Best Benefaction Poems
In the beginning there was a lonely word but soon after
there was no room at the meagre hostel for the saviour
Sanguine hopes flash-flooded the sanctuary of hearts
sacrificial blood of Christ awaited to be spilt in vain
Spelt out the message of rusty nails corroding on cross
bones mounted the flesh ready for vanishing memories
Lest we forget Christmas it amounts to summits of wrappers
luxurious gifts opulent indigestion after a vainglorious feast
Reindeer and global delivery services occlude the notion that
taking stock is not about counting presents but reducing the cost
Jesus flashes from i-pads I this and I that please give me more
extra goods additional abundance mince pies and stuffing
Belching and flatulent Tim reaches for his heartburn medication
tastes uppers and downers sniffs white powder on bank cards
His wife smears the makeup she grabbed from under the tree
her new perfume a bountiful offering of disguised scented myrrh
No sense for frank frankinsence as she sniffs expensive fragrances
from benefaction bottle’s decadence and reduces benediction to myth
Gift wrap explodes from the fireplace in the mix of unopened packets
just after Father Christmas has made a lucky escape from the scene
Arson of gluttony self-inflicted suffering self-immolation of sorts
sorts out this unholy communion followed by smouldering mourning
The insurance company refuses to pay as they insist that the couple
had backed the wrong course of action in vile contempt of true faith
They however donate a beautiful bible of careful calligraphy
with gilded ornamentation bound in leather and lather of time
There are no walls standing for wailing when Tim and his spouse
and it remains to be seen whether they might find a mangled manger
To resume business as usual or take refuge in meaning and truth
when the word in the beginning had become a sorry blank canvas

THE ELEPHANT
The elephant is big and stout
And strong enough to knock you out
But when he really knows you well
The elephant will like your smell
The elephant is my best friend
For what I hope will never end
The trust we share will never part
For how we care to love by heart
To save the elephant is just
For how we came to earn his trust
And how we know our hearts will be
Attached to him eternally.
LOONEY TUNE
My heart just played a looney tune
When I looked in the mirror
I thought I liked my visage more
But now I like you dearer
I thought my truly gooney self
Was not that looney too
But when I fled the chicken coop
I stole the crazy glue
Don’t bother chasing after me
Because I lost my mind
Don’t lock me in a silent room
Or leave me in a bind
Just let me go to have my fill
Of some familiar moon
Or laugh at me as people will
Who play a looney tune.
THE DESERT
The desert is my favorite place
To be especially
For creatures small and cunning
For Joshua the tree
The challenge is survival
In living every day
To demonstrate the attributes
That help you get away
I love the vegetation
The cactus and the sage
The desert tends to make me wish
That I was half my age
I like to sit and listen to
The lonely desert call
I like to think and ponder on
The meaning of it all
I'm grateful for the desert
The blue sky up above
The desert is the place to be
The place I truly love.
NOW THE DAY IS OVER
Now the day is over
My writing hour is through
The fun I had is how I write this way
In silly words for you
The contest is a fickle thing
A memory at best
The chance to show what you can do
And lose to all the rest
No satisfaction guaranteed
No proof that you are good
No benefaction proves the need
To write the way you should
Sunday is my day of rest
The chance for me to sleep
So when you read at my behest
I'm swimming in the deep.
I enjoy being in tune with nature,
As I sit, I hear such a loving sound.
Reminded of God, our legislature.
From this small hill, I hear him all around.
Melodies of life flow through nature's core,
Floating towards the one who sits on high.
I heard soft notes as the tide came to shore.
And I can sense his divine presence nigh.
Joanna Daniel's part
I enjoy this harmony with nature,
Feeling close to God, as He calls me out,
Each sound reveals His loving portraiture,
He's alive in nature, there is no doubt.
Songs of praise spark my pen, as I listen
To birds chirruping in satisfaction.
A thousand rays on the ocean glisten.
Grateful am I for His benefaction.

