Premium Member While I Gaze In Your Eyes

While I gaze in your eyes, cool cerulean blue,
Sifting night, straining stars through morning’s sweet dew,
I can fathom the depths of empyreal skies,
Angels fluttering by, riding wild butterflies

While I gaze in your eyes, changing, aqua-blue greening,
I’m sucked into chasms, cascading, careening,
And yield to enticements which meekly disarm,
Seeping virtuous beauty, sad sensuous charm

While I gaze in your eyes, bleeding fiery blue
Ever tempting with treasures, with pleasures for two,
Being caught at the core of a blazing sapphire
Possessing, enthralling, aflame with desire

While I gaze in your eyes, misty emeralds, deep green,
Veiling laughter and banter, and echoes between,
Then I dream, so it seems, in whatever the place,
Of your scent, of your breath, of your radiant face

While I gaze in your eyes, at times placidly blue,
Near’ as calm as the weirs in the woods all bedewed,
Forty winks relegate to a shimmering lake,
Gently floating on lilies, while waiting to wake

While I gaze in your eyes, caught engulfed in the greens
And consigning my fate unto verdant ravines,
My reactions, at length, become shyer and shyer
Reminiscent of ravens at risk in the briar

While I gaze in your eyes, restless, hesitant blues
Overwhelming sensations with turbulent hues,
I’m succumbing to waves of a storm battered sea,
Being cast like a plank, never meant to be free

While I gaze in your eyes, shadowed, Midnight Lake green
Glowing hazy with dreams, misty thoughts so serene,
Sudden silence befalls me, a fast sinking stone,
Looming lost in your eyes, I am never alone

While I gaze in your eyes, saddened, lachrymal blue,
Spilling trickles of rain, pearls obscuring your view,
I’ll attend to your anguish and feelings morose,
Lightly kissing your tears, touching, holding you close

While I gaze in your eyes, pulsing infinite green
Of the earth and of heaven and all in between,
It is simple to see that my hands can hold all
Of the treasures I find which so humbly enthral

While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re bountifully blue,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning is granted to few...

While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re blindingly green,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning cannot be foreseen...

Yet I hope... and I wait...

Premium Member Psalm of the Overwhelmed

When my heart is overwhelmed, I cry to Thee,
Lead me to the Rock that is higher than me,
Thou hast been a shelter from my enemy,
In Thy tabernacle, forever I'll be.
When my spirit within me was overwhelmed,
Then Thou knew my path; my life ship Thou hast helmed,
Thou art my refuge, bring my soul out of jail,
Thou shalt deal bountifully, Thy name I'll hail.

Premium Member Everlasting Love For Me

“I have loved thee with an everlasting love.”*
Precious assurance from the Father above
Expressed by Jeremiah 31:3
Wondrous God’s compassion, bountifully free.

Drawing me near Him with His loving kindness
Portrays His goodness despite my sinfulness
Reaching-out to me, leaving throne of glory
To rescue me from hell’s condemning fury.

“I have loved thee with an everlasting love.”*
Precious assurance from the Father above
Expressed by Jeremiah 31:3
Wondrous God’s compassion, bountifully free.

Midst God’s love reigns bliss of sweet serenity
Vanquishing turmoil with great peace certainty
His grace protects my soul from guilt-causing pain
Offering comfort with whole forgiveness gain.

“I have loved thee with an everlasting love.”*
Precious assurance from the Father above
Expressed by Jeremiah 31:3
Wondrous God’s compassion, bountifully free.

Such inspirational verse from the Scriptures
Divinely sublime, propelling faith ventures
Securing me with the Lord’s relationship
Sealing redemption for eternal worship.

“I have loved thee with an everlasting love.”*
Precious assurance from the Father above
Expressed by Jeremiah 31:3
Wondrous God’s compassion, bountifully free.

*Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Approvals I Should Praise

Approvals I Should Praise

The rhythm of my pen knows no bounds
Its ticks, treks, and steps knows no count.
The songs on my lip just loose the count.
No where, I suppose to untie the bond.

