Premium Member The C Bomb

there he was
in his white coat
afraid of our reaction
as he dropped the C word

we watched it bounce off the floor
and hang there suspended
no one reaching to grab it
we all sat there with a blank stare

pretending to be deaf
frozen in disbelief
biting our tongue
holding our breath

limp arms down our sides
it couldn’t be
how could it be
wanting to unhear the word

but there it was
in all its ugliness
in the middle of the room
while the coat made its exit
that throbbing C word
loaded and sobering
resonating in our ears
leaving us in shock

Death Announcement

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT:BY TSHEPO MBHELE

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR DEATH ANNOUNCED?
A POOL PARTY WITH A BALL THAT WAS BOUNCED
OR TO GO TO THE BAR
ON YOUR BRAND NEW CAR

WHEN YOU FINALLY DECIDE TO DIE
I WONT EVEN PASS BY
IT DOESN’T REALLY BOTHER ME
BECAUSE WHEN YOU WERE ALIVE I LET YOU BE

YOUR NEW HOME
WILL DEFINETLY NOT BE ROME
OR EVEN A SMALL PALACE
JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE CARELESS

SOME WILL DANCE AND SOME WILL CRY
SOME WILL COME JUST TO SAY GOOD BYE
EVEN IF IT IS A DARE
 I DON’T CARE

The Graduation Announcement

The Graduation Announcement

By Elton Camp

To get a gift, it was an obvious try
The name we could barely identify

One to whom we couldn’t relate
Why would we go see graduate?

At the bottom there was a website
“Go here to see what is my delight”

So that site is where we then went
As to the desired gift it gave a hint

The graduate not subtly let all know
By showing a pile of cash with a bow

In our case, it would be a total loss
Into the trash the invite we did toss

Premium Member The Announcement

Sitting at the airport waiting to depart, an announcement came over the air
causing much despair.
I thought to myself don't panic don't get discouraged just be patient and wait!
God is still in the plan even when we don't understand,so I took out my pen and
pad and begin to write. I wanted to distract my mind stay focus so I could
concentrate. People started to complain a few of them started to go temporary
insane, talking about all the things that could be happening to the plane.
I told my brain not to take any of the comments in to stay calm, all this negativity
can do me a lot of harm.
I said don't worry about what you hear and have no fear God is the pilot and he is
always near.

It's only an announcement!

Apostolic Announcement

All who seek to find grace, life and light, come enter through the door of Christ
Bring with you your burdens strong; he’ll forgive of sins and every vice

Let the eyes of your being, through your hearts, witness the truth and light
He died for us as man and came back to us divine, to end the constant night

For the stone that is cast is also the greater stone that he has pushed away
Allowing the rebirth, the forgiveness of sins to exist upon this very day

Asking not why He does so, just know it is done purely out of hope and love
For He has given us the chance, everyone of us, to join Him then above

Ring out, ring out, the bells that tell all of the world, that shares what we know
Go, with Him telling all, we have a chance at living eternal with Him, because He arose

Public Service Announcement

It’s not about ego/
It’s about feeling regal/
Regardless if you're a lion or a seagull/
Something meaningful/
But most just don't get it/
Like how most rhymes are read but soon they will forget it/
I’ve never met it but I’ve felt it/
Something so real only with soul it can be dealt with/
It help me melt it/
To make glitter from grit /
And I’ll be the first to admit I am not ****
Never claim to be either/
But if I said I didn't love it then I’d be a deceiver/
I’m so tired of smothered receiver/ blaming others for you being
An under achiever/ better cleaver that stuff off, and clever something special on/
or you'll end up like one of Life’s chess games and played for just a
Pawn

Love Always

Announcement Prayerful and Frolicsomely Playful: Or, a Canticle I Think I'Ll Be

A canticle I think I'll be,
A rimed thought, hoary and ancient,
Stinking as the dust heaped up empyreal on the hills of
The Judean sands;
And as dulled and dimmed as an archaic coin tarnish'd.
This is what I think I might be.
I'd as lief be this as any other you might care to name.
Valid is this, my remote and removed claim,
And it all began hereon.
O, that was an age ago, that remote and bygone time,
Rimed with hoar-frost and the whitishness of ancientness,
When as blood-soaked, cruciferous hills remote and circumvallatory or else
Perhaps circumferential to the great, walled city, itself circumvallatory;
When all this began.
When this particular beguine to which we've all been dancing lo this many score of years began.
It was as a woman bedecked in black on a Sunday morning newly kissed by the auriferous dawn,
(A goldener dawn than even that on which she met the man whose coffin she was now appointed to follow in a moribund processional, a macabre and solemn, ceremonial dance of death,)
Going down to the fixed graveyard.
That day was as the day on which I first deigned to join this,
And adopting unto myself the sobriquet, shibboleth "A canticle I think I be"
(For I was not permitted to use the full appellation I wished to apply to myself,
Owing to some stupid and recondite rule regarding and regulating the use and due conservation of characters: Yet not those as those of the mainstays of literature, no! I mean to say the characters that are synonymous with words and spaces and punctuation and the like,)
And here the tale ends, though 'twas not Moschean nor Noahide as
I perhaps meant it to be.
Oh, well: All's well that ends well.
(For was this not an idiotic tale, yet a harrowing one, whose lightest word would harrow up the young blood of any and all who saw it, read it, perused it?)