One day - a beauty, a blessing, a boon.
One day - a promise, a prospect, a pledge.
At times a faint hope of the unobtainable,
at times a great vision of what's to come.
One day, I yearn to be among equals once more,
to allow wit, warmth, wisdom and wonder
to again have their time in the light around me -
one day to see them, too, have their day.
One day, I long to finish this hateful accounting,
to forever close this tedious, tiresome tab;
to stop thinking, over and over, of the fateful tally:
one more day down, one more damn day done - each day.
One day - the best benefaction for the besieged.
One day - the preeminent panacea of the plagued.
One can keep going, keep fighting, given that one day;
can change it all, if they can only hold on - to one day.
Rear view mirror
Objects, objectively put, are closer
than they appear. But it doesn’t say it all.
With the fair signs that spewed forth once turning to
a slew of pre-twitter pseudo- tweets since.
I once put it down In form Octa-Tri :
In rhyme scheme: aab, bb, ccc .
(“ At the wheel
At night. Uneasy feel.
Narrow misses, though, in nobody’s midst.
Rows of reflectors mark lanes glaring through the mist,
Comforting coolness and sultry night coexist .
Cell service zones change, ding-dongs the phone
Heart fluttering alone
Night unknown”.)
A row of earthy images it failed
rather than showed ,images with eerie
librations and weary nutations .Which
was not Physics, but physiognomy of life.
Like when bashed by kiddy badasses and
basic arithmetic, or when up higher ,
combative but math a behemoth
all the same, and guided perfunctorily
often, and rarely with the right intent.
In the peccadilloes- round, the Tintern
Abbey Sycamore also loomed dour sans
creativity , but the three trees on
the low sky made sense , and then on to
T.ds. equations and tedious times
soured by sleep and steep sloth.
Ingenious in fair measure , now turning
ingenuous on the proving grounds , after,
in the space of a couple of cusps of
light and sound mom was no more and we
whimpered and simpered under a dad who cared
but did not seem to, in his straight-faced mode
Then came falsely flashing , faintly fuming ,
slapdash years of machines and mega hertz,
eggs and vegs, sex and senescence to remain
for ever weighed down by the wayside whey.
Bringing-up-kids-banality apart
( fed mainly on meds for just cough that recurred);
preferring palm-frond’s loftiness cum
deprivation to urban up-for-grabs
benefaction; and the mess of docs, deaths
and a mossy crock of living pain since.
And all the dicey way , never patted
but p(f)anned; tweaked , untweaked ; harmed, ex-harmed;
banked on , debunked ; short-changed, sort-of-changed ;
lumbering on , alive and a-slumbering
and if anything wondering if it’s
not all the mirror’s prim fault
which never once showed my face.
Kindness is bliss.
Compassion spontaneously is innate,
Though difficult to imbibe,
Bet me ,it is simplest to realize.
Today morning,I made an orphan smile,
Believe me,the pleasure I felt was inexpressible,
My mom offered clothes to a beggar in rags,
The mirthful beggar left happily,
Mom in return felt happy too,
Why not out of courtesy try cheering a sad friend
I'm sure, you will feel at peace,
Kindness is directly proportional to happiness,
You practise it and your happiness will be tenfold,
Kindness is a great virtue that vibrates positive energy.
Benefaction done selflessly has greater impact,
It takes more muscles to frown than smile,
Smile to old people,it creates a good stimulus,
It never goes futile,
Feed stray animals..results are so automatic.
If you show kindness to plants,
They grow larger and bear more fruits,
Randomn acts of kindness cause,
a series of emotions for good.
Contest- Randomn acts of kindness.

In its whisperings and articulations
A searchlight into that hidden recess
The bane of acquisitions
Becomes the flight from humility
On which freedom rests
Shall we render benefaction of such
Crude and insidious notions.....
Prayer
We forgot to pray today,
Our mutual supplication,
Benefaction via genuflection,
The midweek start to day,
And we forgot to pray.
We forgot that perfection,
Become a broken situation,
That our human condition,
Was of our own volition,
And we forgot to pray.
We forgot that God’s promise,
Was not to be controlling,
But in a relationship evolving,
That God needs constant permission,
But we forgot to pray.
We forgot to see the simple things,
The rise of sun and dimple things,
Birdsong on a frosty mourn,
The breath of life that does adorn,
And we forgot to pray.
So as we forgot to pray,
Dear God thank you for this day,
Thank you for all that we survey,
That we are fearfully but wondrously made,
And sorry we forgot to pray.

