Premium Member Concerto Allergy

Wheeze in, wheeze out again as pollen
invades two chambers of lungs in
a choral synapse, an orchestral acapella
lifting my bronchial tubes as they
rise and warble high-pitched notes:
this is the melody of allergy
drenched in breathless tunes
right down my now tightened navel
while oxygen dips to 87--a horrific
musical trilling nurses in an otherwise
quiet emergency room...

And this big needle enters my greenish veins
to release a ditty called 'solucortef'
which opens this clogged overture,
sending me through a gateway of trance
as my Einstein-like hair droops, weaving
squeaky knots... finally, I river through
calmer streams: this very instance, dear bladder
sings another tempo, a urinary whistle...
the finale of a long, 3-hour allergy concerto
without any staged intermission.

Allergy Poem

Allergy Poem

Pollen, dog hair, mold and dust.
Make my sinus raise a fuss.

Headaches, itchy eyes, histamine.
Many a season I have seen.

Cough drops, tissues, little red pills;
Drug store prescriptions, druggist fills.

Hot tea, lemon juice, local honey;
I have spent a lot of money.

Allergies can drive you wild.
I've had them since I was a child.

Someday I'll walk through Heavens door.
Then I won't have allergies anymore.

Is
One of
My favored
Season of the year
But the sneezing and itching from
The pollen, mold and weed that blow in the atmosphere
Cause to take antihistaminic and use a box of facial napkins in a day

Christmas Notice

The Malls are filled with Christmas trees
And every one will make me sneeze
No frosty spray
Will save the day
Zealots dub it, "Lumberjack Wheeze".

Nut Allergy Jill

Nut allergy Jill

At last I was alone and my mind stood still
Thinking of a huge green hawk with a rather crooked bill
It was behind the black glass in the house on top of a hill
People thought a witch boiled little children in a cauldron for her fill
Grey smoke from the chimney kept her warm but what fuel was used to keep away the chill
An axe could be seen at the side of the house red as blood and sharp enough to even kill
At night no one dare to step in looking distance near it yet I made a den just for the thrill
There she stood at the door with a broom stick and looked around then stared right at me and said “I’m green eyed Jill”
I panicked and ran but before I could run very far Jill was in front of me saying “are you stupid boy being in these parts for God sakes you must be Ill”
She took me in to her house and sat me down and said “listen little boy I’m hungry” and I quickly said “I’ve got a snickers bar” she said “oh thanks very much that’s just brill”
I watched her eat it in front of me whilst looking I saw that she was starving hungry and very weak and shrill
The old woman looked younger and fitter and not at all frightening like green eyed Jill
She told me that for forty years I have been cursed by a real witch and your gift of food has broken its spell and I said “really” and she said no you stupid bugger now get into the cauldron or I’ll chop your head off with me axe “one born every minute “she said as she threw me into a boiling pot of swill
Then I heard a choking noise coming from the old witch and I jumped out of the pot quickly and before I scarpered she said “I have a nut allergy and I’ll die if I don’t take that pill”
I looked on the table and saw it and said to her “eff off “and I ran home and the next morning I vowed to myself don’t ever be an effing idiot ever again until.

Allergy

I was sitting outside in the garden,
and stroking me cat on the back,
when I must have brushed on a flower,
which angered a wild bee to attack.

Accidentally I made the mistake;
a mistake that brought me to my knees,
and now I have been diagnosed,
that I am quite allergic to bees.

Well it’s not just the presence of bees,
or a problem with bees on the wing,
but it’s usually a flower or hive,
that induces the insect to sting.

I have been stung wearing no shoes,
inadvertently touching a hive,
had black eyes and swelling and eczema,
but been lucky enough to survive.

So the doc says I must be allergic,
for apitoxin has built up in me,
now he’s sent me for allergen tests,
to stave off ‘bee inflammatory.’

While sitting in the waiting room,
a Mother and daughter walked in,
so we started to make conversation,
on allergens which affect us within.

The daughter she held up her hand,
displaying a band on her wrist.
It’s a band for medicinal alert,
for her allergy’s that do persist.

She’s allergic to peanuts and eggs,
wheat, seafood and cottage cheese.
Now they are worried ‘bout chocolate,
but nothing was said about bees.

I asked her if cats are a problem,
but her answer was downbeat and flat.
She lifted her eyebrows and shrugged,
‘I don’t know, for I never eat cat.’

Spring creeps in slowly

Allergy

i set a trap for you
in the beginning
before i knew
you. i planted poison
in the air i knew you'd
breathe- waiting in the
shadows i seethe,
infuriated at your dawdling
at your beautiful lively
ways. each step taken
towards disaster, i grow
more&more afraid- i want
you (move faster) please
stop, understand that i
am allergic to love.

Fragrant Allergy

What perfumed talc in flowers

                                                 the nose to please

                                                  on days of bloom

                                                         like these

                                            when, quite expectedly,

                                               a twitch, a squeeze,

                                          and, pleasurably, you itch

                                                        to sneeze?

...the nose to please
on days of bloom like these

   and quite expectedly,
   oh, so pleasurably,

   a twitch, a tiny squeeze,
   you simply itch to sneeze...!
