Notes About The Poem

Keukenhoff Gardens

A violet floral river
Quietly meanders through beds
Of fragrant gold tulip blossoms
With their close connection of heads.

Next a glorious crimson field
Catches the eyes in such display
That a view of such enchanting
Beauty, just takes one's breath away.

Everywhere you look lives colors
In most every inviting hue.
Asiatic lily mixes.......
Entice a captivating view.

Trees filled with rosy hued blossoms
That share their petals in the breeze
Fall softly upon daffodils
With line curved pretty paths to please.

Euphoric bliss fills the senses
Within old Holland's wistful arms
In her vibrant flowing gardens
Where grandest, she reveals her charms.

Oh, I do not want to leave this page, this poem. I'm trying to gather my thoughts, so much beauty, on so many levels, exist on this page that I'm on pause (you just can't see it.) Did you write this on sight? Have you sent it to the park? (I just now scrolled and saw I'm in good company - this made POTD - congrats!) If I were giving a class on imagery, I'd use this poem - the imagery is breathtakingly perfect and there is only one thing wrong with the pic, there are people in it. Wow.meltin

I was in a garden center this week when a woman admired my multicolored knit. I thanked her and said I was trying to make my garden look the same. She laughed and said it would be impossible. You have shown by word and deed that in fact it is possible Connie.

Have you ever been there? I live quite near, and the whole area, even far outside the Keukenhof is exquisitely beautiful in spring and summer :)

Hi Connie, this is a colourful vision of excellence. Your words bring forth the vision of such beauty. I do love public gardens that are well kept. I just love walking along the paths and smelling the scents, looking at the wondrous colours. I can be within a multitude of people and yet still feel alone in my peace and joy. This write does bring the peace into my soul. Gentle, beautiful, excellent. I do love the content. This has to be a seven and a Fave. Hugs....Mike. XX