No matter how much
Or how high we push on
In our quest to touch
GOD's sky we ask why
Were we made in the
Image and Likeness of
His Heavenly Highness
Yet sold to the Devil for these
Measely prices our
Souls stolen through
Intricately planned
Niceness heists
Running around in pure
Darkness GOD
"Cut On The Lights"
Give the blind sight
Take away misery's plight
And help us fight
These demons that inhabit and possess
You told us we were blessed
But where is the salvation and the rest
All we go through is "pressure" with no end,
Poured together, now we blend
Rats in mazes with no end
Rat traps with no cheese
A hard life no ease
Angels on our shoulder
Replaced with another devil and 3 boulders
Desires to kneel and pray
For angel wings but
All that emerges from
Our hearts are prayers
For us to live as Evil Kings
Give us evil things
Soul destruction and powerful pistols
Life's goal now is power & riches
No spirit
We look through the looking glass at delusions of grandeur
The devil shows us malice and calls it caesar's palace
Calls it the road to happiness
Road to satisfaction, man's body is his benefaction
Physical rot and mental subtraction, abstraction and retraction
Blood cells manipulate in science labs to produce
Paradigms
Test tube babies
We're all test tubes babies
Surrounded by glass
Trapped in slow moving ice
Rolling our lives
Like slow moving dice
Trife pushed out of our sphere into slavery
Cold hard mask of bravery
White man's emotional treachery
Human debauchery...

Time heals
Promising closure
Shrinking scars like popping bubbles
As it prepares our gift
Times benefaction is objectivity to our past
Building an awareness of yesteryears
Defogging our vision for truth
Generously donating our package of clarity
Time lies only to those
who misuse its precious moments,
Lines entrenched on our face
can devour redeemable blemishes
By gracefully accepting our package
healing eyes can widen to witness dissipating mist
Time promises blessed tomorrows
Let us put away our spinning wheels
plunge forward with our lesson
accept our bequest from Time, and yes!
We will have morning smiles
One of a kind there'll never be another you
what you hold in your heart to them have held true
I've looked upon the core of what you store within
for me you exist as unique among all men
The song that you sing it's truths held so high
oppression of those different wherein injustice lie
to the robing of nature her diversity and vest
in a poem of tone inequities do you suggest
The external show some may just see as art
but what you paint and sing and write demonstrates your heart
I told you early on I judge not by outward show
but what is seated inside that I wish to know
All that you paint on canvas and in song
demonstrates reality and courses right and wrong
what you depict sets forth description of your mind
a spectrum of vision coloring inferior to whats fine
I even see the sweet things you so carefully thought hid
been learning to read have I ever since I were a kid
When you looked across that room what did you think you saw
for the night before I saw your minds cognition all
A woman loves a man for who he is inside
the character of his self that he can never hide
for what he thinks and does demonstrates his care
his ability to display and with it others share
Do never judge me like the world which in you live
For the greatest teacher does truthful insight give
what is truly frightening is that I scare myself
that vision is so clear unlike minds so full of stealth
One who is wise will choose a man for his heart
that is his essence where communion can start
perception is his own gift where he chooses to live
to share it with another its benefaction give

I cannot count beyond a limit,
So cannot you,
And almost everybody for that matter,
Our brains have a CPU that has limited counting abilities,
What would have happened if were able to count like computers,
We would have ended being too busy counting,
We have so much of counting and computing to be done,
As shown by the work we do on our counting machines,
Why were we given such limited fare,
And not endowed what we have endowed in our machines,
For one creator did not want us to be in his league,
With advanced counting and calculating abilities,
We would have done just that,
Or about as near as we could get,
For two the creator wanted us to be error prone,
Our learning curve essentially,
Is a series of experiments,
Think of a child, who learns now,
And works later as an adult,
How the child developed all those skills,
Remember he walked to the wrong room,
And was guided back to right place,
And he at first he did only prattle,
Till the time he was taught how to pronounce,
Even as adults error factor remains,
And in fact in this error factor,
We lead our whole lives,
When we do near perfection,
All we get is almighty’s blissful benefaction.

I am grateful for having been granted,
This life, such as it may be,
The simplest of things still make me enchanted
But I know there’s much more, than the little I see.
A new born child grips your finger, with tiny baby hands,
And later when it smiles, and shows it understands,
That you will always be there, no matter what befalls,
And when the child becomes Adult, it’s that moment one recalls.
Life is made up of moments like these,
So is there a price you must pay for it please?
You have to give, before you can take,
And it’s yourself that you give, and for your own sake.
The sum of all happiness, is human interaction,
But the only way it works is if it’s selfless benefaction,
If aims are materialistic your rewards you will receive,
But happiness it will not buy do not yourself, deceive.
