The Boy Inside

It was early April and his day was just to begin
Fresh from tears he rose to his feet
The morning mist sprinkled a chill down his back, again she would fail
As in his vision nothing stood between
Hard, trying to fit
Always in sight fo what was to come his way
Many hearts came to judge
But he stood still with a dream to find his real love
In a quest he took off
Cast after cast he bit
Never understanding why so many fell
His heart grew big, and golden to his chest
Elegance for he wanted to be
Flowers he brougth her, only to see the world was real
How many kisses could one steal
Yet the kiss he yearned for the most he never got
A joy to prentend
Another heart to amend
Who would call to his joy
An angel?
He stood to his moon
His hope of a better place, alone
No one came, he wept the night away into dusk
Falling lower and lower
Breathing only to live, he saw nothing ahead
A dead end, a narrow path
Again Romeo was in his mind to chant in romance
To speak of love the way no one else could
He found a medium of self-fulfilment
And he went on to speak of love
Many whom payed audience saw the talent that walked on his verse
Many too did doubt, but he went on
A boy, longing to be a man
Love took him by surprise
He was a boy inside

You Ask Who She Is.

Elegant, yet simple, confident,
Mistaken for a seventeen year old at times,
Goes to the park every weekend,
She spends her summers with her family,
Volleyball under the rain, soda is her addiction,
Education keeps her going, Sugary, Bitter-sweet heart,
Spanish pop singer, her hips dance to life's music,
Movie watcher, Nicholas Sparks reader, books are second world,
Algebra genius, tends to be right, inconvenient attitude,
She zips her mouth shut to keep a secret, this means she's trustworthy,
Little voices in her mind guide her life, light brightens her path,
Walks around in converse high tops, her dresses get blown by the wind,
Her lover receives her kisses, her heart is tender, she needs to be handled with care,
Her life consists of colors, when nothing has light,
Poetry helps her, her pen and her get along perfect,
She runs around a field in soccer cliques,
Likes to go to Burger King, her friends are her third half,
You see her heart is big enough for different people,
She might be able to fill the world in there,
They call her a nerd, for she uses big words, she smiles,
Her dreams are higher than a mountain, she stays strong,
Head low, with horns, she's a bull, she'll fight,
Little kids are her joy, she can play hide and seek for hours,
Never pays attention to her science teacher, listens to her parents,
Enjoys watching wrestling, writes lyrics to finally become a composer,
Studies to become a teacher,
Her dearest cousins became her diary, her teddy bears became her shoulder to cry on,
Jewelry surrounds her body, face pampered with make up,
We all have masks don't we? She doesn't, she's true, only make up covers her identity,
Toes have blue nail polish on them, she wiggles and jiggles along side elders,
She enjoys their wise jokes,
Clumsy, young, life learning, care giving, girl.
You ask who she is?
I will answer, that girl you see, she is me.

Before the Cock Crowed

A man alone is such a small thing
To face a world with hungers
Is not as easy as it seems
His heart and mind are torn between
The Word of God and what he see's
His heart can waver and follow the mind
Fears and worries multiply in time
In the word it says we should fear not
Surrounded by troubles the Word is forgot

A man by day is something else at night
Lust, hunger and greed takes flight
Featherless wings they stretch abroad
Soaring searching without lord
Any kind of hunger can make man steal
"Turn the other cheek" be for real
Maybe in heaven but not in this world
In certain places this make men girls

A man by himself is nothing alone
But a man with faith can stand on his own
Everyman is a failure in his own eyes
Everyfaith a failure till Redeemer finds
No man can do it by himself
A soul like a baby alone needs help
Choose wisely between faith and flesh
No matter what happenes
It's your fate and nothing less

The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak
Both sides of hunger still killing
While those who should be watching
Still sleep

you was a careing person and alway's seem to understand me
what happen too you you turn'ed like a devil in the night , i've
tryed to understand you the best that i could.

your heart was as wild and messed up as a slang you broke down
like something crazy. let people tell you what to do. showe'd the one who
cared and loved you how much of a fool they were to love someone like you.
your really acting crazy right now but you will see there is know one alse goinga love
you like me.

so go ahead and have your fun ' but i'll tell you this in the long run you'll be the lonely one.
i'll move on in life but i know you'll be sorry cause you'll alway's have a heart that will never
settle down and when you do that new love you think you've found will walk all over you
you'll feel just as hurt as i do now for loveing someone like you that wont ever be honest or
true.
so here's my wish this christmas for you! i hope you fall in love so deep that they end up
walking off on you /telling you your not right ! or your a big joke ! or a bootie call . i hope
they breake your heart so bad it takes you forever to get over it.

i hope everything you do everything you say' come's back on you .
i hope love and life treat's you a lesson one that you'll learn .one that'll tear your heart apart
untill lesson learned.

