- Hold Me Close My Sweet -

Golden enchanting warm beautiful magic
falling behind mountains spell binding
A setting sun bows down relinquishing her throne
paints glowing amber clouds faraway in a distant horizon dreams
She smiled while whispering the few very freeing words
while she ran deeper into her bright future

Darkening skies breathing daylights lastly sighs
her last breath glistening gold dancing with the shadows
rippling waves call out inside one thousand echoes
Darkness slowly swallowing light silk satin ebony
The little lights knew it couldn't last
because evil drifts in
as the shadows of the past

Making way for the stars winking silver
Rocked gently side to side on a smiling moon
an eclipsing marriage
when the sun kisses the moon
golden silvery beautiful
This is how we are going to be;
so holy, magic and so great
we carry experience
with the soul and heart to create

Wordplay Extravaganza

Wordplay Extravaganza Sponsor: John Hamilton Bugs bunny was the silliest hare with such a bright future ahead, he wanted to give Lola something special, but he gave her a carrot instead. He pondered on a different surprise, and wrote Lola a sweet love letter, asking her to marry him, because of her his life was much better. He proof read his proposal and realized he forgot one very special phrase, so he clicked the caret button to insert a few sentiments then pressed save. All he had hoped for was that he expressed his love with his honest words, for he wanted to fill this day with rainbows with sweet songs from Tweety bird. The day flew by and night time arrived, that silly wabbit was nervous, he smelled her scent and watched her approach him, boy was he wordless! “My Lola, from Pensacola, I give you this twenty four karat gold ring, a three carat princess diamond placed gently above the gold and in between. Marry me, my sweet, I'll sweep you off your feet, I'd love to play with your hair...." She said yes, of course...and a few months later there was a family of baby hares.
Homophones used: 1. carrot-A vegetable 2. karat-weight of gold 3. carat-size of diamonds 4. caret-a symbol used to indicate the place in writing material which something is to be inserted. 1. Hare- a rabbit 2. Hair- a growth of filaments forming a coat over the scalp of a humans head ~Date Written: March 18, 2016~

CANDLES

Broken vows and shattered dreams
Bright future that suddenly dims

The heaviness of pain and sorrow
Making you feel like there’s no tomorrow

You start feeling you’re all alone
Facing this cruel world on your own

Everything is looking so bleak
You feel your soul getting very weak

At times like these just close your eyes
Listen to these words so wise

Touch a friend and see the spark
Friendship is like a candle in the dark

Touch more friends and it gets brighter
Making you feel a whole lot better

Until suddenly it’s dark no more
You have finally reached the shore

So when darkness falls do not fear
Think of friends who are sincere

Just reach out and touch a friend
Someone who will stand by you till the end

Let their laughter ring like bells
Light your way with friendship candles

Long Live Nigeria

We have toiled for long
Our forefathers have trend the path
And made their mark
And the rest is history

We have had our share of sorrows
We have had our share of victories
Battles we won, battles we lost
But amidst all these

All we see ahead is our bright future
Although our dreams may be over shadowed by
the wars we are still battling within
Our hopes may be limping by indecisions

Our stability may be wavering
But we aren't giving up!
And definitely, we aren't bowing out!
Truly, Nigeria has had her own share of war

We aren't retreating!
And we surely aren't going to surrender!
And with every painful but purposeful step
We are claiming our position back
as the giant of Africa!

Nigeria is beautiful
and her people, her glory
Maybe slowly, but definitely, God will heal our land
     GOD BLESS NIGERIA
     GOD BLESS AFRICA
     GOD BLESS THE WORLD.

Thy chains oh Farah

I share thy chains oh Farah!
in my hands and heart they hurt.
I share thy stains from afar
for my skies are red and tears fill my pot

I feel the frailty of thy fatherland,
in my heart lays the fallen palestinian.
I feel the fratricide in thy fatherland;
the innocent bloods speak to me: a nigerian

Though my hands are hanged
to the cross of continental border
yet my pen is pegged to thy prayer pad,
together we can end the yellings in yonder

I share thy shoes oh Farah!
walking in the hope of a bright future for all palestinian,
I share thy ship, sailing from afar,
cruising with the compassion of a noble Nigerian.

