Best Chip Poems

The Chip

As imperfection fills our lives
                              perfection, we crave still
I think about just what it means
and how it pains our will

The quest for what does not exist
the drive to make it right
The disappointment that ensues
at how we lose the fight

The chip that flaws my favorite bowl
                               may bother me and yet
It simply adds to stories past
                                 and one I won’t forget

The ding, the dent, the thread that bares
                               the soul that loses trust
They still have value in the love
that thrives and so we must

Consider how the chip relates
to life and love and soul
It’s just a piece of what we are
and not what makes us whole

I want to look like that potato chip
And be on the front of time magazine
Wear the latest fashions, I'll be so hip
I'll be the best French fry you've ever seen

And be on the front of time magazine
I will be the envy of all my friends
I'll be the best French fry you've ever seen
Keeping up with the latest fashion trends.

I will be the envy of all my friends
Wear the latest fashions, I'll be so hip
Keeping up with the latest fashion trends
I want to look like that potato chip.

(In the uk French fries are called chips and potato chips in the US are called crisps in the UK)

i sit here on the toilet
looking at the cane by my side
when did this happen?

its pronged feet could, at any moment,
scamper into a tidal pool, so much does it
remind me of a robotic crab

my mornings now consist of pills, shuffling
to the next room to pour cereal
then work up a **** before I can
leave the house
When did this happen?

bodily functions take priority as
I can no longer trust this body not
to embarrass me in public
when did this happen?

my knees are shot to hell
my bowels rumble and twist
my arthritis tears at me with sharp little teeth
my vision is perfect, cataracts
blasted away by another robot
when did this happen?

the other day my mind went on a holiday
leaving me behind, confused and blank,
 frightened
is this a harbinger of what’s to come
when did this happen?

The Chip On My Shoulder

The chip on my shoulder, was the missing piece of the cross ---
Jesus took it off on that day, I accepted Him as my Holy Boss ---
People often told me that someday someone would knock it off ---
All I would do is smile, when they lectured me with their scoff ---
The Lord was waiting for that joyous and special day ---
When I accepted for my salvation the life, the truth and the way ---
I felt a heavy burden of sin being lifted from my troubled soul ---
On that day, when that chip of wood made the cross complete and whole.

Yodels, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Ring-Dings

it doesn't take a lot
to make some people happy
a midnight snack of goodies
with that, oh so sweet, cold milk

could be Malomars,Fig Newtons,
or those yummy chocolate covered
Ring-Dings......
just a small sampling of how
sometimes these small wonders
help us deal with bigger things...

my favorite is the milk, perhaps with
a Pepperidge Farm cookie too...
oh, the Gods were so generous
when they created such as these anew,

sometimes I barely remember
the late evening goodie raid
it's the tell-tale chocolate stains
on my pillow, or sheets where I had laid
that brings it back to me
the price that now must be paid

laundry a day earlier than planned,
another diet quickly canned,
how come I can't stand
the thought of my choclate covered hand
so tonight I hope I strand...
those devilishly delicious treats grand

should I tie myself to the bed?
and let an elf get them for me instead?

all right, this sweet talk is now done
say, I wonder about that bear-claw bun......

This is a new twist...
created by me...
of an old favorite recipe...
that you will soon see.
It starts out the same...
as the package will show...
then comes the new stuff...
which I'll let you know.
First change to occur...
has to do with the butter...
you use to need two cubes...
now use only one.
Then add an equal amount of coconut oil...
Isn't this fun!
The next change to occur...
has to do with the flour...
use Rice flour instead...
It will give you new found power.
Power to create with no end in sight...
it may not turn out...
but then again it might.
Let your imagination run wild...
as if you're a child.
Try adding marshmallows or trail mix...
perhaps M-N-M's...
you won't run out of ideas...
cause the list never ends.

The Potato Chip Revolution

spawned in the summer of 1853
these sliced succulent deep fried wonders
resulted from the demands of a complaining customer
whose ******** led our man, a one,
mr. george crum
to do his best to satisfy the putz in question by
replacing the humdrum n’ waterlogged n’ sodden,
slithery,
pommes de terre
with
his
new
&
improved
(as thin as could possibly be imagined),
drenched in salt,
deep fried & sizzling,
immaculate conception.

and as you can imagine, mr. cornelius vanderbilt
(said unruly customer),
whom mr. crum felt would most assuredly send back the creation he just made,
again,
for his money back,
instead
had something of an ****** of the taste buds!

and so these
“saratoga chips”
came to be the next big thing---
satisfying lovers of starch, grease & salt, everywhere.

it didn’t take long for word to get to canada where they buried them things in
dill pickle,
ketchup,
jalapeño & cheddar,
salt n’ pepper,
roast chicken---or to
austria where they soak em’ in garlic, bulgaria, where paprika is the taste of the day—
& colombia boasts
mayonesa y limón,
egypt popularized the kebob & stuffed vine leave essence of zest,
you got oregano chips in greece
you got the overwhelming majority chomping down the tayto’s in ireland
whereas in
russia
it is caviar, crab and
shashlik
which make the people salivate.

regardless of where you are or what you are doing
you can get some kind of potato chip
yes,
you can suck down that sodium & grease
mmmmmmmm
i
myself
am currently in something of a sour cream n’ onion phase---
and i must say
i praise the day
that crum went back in the
kitchen
&
angrily
whipped up a batch of
yummyness
for
vandy
to
suck
down---
commencing
la revolución de patatas fritas.

