Best Browns Poems

Premium Member Cleveland Browns

The original Browns are not in Cleveland anymore.
They are now known as the Ravens, and they play in Baltimore.
A new Browns team built from scratch has taken their place.
However, the way they have played has been a big disgrace.
Cleveland fans have endured some big-time stormy weather,
since the new Browns can't get their act together.
The Cavaliers and Indians have been playing quite well.
The Browns style of play has really looked like hell.
Folks in Cleveland want to see the season over and done.
Not one single game has the sorry Browns won.
Well, the same old phrase is what we have to hear:
Perhaps the Browns will be better next year.

Mike Browns Body

There was a young man named Brown
Who walked to the store downtown.
He never made it home,
Now an outline in a chalk zone .
Where his body for hours was lain
This created scene, by a cop so mean
Caused an outright global uproar.
While his hands were raised up;
he mowed a human down-
Which caused America's rage.
The masses were now crazed.
The crowd rebelled,People maced and jailed .
But The world chanted Ferguson Down.!
"Burn baby burn America must learn" !
There will be no liberty, til lives rule over property.

Ole Pokey and the Browns

 fable

Farmer Brown never works on Sunday,
for Sunday is special and they go to church.
Two horses in his barn know of kindness
for of kindness, the Browns talk a lot.

Each Sunday one of their two horses,
one horse drives their wagon to church.
The kids are nice kids, Mrs. Brown is joyful, too
joyful and compassionate like Jesus.

This Sunday, the oldest horse stayed back
stayed back with a weak leg to rest.
Looking out the barn, Ole Pokey saw the sheep,
wild and wooly sheep had broke through the gate.

Knowing how important the sheep are …
the sheep are the Brown’s livelihood,
Old Pokey wakes the lazy dog with a start
with a start to start rounding up sheep.

As the family returned from their worship
worship of Almighty God, they found
their horse limping, but pacing the open corral
corralling the sheep back inside.

Children, this story I tell to show you
to show you that kindness to animals pays.
Old Pokey was hurting but that didn’t matter,
what mattered was a love for his master.

Ode To Mcdonald's Hash Browns

Forbidden Pleasure

This morning I had a Hash brown
Something I almost never do
It was greasy and hot
And I liked it a lot
I was sorely tempted
To go back and buy two

The girlish squeals from my booth
Were embarrassing in truth
But I simply could not
Contain my delight
The smile on my face
Could not be erased
As it only grew wider
With each bite

One hundred fifty calories
Seemed as naught to my belly
As I scarfed the last morsel down
And I was not really conscious
Of regret or guilty conscience
Only the memory
Of that Heavenly
…Hash Brown…

Low Tide Browns Bay

Old mooring pylon
 with shag aloft,
wings flapping.
 Fitness freaks with dogs
jog the shore -
 one woman in particular,
her thighs slapping.
 An old heron and I
are amused -
 we fly away,
both of us clapping.

The field stretched across the plains
like a sea of yellow sunrays
glistening off the peaks
of little hills of haystacks
dancing and floating across the fields
On a throne of wheat and wearing
a golden crown.
to honor the fertile ground
of reds and brown.

Les Browns Leap Frog

He was a frog who was really quite neat
while blowing his horn he'd tap his feet
zoot suit attire
his jazz was on fire
canteen frog couples couldn't help but leap

Browns

Muted
Spring death rises from His trees
He painted with more than purple, blues
and
greens
He gave us more than angry reds and the
proverbial mellow yellows
He knows
His children
Needed more hues for our crayons
He created a world within rich earth
Where seeds planted bloom into beauty
and
food and become staffs or knives
He knows
We grow
He created us so.
Rivers of mud and streets of dirt
He knows
We'd want to color it all
So
As always
He provided

Happiness Carol Browns Contest

Happiness

(Carol Browns Contest)

Happiness is a choice
Its Aura has a voice
People are drawn to joy
A smile is a powerful force

What makes me happy?
When people willingly help
Others, with a heart of grace
Without words that leave a welt

When love for all emanates
Not what destruction imparts
Seeing others flickering flames
Upon the candles of their hearts

Elated that I woke another day
To have this time to share
Having yet another moment
To say how much I care

Premium Member Charlie Browns Christmas Show

The honorable Charlie Brown’s Christmas show is a stable in my house
As welcome as “not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse”
Linus’s blanket was used to help the tree look prouder that day
I anticipate the personalities of characters as the story line gives way.’

