Best Accessible Poems

Premium Member Can Poetry Matter

In the debate between accessible and difficult poems
Poets' poems and poems for people
Only the single poem and private reader matter

Both kinds and anything between can matter or not
Solid or made of air, a vase or heavy clay ashtray
One word repeated or many like a lei

An acquired taste, like wine, and like wine
Not sustenance, yet men die with their miseries
Uncut without it, news and mere matter

I advise everyone to keep a personal anthology of poems that matter
Or not. Perhaps it should be novels. Stones, insect wings,
Feathers, Birds you've seen, People loved.

Oh, Toilet Bowl

Oh, toilet bowl
Did you hear me in the hall
Talking to that bastard wall
Asking who moved the door

Oh, toilet bowl
Don’t ever have gin and tonic
Cause inebriation is quite ironic
When lost in your own home

Oh, toilet bowl
So accessible and cool
Forgive my 90 proof drool
Irony is about to surface

Oh, toilet bowl
We're no longer alone
I’m talking to Ralph
on your big white phone
He says he’s sorry

Oh, toilet bowl
My porcelain gold
If I may be so bold
Meet my bottom

Oh, toilet bowl!

Premium Member Girlfriends

A group of 15-year-old girlfriends
decided where to meet for dinner.
the Dairy Queen next to the Ocean View Restaurant,
because they had only $6.00 among them,
and a cute boy lived across the street named Jimmy Johnson.
10 years later, at their reunion,
the 25-year-old girlfriends decided where to meet for dinner again,
The Ocean View Restaurant because the drinks were cheap,
the band was good and the snacks were free,
there was no cover charge to get inside,
and the place was always packed with lots of cute guys.
The 35-year-old girlfriends at their reunion 10 years later
decided once again where to meet for dinner.
They agreed to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant
because the atmosphere was good and it was right near the gym,
and if they went late enough in the evening,
there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids to bug them.
At their reunion 10 years later, the 45-year-old girlfriends
decided to meet for dinner at the Ocean View Restaurant
because the martinis were big and the waiters were young.
10 years later, the 55-year-old girlfriends
decided to meet for dinner at the Ocean View Restaurant again,
because the prices were reasonable, the wine list was good,
and had windows that opened in case of a hot flashes,
as all good restaurants should.
10 years later, the group of 65-year-old girlfriends
decided to dine at the Ocean View Restaurant as well
because the lighting was good and had an early bird special.
10 years later at their reunion,
the group of 75-year-old girlfriends
met for dinner at the Ocean View Restaurant again,
because the food was not too spicy
and was handicapped-accessible for them.
10 years later, the group of 85-year-old girlfriends
met for dinner at the Ocean View Restaurant once more,
because none of them had ever been there before.

Dancing With Joan Jett

Dancing with Joan Jett
Dancing close with Joan Jett is so wild, it’s 1989 and we go head to head. I’m the teen kid by the juke box and she is my wet dream in black leather, one foot in front of me. Pure bloody ecstasy. Garage music blares out of the speakers and we spin around, my arm catching her waist. Closer we draw; a kiss. First of many.
Joan and Nick. Who would have thought it? Rock n roll music heroine meets a Lancashire lad in an intimate spit and sawdust gig venue in a nameless town. It happened, was happening now. 25 July 1989. A day before I was eighteen.
By chance I got her gig ticket, last minute rush. Left my crap job and mental northern town and took the train to see Her, Joan Jett. My teen rock goddess singing live. How many guys wanted a piece of her? And a few gals too. Black leather, boots and an awfully short skirt...
And that black hair. Joan looked like a Goth. Her music wasn’t as dark and was more accessible. Darkness would come later, lots of it.
For now, I danced close with Joan Jett. My head in her hair, eyes shut. Holding her like there was no tomorrow. Another kiss and I was smitten. No one would ever believe me, if I told them: ‘Hey, I danced close with Joan Jett. And we kissed...’
Never mind what happened later... that’s our secret. Yes I still do love her, am in love...
...with Joan Jett.

Premium Member Joyful

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
~ Psalm 16:11 (The Holy Bible)

In Your presence, there is fullness of joy
A joy that no one can ever destroy
You cheer my soul and clothe me with gladness
Your joy is my strength, no place for sadness

My soul bursts out with joyful songs of praise
In adoration, my spirit, I raise
Rejoicing with joy inexpressible
For You have made Yourself accessible

Your words, my delight, the joy of my heart
Keeping Your commandments, full joy impart
My lips shout for joy, soul exults in You
For You have clothed me with salvation true

Rejoicing in hope, joy everlasting
Night weeping will end, dawn joy contrasting
In all affliction, joy overflowing
Reap with shouts of joy, though in tears sowing

I have set the Lord always before me
You're at my right hand, shaken I'll not be
I am glad, my whole being rejoices
My heart, mind and soul, all lift their voices

Premium Member Love and Happy Birthday- Robert Lindley

You stood by me through thick and thin.
In days when few comments, were coming in.

You saw in me a poet, possible.
That belief from you, made things, accessible.

Grand talent you are, so very unappreciated.
For you, I wish the best, so poetically educated.

Happy Birthday special friend.
Your fine, classical poetry I do commend!