Strong bones are so much in here
They touch and squeeze out letters bountifully.
In these bones, many light I have received gracefully.
Linda is one, Andrea is two among all of you there.

You are all amazing guests in this field
Cup of water..., cup of tea come to toast.
Many hugs, many thanks to you, writ and host.
... Eden that crowns my garden and its yields.

Special parcel to my coy mistress, Linda.
All sea, roses...and sweet showers to you.
And my lady Andrea; always brand new!
I love you all... your words in my wall are tender.

Dedicated to:
 Poetrysoup,
Poet Destroyer A,
Andrea Dietrich
and to the rest of Poetrysoupers.

I am Grateful for your warm welcome.

Premium Member Pen In Author's Hand

I would be the pen* in the sovereign Author’s hand
Communicating what He has perfectly planned
Along righteous command of virtuous demand
Toward gracious life that is bountifully grand.

Honoured am I to be gripped with supreme prudence
Exposing heavenly wisdom’s iridescence
Expounding truth of verities’ precious essence
Against the attacks of skeptical impudence.

With prevailing love, mercy and peace as my ink
I can inspire hearts to care as minds of kindness think
Moving commitment beyond dedication brink
Propelling compassion for selfishness to shrink.

As the pen bearing the great Creator’s trademark
I yield to His fingers for miraculous spark
So poems can shine midst nooks in souls hopelessly dark
Drawing them nigh to the Lord and to His voice*, hark.

*Psalm 45:1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Premium Member Beyond Paranormal

Through scientific perspective, they are paranormal
With whimsical understanding, such can be magical
Some philosophers consider those as metaphysical
Unearthly, ethereal, mystical, transcendental…
But my faith in God declares miracles, supernatural.

Biblical creation exposes omnipotence of the Almighty
Forming something out of nothing, producing great beauty
While sustaining the universe as well as its majesty
To others… such is paranormal certainty
Yet my trust in the Lord accepts the facts of divine reality.

Scriptures’ revelation of divine historical blessing
Genesis’ flood and its aftermath events’ pressing
Exodus’ narration of Red Sea land-crossing…
Though paranormal in finite minds’ appraising
They affirm my confidence in the Creator I’m praising.

How about Christ’s incarnation?
Especially His resurrection and ascension??
Showing power to calm storm against malfunction???
Feeding multitudes with supplies’ production????
Beyond paranormal are they… highlighting God’s action!!!

Cognizant of miracles beyond human understanding
My spirit submits to my Master of wise leading
To HIM believing, grateful to His compassionate guarding
Surpassing the paranormal with His care, bountifully exceeding*
While reaching-out by His love constantly extending.

*1Timothy 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

My mind's wall, dripped away liquid
sorrowful Content that

Inherently

My drenched gray feathers were sprayed speckles of sunlit
Orchestrated by your Poetic heart. You
You use your ink in Golding drops,
Wrote on my mind's
wall and it
forever

flowing all over me entireties, now am a fountain of poetic springs Drawn from Your streams
of Love and Hope
And so I say
Merci!
Soupers

Delicately Tasteful, Heartfelt, Mind blowing,

Heavily Heavenly, heartily
Tenderly, poetically

Premium Member Physics of Death

For some,
Living in the slum,
Of life’s shadow,
Saying what does it really matter.
Death hath bequeath,
The end of the shadow,
And all the forms of life’s matter!
.
But it’s only an end of form,
So don’t be alarmed.
It’s not the end of life,
It’s the end of the strife,
That some are calling their life!
.
It’s only our form of matter,
The life’s energy release,
That death has bequeathed,
Of the physical form,
Only mind’s alarm,
While in the physical form!

For the mind of the flesh,
It’s alarm has now passed,
Life has released it’s pieces,
For the pieces of the past,
Death releases at last,
The quality of life’s quantity,
Bountifully!

So now may we learn as we live,
Our life is not strife,
To be sure, it is life,
Let us live, in the form of our matter,
And we won’t be the sadder,
In the scattered,
Lot of the matter,
Of strife's latter!