Broken Promise

Eleven years ago so young and naïve, easy to deceive, and dying to please; but, in
these eleven years not once did I understand…

My love was a dream, crushing my heart with his hands.

Determined to make the unrealistic real, I fought for my love and created sex appeal.

Only to find that my dream was only mine wasted so much time to learn your heart
was filled with grime.

Not able to provide what is required of me to be happy. I know your love was real
but your sour love-style didn’t match mine so I cry.

Eleven years ago you promised to love me the way I needed to be loved, said you
wouldn’t lie.

But here I stand now with a plan and faith as a token, to find your all your promise
was broken.

Spread Your Wings

Without spreading your wings, never will you fall
Never in the sunshine, will not be burnt at all
Will never be the fool, if a chance you do not take
If you avoid the spotlight, no embarrassment will you face
No failure will you be, without making effort to achieve
Without a heart wide open, never will you be heartbroken

Without spreading your wings, never will you soar
Never in the sunshine, will never feel the warmth
Will always be the fool, if no chance you did take
If you avoid the spotlight, no glory you will take
No failure you maybe, without effort never will you succeed
Without a heart wide open, never true love you will feel

Spread your wings, the flights worth the fall
Dance in the sunshine, warming your soul
Take every chance, do not miss and regret
Jump in to the spotlight, show us you’re great
Make failure not an option, you will succeed
Open your heart, love is the key

Island In the Sea

Island

There is an island in the sea,
Its where my heart longs to be.
People are friendly and so care free,
Its a place you will love, just you wait and see.

Your very first trip there will take you back in time,
Horse drawn carts and old buildings that look so fine.
As you pass by a stranger on the street they may say,
Come in for a tea and a bite, before your on your way.

Its a small mining town, down by the bay,
To see it all would only take but a day.
In that day you would make plenty of friends,
The next day you just start over again.

In my younger years i had travelled away,
But i hope to return there soon one day.
If you should join me on my trip back home,
I know in your heart you will never feel alone.

I Come From the Heart

From The Heart I Came....
When this poem was in
its rawest form
Before the hand started
writing
The mind was bossing
and boasting
That I originated there
but I know
From the Heart I came....
Like blood running
through the veins
to give life to living blood
cells
I am an expression but
not like a math equation
I am most oftenly
directed at family and
friends and most
importantly God
Him Who is true Goodness
I am a recognition of the
value of kindness
Yes. Without that very
strong affection I can not
exist
I told the mind that when
I come from you I am not
real
If I come from the mind
then I'm as fake as the
word fake itself
I am rarely used. When I
am used,
I release the heavy feeling
of pride. Because;
I come from the Heart.....
GRATITUDE....

Trust Issues

I rather hear the truth then a lie
something so deep that could make
me say goodbye

living for today as if we have no
tommrow I guess my heart you still
cant borrow

I wont someone whos hear for me
as if tommrow is something we cant
see

Theres no I an me or you because of
the things my heart is afraid to do

Frozen Feelings

Like ice and ice
Satin purple ribbon in between
Describe the lines
Echoes, and voice in between
Like a sculpture of an angel
Holding a frozen ice cold heart
She’s the ice princess of your
Fenced in world
Defined by limits of your own mind
Co-sign her heart to dependence
For you can’t overcome the shadows of your past
And the horns sound
To glorify her
And what are you supposed to do
When the world adores the ice princess
Of your heart
If only you could melt her
To only to chisel her
Into your truest of true beauty queen
But no she’s your angel
Frozen and unmoving at times
To an exaggerated few

Sing her praises
Compliment her ways
See the angel and not your past
See the in between lines of what is not being said
Hear the silence of her words
That you are her comfort and company
And your heart is irreplaceable to her
Skate an imperfectly perfect line
As the flowers adorn your love
Yeah, co-sign your lover and skate
On the ice in the vehicle of your chariots
And the song never ends
And the story only bends
And the days grow shorter
And the years grow longer
And together you sing a song together
Melted hearts become one beating
To the sound of its
Own drum

My Feeling Of

i will express to you
in poem form yes that will have to due
since i first laid these eyes upon you
i ve been lost in these feelings
these feelings of complete an utter satisfaction
i don't feel like i have a malfunction
you think i will screw up
im not gonna lie your probably not wrong
i make bad choices
i have bad ideas
im not a lier tho
an i am no thief
im just a silly boy who has a heart that i wish you to keep
turn me away i will not go uh stray1
ill be around but afraid to offer again
if your mind changes an goes a separate path
don't listen to him the one up top
he strategies thoughts
your heart will guide you right to me or another guy
don't trust what it doesn't tell you
don't believe im the one you'll keep.