Route: Broken Love

Our remaining time is ticking
the time we have left to be together
so give me one last kiss
and turn and walk away
truth is my heart screams for you to stop
and turn around
but the road splits here
the blue road that you have chosen
will guide you to a bright future
a future where I am not with you
so please for your sake
keep walking
and don't look back
please don't forget that
I love you so much
and that this pains me to let you go
but I'll stay here and stare at the deserted dawn

Time is slowly slipping away from us
lets share this final kiss
the road splits here
our fate has been decided
the white road that I have chosen
leads me to a future
a lonely future where you are not there
but I will never forget you
even as the dawn approaches
I know this hurts
but please walk away
don't ever forget that
I love you so much
and that it pains me to see you go
but I'll stay right here and stare at the deserted dawn

NEW COUNTRY

My new home is in a new country.
I know very little of the language and culture.
Memories of my old country will be in my heart forever
The love of my old country will always remain.
I leave for a better life and new opportunities
Hoping to make a bright future for me and my family.

Feelings on Our Independence Day

Today 15th August, we are celebrating The 67th Independence day of India. My country Has yet to witness the glimpse Of an enchanting flowering season, When winds would be flowing On the rhythms of changing scenes And Birds and Butterflies Would show their alluring dances To every singing and rejoicing souls with wings. 01 I want to celebrate my independence day And I am trying to bring a smile On my gloomy face But, how can I be cheerful and Relish the celebrations When the freedom of my country is in peril And perennial forces surrounding us Are trying to distract and destroy The peace and prosperity Of a developing nation. 02 How long, We can keep on watching And waiting and believing O’ Dream makers Your false promises of dreams Of a colorful and bright future, When a large number of dream makers Are in the drowning deep waters Of corrupt practices And some even of crimes Of serious nature. 03 Many still want to again secure Their vote banks by dividing people On caste and religion basis Even at the cost of the security Of the nation And at the cost of the forced drifting Of innocent inhabitants Who have left their ancestral homes In search of peace and a shelter Away from their dream place and homes and companions. 04 Many such dream makers Are standing knee deep In the intoxicating river of greed And are carving for For more and more endless wealth, For more power with arms and ammunitions’ And above all a bigger chair From where they can create Nonsense for the nation. 05 Some dream makers For their gains and selfish interest Choose many such persons Who are down to earth corrupt With deep colors and marks On their hands and Even on their faces too Which often proves them As worst criminals. 06 What a pity it is for a nation That has a mighty and strong army And a huge young generation Watching and looking helplessly The ongoing regular game of enemies On its borders And the game of enemies Who are trying to harm my country Within the land, in our own borders. 07 Both the outer and inner enemies Are constantly busy in planning And in creating Infiltration and war like scenes Created by the trained hate mongers As they work in disguise Of a peaceful citizen and Even sometimes In the disguise of a politician. 08 The enemy surrounding the nation Believes in snatching Peace not only of my country And of the Himalayas But even of the entire earth And believes in lies and In violence and destruction Of every kind As their masters wishes to Conquer the earth Not by spreading Love and Peace Like Buddha and Jesus But by Hate and violence At the cost of every possible destruction Of humans and even of Nature. 09 But these countries And the war mongers, who stands on the Foundation of falsehood and cheating Do not understand the strength And courage of our masses and nation and The moral strength and courage of our Armed forces Which is capable to give them A lesson, If some day it would be Necessary for saving the sovereignty Of this peace loving Nation. 10 Ravindra Kanpur India 15th Aug. 2013

The Unpredictable

                                ~The Unpredictable~
The view enlivened her imagination by remembering how
she escaped her long past history of abuse by being judged
over the years she had nightmares as it was not her fault their
eyes were all over her.