A being decease,
Is pleased,
I assure you.
Being released unto peace!

Having revealed their fleece,
To the One who really matters,
Who does not scatter,
The matter!

But is able to keep,
Without a seep,
The sheep, of His pastor,
For he is the Master!!

The Elements of Everchange: a Name I Call Myself

LARRY LaVELLE

i call myself the man
it is not a pick-me-upper
it ain't no do-re-me
it is just the way i feel about myself
i call myself the man
one woman still loves me after 30 years of experience in narcissism philosophy
she just shakes her head and smacks me in the back of mine
then she asks me if i want my eggs scrambled with cheese
i just laugh at her and say 'yes mam'
she smiles bashfully as i check her out like we're 16 again
oh she knows it like her favorite classic movie
i will find out how much she knows it later on tonight
the moral of this poem is....i call myself the man....

STUTTERSTEP STEVENSON

i call myself Bountifully Blessed
i was a bully's dream all through school
from the pulling of my permanaps to the sock stolen from my feet....my story was etched in autobiographical filing
my growth became stunted....until you picked me up and dusted me off
through your smile, i was inspired to grow stronger
from there....i was introduced to a New World through your eyes
as a result, i, stutterstep stevenson, was able to find my niche
look at us now....thirteen years of marriage later....you are still causing me to trip all over myself
it still make you giggle in the very same way
even since then, i left the right avenue of stressed
the moral of this poem is....i call myself Bountifully Blessed

POETIC LEFTY

i call myself unconditionally loved
papa strange had a firm hold on me
put blinders on my self esteem yes he did
unbeknownst to me, my usual appearance in constant continuum was looked at as defiance
i can't be me if i can't be myself
how the hell could i exist trying to be like someone else
it has always been comfortable on my street
every now and then some taggers came along and tried to redecorate
however all surfaced on this block was self-cleaning
the same smile was worn on my face when i greeted the roadblock rambler hello
somewhere down the line papa strange moved on to one more vulnerable and gullible
i prayed for that next victim to the Wonderful God Above
though it may not show in my solo forward motion, i am indeed consumed by unconditional love....

Summer

Splendiferous in all her ways, Summer
Utilizes every color, every scent, in mesmerizing beauty,
Melting light into shadow, blending skillfully her arts,
Magnanimously giving us treasuries of memories.
Excellence her standard, her table bountifully spread,
Replete refreshments for the body, mind, and soul.

Premium Member My Ministerial Journey

“But by the grace of God I am what I am…” 1Corinthians 15:10 of the King James Bible

Let me tell you a story…

It is neither fiction nor fantasy
since the main character is yours truly…

Anchored upon scriptural theology
my narrative highlights the Creator’s glory
against pride of carnal hypocrisy…

This is the chronicle of ministerial journey
commencing from momentous encounter at Calvary
when Jesus Christ set me free graciously
against sin’s grievous penalty by His love and mercy…

I was a freshman in our country’s premier university
and the Lord intervened, setting me toward what’s heavenly
though struggling, my spirit heeded to His call obediently
toward divine trek of precious, priceless legacy:
Gospel-sharing and teaching children Bible stories joyously…

With God’s compass directing along wondrous serenity
my spiritual adventure progressed meaningfully
as biblical stewardship reigned over my humanistic philosophy---
thus, enabled to choose what matters most vis-a-vis immortality
I left my prestigious college teaching job for full-time ministry
trusting the Saviour as my Master Who knows best for me…

Midst mission trips, reaching-out travels and volunteer tasks’ array
participating in kingdom-advancement, empowered through prayer-fervency
I am nurtured, nourished for life-building and care-giving simultaneously
allowing me to bloom in discipleship pursuits by His wisdom’s sufficiency
as an orphanage Mom, a learning center Ma’am, serving gladly
a values coach to police lady officers, giving counsel to live righteously
a writer of church newsletter, publishing goodness of the Almighty…

Now, I am still continuing with my journey, blest bountifully
sailing with the Captain of the sea safely
overcoming, by His compassion, doubt and uncertainty
soaring along faith’s flight majestically
vanquishing fear, misery and anxiety
hiking atop supplication-retreat mountains steadfastly
walking with my best Friend around intimate fellowship sweetly
ready for jubilant face-to-face triumphant worship throughout eternity.

