Best Cochlear Poems

Cinderfella
Standing in the wings, on the periphery

of her cultivated world, inhibited only by

station and space, my head slowly spins

into her orbit, my eye lids twitter nervously,

my titillated ears vibrate, my hands tremble,

inner being disassembles, kneeling in deep

contrition, my flattering pose, covered by

plebeian skin, without merit...

A dopamine-drenched frontal lobe drowns in an amphetamine's amine receptors,
Exciting the neurotransmission of the cognitive euphoria in its grandiose risen scepter.

Motivation awakens alongside focus and patience in the stimulated ADHD brain,
Which, without a pill, is a tiring wiring of knotted neurons whose firing is...

Premium Member The Noise
Suddenly a peculiar audible yet indescribable cacophony plays inside my head,
A thick constant racket of insectoid screams terrorizing me as I lay inside my bed.

Here it is again, in its orchestrated cricketing song behind my dry retinitis,
Sound bloodying my equilibrium from the unknown...

Starry Eyed Cloud of Surreal Angels
starry eyed cloud of surreal angels

utmost nadir of despair found
this atheist craning his neck skyward
hearing resplendent August
choral symphony may sound absurd,
but...mine supreme auditory sense

(compensated with poor vision,
i.e. extreme myopia) genetically injured
acute undoubted gifted courtesy,
viz cochlear ability crystal clear
also heard kindled melodious Lord

and lady joyously plucked...

In the orange tree
a fledgling mockingbird's
needle shriek
stabs the cochlear idyll
of our garden.

I can't bring myself
to the cemetery
where summer's ascendant fahrenheit
pummels orchids on your grave
that I didn't place,
the very arcs of white halos
blooming beside the patio
in shaded numbness.

Now my prayer is for lilac silence
of shy...

When I Am With You
When I'm with you,
                        Time stops.
The paradox: Time goes,
Like the thin web a dream becomes upon waking, barely discernable and then...

Whitish
lying mid-dazed, on the great floor
beside the double double-hung window
i lounge, and snooze - sun-warmed lizard
and realize i hear the sounds of crickets;
a stridulation of exo-legs bowed
growing out of the lush grazing of daydream

knowing that, it being mid-winter i cannot
actually hear any of family...

It Can Be Only You
I was a boy when we met .
Soulless with no practice to test ,
Selfless, that I couldn't share you my chest ,
And I remained so fallen as a chrest .

A numbnut who new nothing of love and loving ,
So is flaws and soft pawns ,
But...

Bone Beach

Over barren beachheads,
Where ephemeral waves roil,
Shattered tides
Wonder of life left behind
In empty wombs that once bore pearls.

A cemetery of fleshless carrions remains
In bleached bone
To build conundrums of calcium,
Birthed in youthful rings,
In relics of festive gluttony
Without tombstones.

Abandoned
Sanctuaries, exposed,
Burn like bare flesh
From raw...

Black Script
After the skin, the corti
were trying to measure the silence
before the cloudburst.

The white noises were
very accurate, disciplined shouts
ready to pull down the stapes.

A cochlear fall from the
great heights of vesuvian peak.
No matter how big was the chasm.

You have given up yourself
to broken...

Premium Member Horizon Tide
In hearing what’s hiding in the horizon’s insidious tide,
Autumnal terror trickles into my cochlear sides.

Whence warmth has melded the meadows with mind,
What’s welded is melted by the temperature’s decline.

And thus from the Earth a consciousness slips,
As a leaf believes that its tree no longer offers...

Resting In Benign Pleasure
Resting in Benign Pleasure
By Sy Roth

They watched me,
Waiting for a segue.
Continuously gazing at me
A waxen bowl of fruit
Tantalizing,
Clinging to my every move
Like lichen on the leeward side of an ancient oak,
Like barnacles on the underbelly of a ship
Gasping expectantly
Awaiting...
