A violet floral river
Quietly meanders through beds
Of fragrant gold tulip blossoms
With their close connection of heads.

Next a glorious crimson field
Catches the eyes in such display
That a view of such enchanting
Beauty, just takes one's breath away.

Everywhere you look lives colors
In most every inviting hue.
Asiatic lily mixes.......
Entice a captivating view.

Trees filled with rosy hued blossoms
That share their petals in the breeze
Fall softly upon daffodils
With line curved pretty paths to please.

Euphoric bliss fills the senses
Within old Holland's wistful arms
In her vibrant flowing gardens
Where grandest, she reveals her charms.

Premium Member My Perennial Garden

My perennial garden is peaceful and tranquil
A timeless place of beauty where calmness will instill
Vibrant blooms emanate sweet and savory scents
No fake or synthetic wafts among the floral presents

Birds flutter and dip in the rustic metal bird baths
While chipmunks nibble and play along their tiny paths
Swirling garden spinners whisper in the light breeze
An illusion of flying spindles, adds a whimsical tease

The solar fountain is a balance of sounds and silence
As water trickles and flows and provides some reliance
Bees and dragonflies hover and then stop to take a drink
As butterflies flutter in vibrant wings of purple and pink

Asiatic lilies open their bright orange petals of luck
Their beauty instills feelings of awe and wonder struck
Hummingbirds often visit the garden to stop and sip
Delicately feeding on phlox while wings flutter and zip

My perennial garden is a sacred and treasured place
Where nature is welcomed to visit and take up space

Spring flowers

Artemisia bear the colourful foliage
Bluebells carpet a magical sight
Coreopsis and cherries blossom
Daffodils are seen in jovial mood
Eranthis buds as the snow melts,
Forsythia screams it's spring time,
Grape hyacinths trumpet arrival
Hellebore shows surprising resilience,
Irises have a charmed goodness,
Japanese anemones pop up in cheer,
Kangaroo paws giggle,
Lilacs give sweeter fragrance
Moss phlox jewels open alongside tulips
Narcissuses dance in joy,
Oriental lilies add colour and drama
Pansy prefers being cool,
Quietude of poppy charms
Redbud feasts for the eyes,
Snowdrop anemone fragrances fortune,
Time for hearty Asiatic lily to hail,
Unfolding beauty of Orchid,
Virginia bluebells and viburnum
Witch hazel adds touch of yellow
X factors in birds of paradise,
Yellow trillium adds a true zing
Zinnia gives lasting affection and goodness.

This VERY SONG is the VERY REASON that I KEEP HOPING that LOVE WILL ONE DAY...'MAYBE'...FIND ME...as 'SHE'...finds...ME! Hoodie

I've got my earphones on
My hoodie says billabong
Writing lyrics about her while playing my favorite song
All the right moves like
Mahjong.
I'm weird so if she's the girl I'm King Kong
Okay okay that sounds so wrong.
Love is a game maybe ping pong.

It's raining notice the high seas?
Have you seen a beauty like this?
I think that she's a Pisces
She's in dreams and memories
Classic like the Asiatic Dynasties
See her in my dreams or maybe some prophecies.
Medicinal like pharmacies
She makes fire Prometheus.
She's law like Archimedes

She's unique
A rare commodity
Elegant lady
The essence of true beauty
Heart of the city
That would be she
If we were together I would be the he
But she's pretty so believe me
I'll go further and show a picture just see
Introspective like a soliloquy
Write poetry
To express emotions and visions non verbally
Adjectives describing her beauty
Make you see
That I am a visionary
Words are like hands that touch your heart but not physically
My words are laced passionately
Showcasing her superior quality
Lyrically
Inter dimensional beyond 3D

I wanna be her first samurai
Her love is up above just look at the sky
Maybe i can be with her if I try
She's so pretty oh my.

Premium Member After the Tulip Tour

The tulips and daffodils
have bloomed en masse,
in the surrounding fields.
The tourists who came to
enjoy them, have gone away.
March and April brought
excitement to our ordinarily
placid lives, but we are glad
to get back to normalcy.
May is almost here and will
undoubtedly bring warmer days.
Our gardens will take over
the spotlight and the big fields
will be populated with large
farm machinery busily working
up the ground and with famers
planting other, less exotic crops.

It is a relief to be able
to take a quick dash to town
for groceries or supplies
without being held up by
clogged roads from the
cars of expectant visitors.

Our spring was exceptionally
early this year and many of
the flower hungry tourists
came too late to see them
in their highest glory.
Indeed, some of the blooms
had been topped already
by the diligent bulb growers.