Premium Member Goodbye Mister Chip

The team's fans had lofty expectations.
They were squelched by your miscalculations.
The trades you made provided no improvement.
The team's performance was a bitter disappointment.
Your boys lost some games to mediocre teams.
That caused inability to fulfill some dreams.
A smooth road to travel proved to be rough.
The team's owner said he had seen enough.
You were let go before the end of the season.
Missing the playoffs was the ultimate reason.
Your tenure in Philadelphia is now through.
Wherever you go, may there be better luck for you.

Chocolate Chip

Chocolate Chip
Written By: D. Collins 4/7/17

That gewyness where your palate won’t separate from your tongue.
And once it does, all you want is another one.
It is more addictive than crack doused in ice.
The best you’ve had through your entire life.

There is nothing like it, even with all the drama.
She’s the closest you’ll get to being like Mama.
Shut your mouth, be happy, and enjoy what you get.
Savor the sweet flavor of a chocolate chip.

Let’s do the potato chip boogie
Crunch Crunch. Crunch.
 Twirling with your noogie.
Scrunch. Scrunch. Scrunch.

Shake your chip bag, goodie.
 Hunch. Hunch. Hunch.
Why eat just one, hoodie?
When you can have a bunch?

Wrinkly salt with a fried foogie.
 Scrunch. Scrunch Scrunch.
Let’s do the Potato Chip Boogie.
 Lunch. Lunch. Lunch.

Chip

Electricity harnessed inside,
reproduced thin dimensions,
does a computer chip comprise.

Analog, digital and mixed signal devices,
are the classifications these can reach,
thousands, millions of transistors within minimal sizes.

The chips and integrated circuits find home,
with conductive wiring spun,
on circuit board's copper and electric roads.

Transistors are the key, they come in many types,
considered among the greatest of inventions,
they are the chips brain, and power many a device.

Resisters are placed to prevent bridging effects,
the metallic surfaces are bound,
with solder, an alloy of tin and lead.

Capacitors store energy, pins carry a current,
through the ovens they travel,
sometimes infrared lamps play the furnace.

In 1960 this technology matured,
but chips are not restricted,
to this process, some utilize wafers.

For wafers, silicon is the canvas,
on which the portrait is painted,
low material costs and good temperature ranges to manage.

Many layers make up a wafer's scheme,
it's silicon and aluminum are gray,
but refracted light gives way to reds, blues, yellows and greens.

"Etching" is the process,
of at least two layers of electronically interconnected wafers,
mounted one at a time, cut and polished.

Inexpensive creations, roll out the line,
like a newspaper, churning out new wafers,
instead of one at a time.

The circle takes shape to help prevent brakes,
to fit in as many chips as possible,
and machines can handle them easier this way.

Look close into the heart and observe,
that human mind behind the creation,
has left us a mark of his work.

Be wary dear chip, for though you make possibilities infinite,
with your uses many, and speed fantastic,
it can prove ill, pushing those limits.

In 1956 this tool rose from the mind of man,
perfected in the 1980's, it still gains momentum,
to think, it hails from the humility of sand.

It now can be found in many everyday things,
from computers to cellular phones and cars,
and most likely whatever our future might bring.

Premium Member Sonata -- Lyrics

[Note: These lyrics are intended to accompany the attached “Sonata” by Chip Davis.]

When we first met and you smiled at me,
I knew right then we were meant to be,
Together always you and me,
All through the years.

And when we first touched I heard such a symphony -- it was so sweet,
As it rose to crescendo our hearts racing skipped a beat,
I held you close and we made melodies,
All through the years.

The years passed so quickly in our harmony of hearts,
Sixty years -- seems like yesterday's vow: “til death do us part,”
Oh Lord I dared not dream that you’d depart,
Our golden years.

. [Instrumental]
.
.

Now as your mourners sit in silence listen to your elegy,
The somber notes of a sonata set us free.
Lifting our broken spirits higher, memories of our desire,
For your heart and mine still beat as one.
.
.
.

When we first met you smiled at me, so sweet,
And I knew right away that we were meant to be complete
Together, always, for our love will repeat,
All through the years.

When we first met and you smiled at me, it was so sweet,
And I knew right away that we were meant to be complete
Together, always, our love will repeat,
All through the,
Through the,
All through the years ...
.
.
.

Fish and Chip Babies

Do you have a little time
To knit a vest or two
For the fish and chip babies
Look at the good you will do

Why they called such a name
It's easy when you know
They wrapped their babies way up tight
With newspaper to keep their bodies warm

Do not use light colours
Are the instructions printed on line
Cos they put the vests on the babies
Never again to be clean

They grow out of them
Never washed we're told
But make them looking cheerful
Stripes are nice and bold