With love and best wishes,
Panagiota

Premium Member A Poet's Deliberation

A poet’s deliberation; to place the words between the lines
Something sacrilegious; in their attempt to blow our minds

Playing games with metaphors to test the educated rhyme
Then left accessible to others over the great length of time

Parable’s placed upon us with their morals to quell our sin
Picked upon and plundered; to the hidden message within

The litigation of alliteration; with each start letter the same
When repeated over and over in the end drives you insane

Anaphora’s are repeated; as to reinforce its message home
Anaphora’s are repeated because I suffer repeat syndrome

A poet’s deliberation; to place the words between the lines
Something sacrilegious; in their attempt to blow our minds

TELL me, dear, everything which occupies you
LAY each piece out, display your soul
SELL me utterly all components, oldest to new
SAY absolute etirety, without any toll

FEEL my hands reaching musty content gently
DRAWN out painlessly, your dark place
REVEAL shame and sins as though incidentally
TORN from humiliation without a trace

BEGIN to trust your ribcage, competent holder
Of HEART, outlandish desires wrapped
WITHIN terror of memory allowed to smoulder
DEPART from a prison, ribcage relaxed

IMMERSED in latitude, stream jumping joyous
FORGIVENESS view gifts expansion
TRAVEVERSED in unison, a vocalised voyage
DELIVERS cognition spun in tandem

BLUEST of blue moons we nurture, accessible
GIVING your mind renews our reward
TRUEST thoughts I massage make it possible
LIVING with wisdom, sharing one orb

Premium Member When Seeking

When seeking to write
a poem, no need to
descend into deep, dank
mysterious wells of
creation – after great depth
only to come upon
one's ignitable soul-fuel

my muse, for example,
far more accessible, generally
wearing just a glistening
strand of peals, basking
in a warmth of sunlight

for poetry is less the self
making new composition, and
more a process of internal revelation

one's own essence
radiating back the lyrics
of a poet's exclamatory spirit

calling up and out
for conscious reunification
with the Divinity of
All Declarative Being –

the celebration of freeing
that which is already
written – a penetrable
gazing crystal entrancing
artful nature into greater
self-awareness –

hidden truth distilled in
each vein long before
the tea and patterned reading

the poet first learns release
if to learn poetry; begins
by turning those internal whispers
into clear explorable volumes

slicing open, and peeling back
the skins of words, shattering
shells, releasing flocks of
phrases and images, making
yoke-leftovers into omelets
stuffed with eclectic tastes for
sharing

one writes to consume

and be consumed –

poetry, a sacred ceremony of life and death~

the poet his own baptizing priest while cold
handed embalmer.

Tales of Light - 2 Point 1

I
Without computing Light Years (LY)
Rain could join Space-Time
For making accessible rainbows

II
I walked under - the greatest Arch
White-clad sprites streamed promises -
edible flavors, rainbow colors

Premium Member Becoming Morally Impeccable

We can all begin each day with firm resolutions
To do everything viewed as morally acceptable
Not causing problems, being a part of solutions.

Surrounding us already are too many pollutions
Believe not that our good acts are imperceptible
We can all begin each day with firm resolutions.

One person, one deed can start a revolution
Let it be from acts that are morally impeccable
Not causing problems, being a part of solutions.

We seek not for our moral goodness restitutions
A fault to which so many humans are susceptible,
We can all begin each day with firm resolutions.

Thinking this way leads to awesome conclusions
Everyone of us can be among the exceptional
Not causing problems, being a part of solutions.

The first step, I believe, is tomorrow’s execution
Of the will to make ourselves morally accessible,
We can all begin each day with firm resolutions
Not causing problems, being a part of solutions.

Voiceless

Looking down through my window, at the beautiful people shuffling like charmed regals.
My chair can get closer from the side,
but the view isn't as accessible.
If I could only get well, I can do those things.
I could eat nails, be a badass from my immunity to sufferings.
Is it because I am bad or would do bad things?
I'd like to think I am disabled for a purpose.
I hope that it is in lightening God's burden,
sharing his cross, that is heavy.
I see more people now, wandering the streets.
No one talks to them, they pretend they don't see.
I know the routine.
There is a vulnerability in this world that is unfair.
The unborn, even less able with their handicap
than me, to have a voice.

One day, the world will see the truth.
It will set them free.
The last will be first and the first will be last.
When we all get our permanent incorruptible bodies. There's no need for wheelchairs in heaven,
no need to avoid like the plague,
because there won't be any.
Just things the way they ought to be.

Come You Lonely Bird

Come you lonely bird!

-----

Walking forever in this same lonesome street!

Still waiting for my special someone to meet!

I have passed beyond the best of my years!

With each step forward, the blind end nears!

Know how far I've come, not what's left to go!

It has been hard all along, will it always be so?

Hear cheers in houses around my own silence!

I can't put up a fake smile, I know no pretense!

Sometimes I wonder was anyone made for me?

Or I had to live by myself, that were the way to be?

If you are one feeling deserted, join me in my walk!

I want to hear your stories, and have mine to talk!

Come you lonely bird, let's together make our nest!

We'll travel the walkways of life till we're put to rest!

You'Re My Lady, Made For Me

You're my lady, made for me!

-----------------------

I swear to you there could never ever be!

In this whole world, as far as I could see!

Someone else who could be my soul-mate!

Except you, most precious gift of my fate!

Before we even met, I had known you forever!

Since times began, we had been apart never!

From nothing, you changed me to everything!

My queen of hearts, just with you I am a king!

You are my world, you're the love of my life!

You are my sweetheart, O my prettiest wife!

Let me yet once more get down on my knee!

To say you are my lady, who is made for me!