Life's Changing Seasons...

As my soul nears it's journeyed winter resting place
memories of past seasons are thoughtfully traced
footpaths that were traveled which gladdened my heart
grateful of the spring which gave me my start

Honeyed by the bee's attracted too sweet nectar
strengthened by the breeze of Nature's mentor
sweet song of birds adjoining trickling brook
was an opening to me of an Earthly book

Scripted purpose...symbolic in every sign
my soul's perseverance willingly resigns
to the ebb 'n flow of universal currents
energizing forces resolutely meant

Joyful guidance toward long awaited embrace
opportunity beckons,Heaven's consoling face
as our Earth...the nursery of the soul,
proper attention paid, then reimbursed with gold

Summer's sun producing autumn fruit
bountifully doled from beginning roots
gestures solemnizing eventual union
Spirits agape fulfilling another aeon....

Premium Member A Seldom Desired Spice

A seldom desired spice

Upon a dusty, remote shelf, lies in wait a spice
to season the meals of your days, your nights
It seems deprivation is the preferred taste
your palate lives its hours, while this spice
hovers over its dreams and your time – lost !

Spice is the light, is the life in ones journey.
Each meal should be sprinkled bountifully
with the essence of this self-imprisoned spice
Who !. - with wild abandon – wants to lay upon
your days, your nights, your hours, with his rainbow

coloured flakes, essences, to relieve, to brighten,
to add flavours to your meals – that your palate
may not - ever – have tasted or has long forgotten.
Spice is the light, is the life in ones journey.
Not one moment should be denied, be lost to eternity.

Echoes of Darkness Pt 1

Part 1 - Denial set the tone for my transgressions . It all began on this day , the day she decided to help with what I’ve come to know as temporary heartbreak . She told me it was going to to be okay , but in that brief moment of reassurance I looked into her eyes , trying to find something i had lost ; ”comfort” but She however , was void of this fact. Days went by and within these days I took it upon myself to dedicate a specific period of my day to continually intoxicate myself with her presence as it provided me with the emotionally healing drug which I had found with her that day and like all drug dealers, She provided this bountifully . After a while, addiction became the new name for what I was doing . To those around us , it was condemned not only because of its dangers but for the important fact that presented itself as her lover . Of course I denied this fact . But unfortunately , they had planted the seed of question in my heart and like every other seed , it took its roots and grew into a tree . I found myself constantly being tormented with thoughts of whether or not I had feelings for this girl , my supposed helper , had I stupidly fallen in love with her ? .These were the questions that ransacked my mind , when suddenly , I was brought back to reality by the sound of her voice, asking me if I was alright . I looked at her , I looked into her eyes , and at that very moment , I felt it . The ultimate surge of a thousand memories , rushing in and playing themselves scene after scene before my very eyes and then I knew . Then I knew ,what I had stepped into and my feet sank , it sank and kept pulling me along with it ; and to my amusement , I did not resist . I had let myself fall into this endless abyss , that is called love .”I’m in love with you” , I said , and as she turned to reply …

I Am a Seed

I am a seed, sown without reason
But one thing i need, thus my season
i am hardly crashed and bruised
totally dampened with hate to the ground
but i wont give up
for i know my time will surely come
see the beautiful trees
they all had to pay price the same
to blossom as see themselves
so therefore i refuse to give up
because i know i aint going to die
for to sprout out bountifully
i will have to succumb to pain
so that i can be refined glittering as gold
this is my lot in this life,
if i want to enjoy, then i will have to endure
so as i endure the twine of pain
i only have one hope that
i am a seed, sown without reason
and one thing i need, thus my season
and in the brightness of this
i will be whole and be full of bliss.
