Best Blinking Poems
a new riddle for the Sphinx
concerns terrorist high jinks
when our free-world countries blink
does bin Laden wink?

Steady in the arch of an old oak tree,
Where limbs have crackled and fallen,
Lives the North Star, saying “hello” to me,
As I wander and watch the night.
There seem to be stars circling around you,
But they roar with the motors of planes,
And I imagine their tired weary passengers,
Sleeping, dozing, longing for their destination.
You meet me each night on my walk,
Though sometimes hidden by a passing cloud.
You remind me of that Holy Star,
And Hope blinks down from above.

Once he winked, she blinked
Soothing stars of love released
All their dreams came true!

Blinking Lights
A light shines out loud
Lightening bug fitters shines blinking
Caressing the rainbow behind
Element of filaments
As evening dawns passes
Shadows of light over the grasses

blinking lightning bugs
twilight stars here and there
ground's shadowy sky
songs of the silence
buzzing musical faint notes
play in unison
diamond glow dress
near their beautiful region
passers smile with joy

Light Verse
Never noticed that my skin was such a funny pink
All I see is pink, that is until I blink
Then I begin to see black
Though it may not be black, its not a proven fact
I love to stare into the darkness
Everyone close to me knows thats where my heart is
As I blink I see them both
Such a beauty they both behold
Alone they are so plain
but when they are together I cant contain
the joy i have inside
When i close my dark brown eyes
The two colors were ment to be
The only two colors i can see
While society doesnt think the same
out of this many beautiful people came
Never knew color ment so much
I mean they feel the same to the touch
Color doesnt matter to me
and a role model is what im trying to be
for all the kids who see a different color when they blink
telling them selves they're wrong to even think
No matter what color you love
We will all end up together blinking above.

you have a mind
that's it
which in itself is victory
scant though it may be
your mileage may vary
on this floating grain of sand
he prayed over and over
be far away be far far away
at least he was smart enough to know
what an idiot at prayer he was
not exactly a random sampling
but life is a subjective objective combo dish
try not to make your singular and perpetual
problems into my singular etc.
since I am a frail hemopheliac
pursued by jackals and hyenas
tracking blood up the stairway
for not acting in a timely manner
but the fact is that the late blossoms
are deeper hued longer and wider too
and that's not a purposeful misnomer
may God part my ass to his ways
if I am shown to be in error
but times change and the irrelevant
eventually sinks noiselessly
into the sea but not just any sea
the exceedingly stormy Sea of Similar
yes some things are similar to others
and that's the mother of all cans of worms
it's a matter of screen resolution
which some may find nauseating
the engineers of Armageddon for example
as the weight of their wagers
crushes your spine and unleashes dragons
whose timely and public pillorying
would greatly benefit a humanity
that screams power to the feeble
hoping that the Universe is a great ******
I used to be a moving target
but now I'm a sitting duck
well not sitting per se
more a catatonic shuffle
that served to confound and confabulate
by who or for what purpose
remains to be investigated
by who or for what purpose
lies beyond my rank and armor
well not sitting per se
more a streak on the horizon
because we need to know the future
because the earthly love rocket
will get us there eventually
now there's a universal
even among the aimless

Free verse
With tears in his eyes
He stares at the cursor
Wanting to type
Fearing he will
The feelings overwhelming
Building in crescendo
The urge to kill
Not another person
But the demons inside
Not knowing the words
To allow to the surface
He watches in amazement
As they come flooding out
Each one brings peace
As it escapes through his fingers
But still, he suffers
As his cascade of words
Offend his very soul
These are not the words of poems
But a triad of word vomit
Staining the screen before him
Yet still he types
To take away the pain
Not wanting to stop
To let out his soul
To explain his thoughts
Why he's about to do
What he's not wanting to do
This is the lowest that he's ever been

Of sun and moon and star to crest
I never felt that I was blessed
I love to sleep inside the mess
Maybe the devil wore a dress
Should I behave inside the cave
With morals to deny the crave
I mate the fate I can not shave
And thus my bliss becomes her slave
A clock work orange where seconds burn
Out and about nowhere to turn
After the hour my flesh will burn
For minutes 'til I'm in the urn
Pretending...living in denial
Only known for a little while
Forsaken by a precious smile
My lust shall thrust something most vile
I love to sleep inside the mess
Maybe the devil wore a dress
Of sun and moon and star to crest
I never felt that I was blessed

Our children are grown with lives of their own…they no longer need us to steer.
Our youngest grandchild is a senior in high school…while our eldest is getting married this year.
How often these day it seems life is quickly passing us by
that moments slip from the present into the past in the blinking of an eye.
It’s funny when you think about it…where the present and past meet
is a moment in our lives that is often bittersweet.
The fact a moment is over so quickly is as bitter as can be
but it’s also sweet knowing that moment has become a memory.
A memory that is oftentimes a lot closer than we think
because when we want to see a particular memory…
all we have to do is blink.
Yes, if we want to think about a memory that’s happened over the years
all we have to do is blink…and that memory appears.
And how often have we found in life that we are also prone
how sometimes when we blink a random memory will pop up on its own.
We should consider ourselves lucky to have lived a life
with a host of memories large and small….
memories we make each day that become tomorrow’s memories we recall.
It’s one of the reasons for our happiness…which today has got me thinking
about all the wonderful memories still to come…
as long as my eyes keep blinking.

Blinkered
Out amongst the milky way
Where the planets walk in silence
There does start a brand new day
It’s an every day occurrence
Blinkered we are by the science
Nothing lives out there they say
Have to listen be compliant
Or get sent to Coventry, hey
There are other earthly spheres
Scattered through the cosmos way
One God mainly is feared
Keeps the inner animal at bay
Walk ye out amongst the comets
Walk amongst the milky way
See the craters as they vomit
All of this is yours to pay
Quicker than a lightening flash
The light ship thunders on it's way
Cosmo Naughts young n brash
Flashing hurtling there today
Finally we meet another
Yes there’s humans this I say
Pattern of one God is a looming
Other species to him pray
Don Johnson 18-may-11
If it rattles round inside your head
slap it on puter till its fed
Blinkered are we bout the cosmos
orderd planning thinks instead
makes sense some plan