In our yards and gardens,
lilacs are in bloom,
rhododendrons and azaleas
are coming into their full beauty
and perennial and annual baskets
are decorating our homes.
Peonies and Asiatic poppies
are blazing in the sun.

Our valley is still beautiful
and you are invited
to come again for a more
relaxed and less frantic visit.

In Response

I’m still at it.
illmatic.
religious with a pen
Like a nun with a bad habit.
Read between the lines,
I mainline ink
I’m an addict.
I’m not your regular average
I’m a caveman,
a savage.
Smashing with a passion
Til the paper gets ravaged.
Writing on automatic
My autobiographic
Contains graphic rap tactics
My train of thought
Is Confucius
And Masters of the Arts Of Asiatic
My Memory photographic
The talent of my competition
Sporadic
And spastic
Rhyme skills more fake
Than augmented chests made of plastic
My furious five
Will eat you alive
Like dinosaurs
Straight from the Jurassic
I don’t mean to be rude
Got a bad attitude
Not one for carrying a tool
I’d rather bat splatter a dude
That one yak yakkity fool
Test me to press me
You’ll lose more than your cool
Hanging em up in suspension
Back to the classroom for you
I’ve had it with you
This is real writing
No one writes to be cool
What the F is the matter with you
I’m gonna damage
another amateur
Thinking his WordPlay is on point
I live and die within these lines
Writing verses in cursive
While you overlook the point
So let me explain
This isn’t a game.
Welcome to my forum of pain
I learned to smile in the jungle
While living everyday in the rain
You can’t stand the pressure
In the places from which I came
Pressure creates heat
I’ve been refined in the flame
Been refining my name
My bloodline is Royalty
I’ve learned
And turned loss into gain
So quiet down
And stay outta my lane
You’ve now been introduced
To the mind of king James

ACROSTIC ODE TO SINGAPORE

Urge strikes a feel and flow of obvious appeal,
See a tiny red-dot enroute to places,
Embracing the path of economic will.

Bestow on this land of many dear faces
Use of timely ideas and productive strides,
Yield to our people fond smiles and fine graces.

See this island nation in Asiatic tides,
Immersed with multi-racial community,
Now living the modern age with bustling pride.

Glimpse beyond the struggles of democracy,
Align the prospects of resolute progress:
Pursuit of excellence and competency.

Opting to serve the world via business express,
Reaching outwards and upwards through ample trade,
Exploring better ways and means to progress.

Join our contemporary lifestyle parade:
Open minds that make ordinary things great,
Yes we embark on a quest to keep our grades.

Now and here we gather our wits to greet fate,
Open our hearts to make lifelong learning fit,
Willing to work our way to wealthy estates.

Give all we got to spur progress more discrete,
Employ our best efforts to niche steady bits,
Trust in the truth to live our national grit.

Make what you will of our solemn choice of wit:
Echo our song beyond scenarios that pit.

(Notes: This work is an Ode written in Terza Rima. Each line has eleven syllables throughout for the tercet verses (3-line per verse) and for the final couplet of 2-line verse. I have also added a new part into this Ode: an Acrostic element. This is just an idea to make the composition more interesting and offer another perspective to the reader. This acrostic fit is definitely more cumbersome but well worth the wordplay and effort. Tell me what you think if you have a comment to make. Thanks.)

The Greatest Victory of West

The quintessence of western civilization
and all its marvelous achievement and great future and power
based on one simple fact
of woman freedom and equal position in family and society.

This truth so simple and evident
and so difficult for understanding,
that Mankind thousand years invented
various way and systems for not seen it.

Yes, primarily, it is look as shame and lost,
and often as personal deep tragedy
for Asiatic man
when some or other states
gone toward absolutely equal position of women

But such attitude
unavoidable resulted for great advance
in social life and government body
when man stopped fights with woman
and enslaves her
for the sake of tradition
and starts his own business
ready to win all the world
as did Abraham Lincoln
the greatest president of great state
who saved the nation
and entranced the gate for better future.
But alas! what the cruel irony of history,
he had been captured and even enslaved by woman and wife
in his family and private life!

But history played with results not with emotion,
so even Mohammad
the founder and prophet
of new Islamic ideology and religion
for mans totall dominance
when he launched his move to conquest the World
he shew great respect to his wife Cadicha,
the offspring of influential and rich family in Arabia
while later
when he ascended to power
fall down again
in patriarchal tendencies and traditions
prepared for male totall dominance.
Such course eventially defining the loss
for Islam before Christianity and Judaism
and East before the West.