-among the Dead Entry-

Aliesha Hamrick

-Among the Dead-

The spin of the cylinder echoed in my mind.
I knew I had to follow threw, there was no turning back from this faithful quest.
Deep breaths only made my heart sink deeper in my chest.
I remember him saying, "Raven, don't let this get the best of you".
I felt my heart beating as I held the gun in place.
So many people who couldn't say goodbye, will I ever see another sunrise?
Terrified but not faltering I pulled the trigger, silence.
Relief fell over my face as I passed the gun across the table.
He looked at me with a smirk on his face, held the gun in place and shoved his finger
down, this was no race.
My turn once again, I could only imagine all those gravestones in the black abyss with
the remains of others trying to pass this same test.
With my hand trembling, I raised it, clenching my finger on the trigger.
No more sunrise, no final goodbye's.

One Day

Its been a long fight, as we near the end
Years have passed, and I crack
My heart begins to leak
It no longer pumps at its peak
In a way its grown weak
I stand yet I must fall to speak
Unanswered questions begin to torment my soul
The unknown in affiliation with love is a deadly dose
As one may jump to conclusions in a way blindfolded
Where lays the key?
But it sits upon your hand
And yet you remain silent
O' what am I to see
Will I break to never sing again
will I flee forever out of this scene in which I play the poorest part
I try fiercly yet if I am to fail it will be heart crushing
The remainder of it that is for pieces have gone missing in time
Lost I am
Direction I see none
Tired of this maze I grow
I begin to see the weakness in me
The point that draws between my vey ethics
And I cry, for tomorrow may have light, yet not the bright that I dream of
I wish I knew
I cripple to my feet
I limp to my path
I truly can feel its doubt
Waiting for a chance in which I will step out
What am I to do
I ask yet nothing comes in answer
I loose, game over
I fall to what?
I linger round to see the unwelcoming light
Alas I give in
I surrender
I am no poet
But an instrument of literature
Spin me that I may write
Wrap me in the canvas
As I dry
Surely I die
Good life
To all
Amen.

Francine's Sonnet

Francine's sonnet

Enforced i am by time ,
watch them from a distance.
Enslaved memory sublime,
perhaps i need assistance.

Very sad the what if part,
some must go an some stay.
The breaking of lovely heart,
hurting when they go away.

Francine knows heart throb flows,
little heart does flutter.
Don’t let him come too close,
His name she cannot utter.

Heart frozen like the butter,
when he begins to stutter.

One Deliberate Beat

All the vampires formed a circle around the cage,

the young woman was clever by locking herself in,

as she watched their glare red with rage,

their cold hearts in search of her warm heat,

as her heart began one deliberate beat.

These vampires in one respect were like all the others,

they loved the thrill of the hunt and hated the anguish of defeat,

but the pickings were few,

they looked through the bars and really didn't know what to do.

The leader shook with rage,

the young woman locked in a cage,

he wedged his arm forcefully between the bars,

as the others grunted and looked on with effort,

as she smiled sheepishly and didn't even try to hide,

as they pushed the cage making her stumble inside.

As darkness filtered through the somber forest,

and her heart began to beat again,

deliberately as to tease them to no end.

The vampires breathed wildly as they turned the cage over to the ground,

riddled with rage, clatter and short out-bursts were the only sounds,

all they wanted to do was try to feed,

but she avoided the hunt as she locked herself in this cage,

and watched as she waited for a sign,

and there was one over the horizon and just in time,

the heat shook them as it came from the sun,

they had to abort the hunt as they stood crouched and ready to run,

they looked at the rising sun in terror,

as they had no choice and fled to the trees,

the young woman locked in a cage,

but was really free,

as the vampires left certainly not pleased,

she avoided their feed,

and her heart added one more deliberate beat,

escaping the cold and hanging on to the warmth and the heat.