Public Service Announcement Audio Link Included Below

Hip hop is not something that will help you get good girls or guys
It does not buy time nor does it provide an instant tide for you to ride
Hip hop is not the latest toy
It is not meant to be used as something to seek revenge or annoy your parents with
It is not meant to be cast aside as a phase or latest craze until something better comes along
It is a form of self expression
It is not a chance for you to learn to twist trees like these so you could be deemed cool on your first smoke session
Hip hop is what you think
It has nothing to do with what you smoke or what you choose to drink

This is culture
Just because you smoke or sold does not justify your thug enough to hold.

Pull your pants up and fix your fitted cap
Talk a good game and recognise what lane you stay at
THey say my clothes and style aint hip hop
Well excuse me if I don't shop at "hip hop inna box"
I didn't build a personna based on a CD
At age thirteen I decided just to be me
Influenced by surroundings, life experiences, poetry and several dope rappers
Pardon my French, let's be honest, I'm too damn old to be talkin about swagger
So um, Real recognize real and over time, fake can get scraped off the top like solidified cream
Master your high and hold fast to your dream
If your goal is to pimp, dip, and dive through the scene
I'm sorry young cousin, we ain't on the same team
Not sayin you can't really listen to this
Some people get pissed when their culture gets dissed and dismissed as a trend as they passionately defend it
Just sayin tho, respect it, don't try to end it
Pay homage to those who started these flows
And chose to keep heads nodding out of control
It's those who paved the way for you to grow
And expose what you could bring to the show
Keep doing yours as long as you're true
You're bound to reap rewards and get your just due
If not, plan to stay humble, I might rise to the top
If not I still let my tape rock till my tape pop!

After the Announcement

Have you seen sorrow engulfing
A crowd, like a dark cloak
Covering, the lone lamp in the corner.
There are some whispers,
Cow's bells from a world apart.
Announces the end, it's over.

What are you but a spare cog
Why tears, won't you get a job?
I am sorry but I am not open
For you, mate, time to move on.

Yes, time will heal the wound
The earth is bountiful, for who're sincere at work.
Tomorrow will be a brighter day, no doubt
But is this an excuse, for today's shock?

Whatever it is, know it is life
Part happiness, part dipped in pain
The same cloud that brings coolness
May on a sudden bring in rain

The rain will stop, the sun will shine
The cloak'll be removed, the lamp will glow
For it's inevitable that
After today, there'll be a tomorrow.

Yard Birth Announcement - Prelude

Yard Birth Announcement (Prelude)

Eleven years, yet that news unveiling
Still resounds happiness that fills our heart
You may write down your wish, still accepting
And out in the box new hope will start

Embrace this day as another journey
Stepping across the mown grass in a yard
Scent of fulfillment, day will stay early
You will see the rainbow as wishing card

The splendor of eleven years is heaping
Of what you are now is so fast to keep
Days of moving and nights of dreaming
The childish moments in a whirlwind’s sweep

Slowly branching out from our care
Where your fate will be, will follow our prayer

Announcement

Announcement

"State the fact," he tells the board, "announce mid-
morning without warning, too late then to
retaliate. Say, 'Times change, so on your
	way, redundancy accompanies age.'"

Walks easy through his fortress-grounds of trip-
alarms and snarling hounds. Youthful bride is
safely sealed from vengeful pawn and bitter
foe, and waits, consoled by views of vale and
river's-flow, gleaned through rail and safety-gates.

Mower idle on the lawn; barrow still
beside a wall; jobbing-boy holds toil in
scorn. ''We'll propel the youth to manhood with
a jolt. He'll learn the bitter-truth of how
to cope without a job or hope, collect
his due, then face his fate as men must do.''

Holding high the diamond-ring, gift for the
girl with everything – to rent her love and
smile awhile – into the room where hi-fi
croons her favourite tune then, "Christ!" Mind won't
focus with the eyes; wife on table, lips
apart, hair a-splay, radiant as her
wedding day. Boy... a man between her thighs.

An Announcement

"Girls have cooties,"
announced Howard Banks,
in the 4th grade.

"I don't," I replied,
so he kissed me on the cheek.

If only all minds were changed so easily.

Soccer team, one lonely locker room
Door labeled "BOYS".
Where am I, where are we?

Dear Sexism
We have strong legs
and even stronger minds
Remember that
Y chromosome is nothing
without an X

"Girls can't play,"
announced Coach Raymond,
in the 9th grade.

"I can," I replied,
pushed aside the "men"
and scored the goal.