Destiny demands that we be the debtor
that we sacrafice for the skin of our future,
We left the cradle of the Caucasuses to explore,
to plant the dreams of our Creator,
venturing into the virgin chaos
where the tiger tears apart the trespasser
We made the way, we made love with our Cause,
following the highway of the emerald pasture
from the Euxine to the shimmer of the Yellow Sea
finding war and wealth in the weight of adventure
subduing savages with frightening ferocity
managing frontiers with a proud mercy,
leaving behind our blood's legacy
trading safety for salt, vanity for victory,

Trading safety for salt, vanity for victory
coming home to the Black Sea
introducing steel smelting and a taste for head hunting,
scalping Cimmerians with glee
assailing the Assyrians
extorting Egyptians
respected by Hellenes
dominating Asiatic Indians
cabletowing Celts
and pouncing on Persians,
Phoenicians filled their boats
with exotic Scythian goods,
We were collectors of civilised throats,
our empire needs no roads

Our empire needs no roads,
Saka, Sauromatae, Massagatae, Tocharians, Scythians
We are One, ancient craftsmen and warlords,
our women were the Amazons
Cauterized breast and soldier slayers
Tomyris taught Cyrus
that bloodbaths belong to the losers,
the Scythian wilderness of war jeered Darius,
Zopyrion was made carrion
Alexander wisely just carried on,
to the Romans we were Sarmatian and Hun
Scythes being ancestors to the Gothic Confederation,
a culture canvassing the breadth of all civilization
migrating ever westward into the echo of the sun,

Migrating ever westward into the echo of the sun
bringing our wagons, warcraft, and women
custom of the blood oath quietly open
the wine, and honest blood spun
the two of us swearing in between a lifelong stare
will you be there
when I'm scared,
will you care
when death is there,
will you wait for me
when the war barks near,
will you honor me
when the fire becomes just a whisper,
our oath is our soul keeping

Rising Sun

We are left in the field, forced to labor the land.
Not one tool in hand shall feel wrath.
Yet the vines should fear presence.
We were lead to this point where darkness found.
The morning dew looked as if caught by surprise.
The steps leading to the potato patch, did not even lead to that.

We try to grasp an understanding, although I will not stand under anything given.
For bushels of fruit laced with serpents, seems like deja vu;
Blankets with chicken pox.
We was left in the field forced to labor the land.
Maybe cause my skin is dark instead of light skin.

We ponder in sleep what this supposes to mean.
We strive to move forward, although they push us back.
The willing will rise but what if they meet opposition.
Will they shrink under the skin, or stand boldly in the wind.

I read in between the lines, only noticing
The only thing that is left is the lines without the n.
I am trapped in the belly of the beast,
Called land of the free but we're taxed for everything.
How to escape this matrix, is the only way out is death.

For I will fight into my dying day, then I will go to hell and fight some more.
People never thought of us, as being black the giver of life.
They only stuck on the light I spread, so they can mix words up and serve it
To you backwards my friend.

Remember when you pray at night, we are waiting for you in the morning.
We stare through your windowpane.
We try to alleviate the pain; of the rain.
For us was in the beginning, along with the Asiatic black man.
As you see when you look at us, you staring at the melanin you see.
Just remember one thing without we, the earth would be bare.

This is the reason why birds salute, an educated black man,
For We are the twins of the Rising Sun.

This would be just prior to circa 2000. I'm guessing it's closer to the 80s, but my memory fails, The Philippines was one of three Southeast Asiatic island nations that I went to with my missionary mother on three separate trips.

                     Arrived in Manila at night,
          Marcos was still in power,
and Manila's power was not cooperating quite a bit
                    --frequent blackouts.

It's hot there melting in the bayan tree shade in Olongopo.
I tagged along with my cousins who live in Dagupan, Pagansinan
--their MilkFish is to die for!!!!!

Stayed in a hotel in Baguio very nice tourist area a little snow there
                                    --bit of a contrast.

Visited with more cousins (same family w/Dagupan)
                             in Baccarat, Ilocos Norte.

        Their Filipino dad (d. 101 y.o.) married my Hawaiian cousin (d. 80 y.o.),
                                and they've both passed now,
but half of their family lives in The Philippines and the other half in Hawaii.

Mom's here, so heading back to Manila.
They have these massive shopping malls that are built there in Manila
just so that you lose your mom.

                               Flying south to Zamboanga,
for the tail-end of the mission,
[not a thing I want to add here]

                        I agree,
                                     Pearl of the Orient,
mayhaps a bit biased

but my family there are real gems to me.