She had been down living at the bottom of the valley due to the
aggressiveness of her surroundings their absence of sympathy
and love dissipated she was being punished for many things she
haven't done, she was always to blame as she had nothing in
common she came from a deep different background that
provoked this jealousy.

Being judged will change her attitude voluntarily her
communicating will grow beyond she will not feel trapped
and will not allow herself to suffer her velocity will willfully
create wrath among those who had judged her.

She was ready to show the whole world her shifting to shipshape
will let them yowl and hear no echo.
She will make them feel that she is far to superior she will dismiss
her liaison with this family she will afford to brag about her
brain its beauty will feel attractive and authentic its serenity
will serve to seek a security that will vanquish whoever poured
their venom over her.

The inner woman she knew which had lived with a past
suddenly became a stranger she changed to become
overwhelmed with happiness with a rich soul.

She has been single and skeptic her decision is made to
overcome her shyness by sending a signal towards a
special individual who might cast his spellbound over
her to carry her as far away towards a spiritual sphere.

Her appetite will become apparent to arouse that
aristocrat who will approve to admire her personality
cruise towards a bright future her sensational life will
begin abruptly ignoring the abuse and welcoming freedom
that will prevail towards her adventurous encounter.

One of the biggest moments of her life is when she would find
someone who still believes in love believes in the same goals
and aspirations then her adoration towards him will exude
beyond a birth in her she will amaze her new companion with
her angelic appearance different allure, she hadn't finished the
sentence when she heard the door creak and closes, it was him
her first love when she was younger in age, yesterday he found
her and asked if she was free that happening for a reason of us
meeting at the right time and the right place will get us
together to create a beautiful home for the near future,
that was his message.
They stayed in love since the creaking of that door

education my option

EDUCATION MY OPTION

That i can add one plus one thanks to education
its a hammer that makes me build a good reputation
its the backbone and the pillar of our great nation
i treasure it like oxygen, that, i have to mention.

Mama and papa please take me ton school
marriage is not for me in really need that knowledge
its the key to the door leading to a good life
it may be a muddy pool but in it i wonna dive.

you say its roots are bitter but for sure the fruits are sweet
like dice pineapples the sweetness just drip
then flows like a river carrying along a bright future
converting me from a simple to a perfect creature.

we all live ones but education never ends
just like technology it always trends
its not like fashion it always stands
thats why i crave to have it even if a shred.

Apart from safaricom, education is the better option
in my heart it owns the largest portion
give me a pen and a paper and i will start a motion
walking through my course in education, all the way to my promised nation

Words for the Bride and Groom

Vows have been spoken, the promises made,
God has warned that no one may sever.
The future is rosy, the foundation laid.
You have your sweet dreams of forever and ever.

Mother must give up first rights to her son.
Father has turned over his daughter.
Everyone prays that he is the right one
And that she heeds all her mother has taught her.

Dear Bride and Groom, a bright future is yours,
If you always remember to put your mate first.
Whether the sun shines or whether it pours
You'll double the best and by half cut the worst.

Some strive for riches and some strive for fame,
You'll travel onward toward your goals together.
Your treasure's the one who is sharing your name,
The one who is faithful no matter the weather.

In Her Eyes

She was full of rage she had been crushed into many peices
a broken heart that she thought could not be repaired
she wanted to take her life for she felt she had no life
the way she lived she had the feeling she was already dead
no hope, no joy, no one to care, and no one to love
you could see it in her eyes, a river of tears, flames of destruction..
she had a stare of death, she felt that the future had passed her by
yesterday will never come and today was a mystery
everything she ever feared were in her eyes
had she stopped and dried her eyes for a moment
and looked a little further concentrated on her vision
she would have seen her bright future
and that the good life she never lived was also in her eyes

If Old Men Fought

An old man looking out his door,
gaze fixed on a distant shore,
reminiscing to a time, not of happiness,
or, the prospect of a bright future,
to when he was sick to his very core,
to when as a youth, he went to war

