Flowing through my mind and coloring
My imagination in joy, hope and peace
All the flavors of beautiful dreams!

I gather laughter
From the hearts and souls who share
Parts of their life and love, their wonder
The sweetness of lives so adorable,
So brilliant and warm and promising
Like a flower just opening to show the world
It’s feathery joy, it’s bloom of such glory
Unfading, flaming with vibrant hues
Of peace that whispers of sensational
Attraction to love, praying and praising
The One who creates every amazement!

I store up happiness
From spirits alive with the joy that comes
Alive on the lives of those who know love
Will stir feelings to breath deeply of light
Which pierces the darkness, dancing rays
Of sunny intuition which sooths the gaze with
Delicious freedom from the worry, the fear
That seems to live on broken hearts, broken
By the pain that comes from losing a friend
Losing love that would never ever end
To the past who stares back in wheezing
Wishes, lingering on the emotion who grows silent
Like a prayer being spoken by the soul
Who knows that only God can comfort and heal
With His gentle presence, His grace, His will
To give the gift of contentment to those who
He chooses to love tenderly because He truly is
A good, good Father, a friend, a serenity
So real that we can’t comprehend His creativeness
Or His mystery – He is the One I believe in
With appreciation for His gift to me – His love
That is stronger than any worry, fear or tear
His love is the reason I know what it is to be redeemed
By a grace that lives in the center of love so precious
A love that is alive, the answer to survival…
Jesus, the help who knows all about me and loves me
With a love that is beyond my comprehension.
It is a love that gives and lives forevermore!

I collect this gift for me…
Inside a heart who believes in Him
The One who shines down truth in me
And gives me a second chance to be
The woman that loves unconditionally
With a love that He pours into me!

Blueberries are for sad days
Breezes are for days when you feel
You could lift the moon
Sunlight is for those subliminal moments
When darkness is unfathomable
Because everything is so good
Cranberries are for the times when
One is so angry that the fire can be felt
Rising up from your soul
And into your throat
The bluest skies are to compare
With the indifferent grey ones
And my life is a collection of it all.
When you hear a whisper,
Be ready
For someone is ready to leave you
When tears fall be sure they’re
Falling because they’re unwanted
And when you remember your losses
Try to think of what you’ve gained in spite of them
And whose losses are they to begin with?

Record Collections

In a closet, stuffed in bags,
My records gather dust.
The player’s gone and speakers, too,
But keeping them’s a must.

My friend is giving hers away,
But on the other side,
My sister got my cousin’s batch,
Passed to her when he died.

I hear that vinyl’s coming back,
Yet those of us of age,
Remember our collections,
Adding groups we saw on stage.*

It was a thrill to hear a song
And buy a new LP,
Which way back then was how
We gained accessibility.

A needle on a record,
Careful, so it wouldn’t scratch,
Did provide a magic feeling that
No other modes can match.