Lucy is as arrogant and bossy as every overbearing cousin I had.
Schroeder’s piano-playing prowess makes the melody seem glad.
Snoopy gives his best performance in this show every single year.
Pig-pen, the dust-magnet has no other phobias to fear.

Franklin, Sally and Linus all have their individual parts to play.
I anticipate their personalities, there is Patty, so merry and gay.
When she calls Charlie Brown Chuck, there is a fondness felt in my heart.
Charlie Brown’s Christmas Show gives the holidays a wonderful start.

Pink and My Buster Browns

Pink and My Buster Browns

My egg hatched north of the border, Pink is my name
I come from a proud line of egg- layers, poaching is my game
I’ve walked a mile of desert, crossing the Texas sand
I’m here to dip my spurs into the waters of the Rio Grande

I’ve come to quench a rumor that started on the Mexico side
A dandy there’s been crowing and winking his beady eyes
He’s got his reputation alright, he earned it long ago
But he hadn’t met this Road Island Red, squatting here in Mexico

They say he’s a genuine fighting Cock and fast with spur or wing
He’s been strutting with the egg-layers and pecking their chicken feed
He’s scratching around in Laredo, I hear it’s the common belief
Even crowing for the pullets, a double dealing chicken thief

I strut into the fouling yard, my eyes shifting around
I’ve come to pluck a chicken “A new rooster’s in town
The yard is quite and still, not a cackle can be heard
There’s no room in this chicken yard for another crowing bird

I see him fly from the roost and land heavy on the ground
He struts in small circles, as he side-eyes me up and down
The time is high noon and we're standing beak to beak
I look at that blood red comb and my legs start getting weak

His feathers ruffles on his neck, his spurs are gleaming white
His wings hang loose and ready, my heart’s not beating right
My beak starts to pucker in the shape of a pout
I’m flogging it back to Texas, I done chickened out

When I was ten years old I was given a little pink chicken for buying a pair
of Buster Brown Shoes for Easter. Even though everything was against him he lived and grew up to be a mean Road Island Red Rooster. He took
great pleasure in flogging all he could reach even to the point of devising a little trick by tossing a pebble into the air and running to fetch it in order to close the distance to make a strike. My Grandpa was always threatening to blow his head off. He finally jumped a dog over a watermelon rime and was dispatched.
Here’s to Pink, the Road Island Red Rooster

Eyes of sapphire, dazzling blue
Locks my gaze, looks right through
Mine, honey brown, together blends
Behold your beauty apprehends
Heartbeats sync, pulses one
Desire grows, exponential sum
Squared then cubed, the nth degree
This passion that's inside of me
Cannot be measured, yet contained
Impulse, I try to keep well trained
You know, it's there yet out of view
I want more, I want you

...Someday...

Browns Bookshop

millions of words all neatly filed
silently shouting please try me ,
open my covers escape to my worlds
i’m so small and neat you should buy me
here i could browse linger ‘til i drowse
under their awesome power.

but I wonder if at night
when they switch off the lights
and the town begins to slumber,
do all those words emerge,
mutter, murmur and chunter
practising their sounds
a cacophony that rounds,
bounds and re-bounds
from the walls and ceilings;
does the fiction vie
with those works that try
to instruct;
does the times
thunder at the sun
then in solidarity combine
against the shrill whine
of the weeklies and monthlies,
those frivolous glossies
to whom they are certainly superior
until just before the dawn,
when the world starts to yawn
they all silently glide, slither and slide
back to their proper pages
to wait with the patience of ages
to lure and ensnare me

millions of words all neatly filed
silently shouting please try me ,
open my covers escape to my worlds
i’m so small and neat you should buy me
here i could browse linger ‘til i drowse
under their awesome power.