A time before infallibility had meaning,
patriotism and bravado the craze,
the future was still unknown,
vigor for life at its all time high,
a time for romance, partying, buying,
no thought of pain, deformity, dying

Too young to understand or question,
ship to foreign shore, medals abound,
will impress the girls next time in town,
sacrifice not temporary,
forever more,
a legacy etched into a wall, few will remember,
flesh shredded, burned, torn,
families mourn

A time, when he willingly went to war,
will happen no more,
all lost in youth, now unrelenting,
no blind obedience,
minimal risk,
long life, his number one ambition

As he turns back from the door,
he thinks of the youth,
here now, soon no more,
lessons never learned,
the call to war,
to common the roar,
complacency the mood,
another generation removed

The old man agonizes
over what was originally not known,
war is preventable,
life too precious to waste,
the solution simple,
his vision, maybe too late

Send old men to the front to fight,
arthritis, heart disease, poor eyesight,
let the youth enjoy their life,
his near over, its only right

Send old men, to the front, to fight
ask them to give up their life,
patriotism and bravado, still alive,
will and desire would not last the night,
old men do not rush to death in their twilight,
failure inevitable, the old man smiles,
knows he's right

Wars not possible,
if old men, are sent to fight

WHAT FAILURE MEANS

Failure is a motivation.
Not an end of those pretty dream.
Giving up is not an option,
Your determination should beam.
Don’t count numbers of rejection,
Nor see your bright future in dim,
Unleash unwanted aggression.
But make most out of things extreme.
Success patiently waits in time,
Do it well and get a good climb
Never stop trying everytime…
In the end you will reach success
Failure is way to happiness
Realized that you’re so much blessed.

A Bright Future

The fallen leaves
of yesterday;
scattered and gone
but not forgotten,
as their colourful brilliance
forever paint
our memories,
lighting the way
for the new blossoms
of tomorrow.

Is This Me

I look at myself in the puddle
That laid just below my feet
Yet when I look at the watery mirror
I see a different reflection of myself.

The person in the reflection
Is a different person of confidence
Someone that is brave and bold
With a bright smile on her face.

She has her head held high
Ready to take on the world
Looking toward a bright future
As she leaves tomorrow behind.

When I look down at her,
Is she looking up at me?
Am I just the tails of the coin,
While she is the head?

Am I just a figment
Of what I was before
That this reflection
Is the aftermath of growth?

Could this be who I am?
Is this woman the real me?
The me I am meant to be?
Or a possible me?

Yet when I looked closely
I could see that the one
Staring back at me
With a confidence smile
Was me...I am that woman.

The reflection in the puddle
Is the me that I am
The one with a smile on her face
Filled with bravery and confidence.

The real me, a figment
I am one and the same
In reality and in the puddle
This is the real me.

PANDEMONIUM

Political upheaval broke our peace to pieces
Absolute monarchy and aristocracy was our big curses
Neglected by our own rulers we struggled
Dictators and merciless killers ruined us from soul
Emerged The French revolution
Momentous event to unfurl poor's life
Orders to establish equality liberty and fraternity
Nationalism suffered a death blow
Inhuman we turned by sending elite to guillotine
Unleashed our own trapped rights and dignity
Marched towards a bright future after " The reign of Pandemonium "

What is life

What is life..... Life is hope. Life cannot be lived without hope Knowledge is the essential ingredients or mix which keeps hope alive. Life is not a race against time but a precious gift. Therefore, with hope and knowledge life should be ridden to its goal. Man by his very impulsive nature could end his life, like the face of coin where heads you win and tail you loose. The two sides of the coin shows the Jerkily and Hyde personality of person where good and bad abides in you. Through hope with experience gained through knowledge you should steer life and keep your head up in extreme bad situations in the cycle of life. When hope is firmly anchored in your soul, life could weather all situations even in the stormy conditions and sail to a bright future. Ravi Sathasivam / Sri Lanka All rights are reserved.
