Best 1000 Words Poems

Solute To Poetry

The stoke of the keys
on my skin,
the rush of 1,000 words
coming from deep within.
Not many minds are
creative like this,
not many people
write work that they
could kiss.
Poetry works in
so many ways,
but only some people
can see it,
usually, it's stuck
in a haze.
The world hides poets
in closets or disguise,
because most people can't
understand the words,
unless they see it
from a poet's eyes.
Most poems are beautiful,
every thought so real,
reading your own work,
it's just so amazing
how you feel.
Poetry is my passion,
and forever it will always be,
it's such a burning desire
that I want the whole
world to see.

Scores of Malapropisms

It could be noticed in media networks
either on television or newspapers,
how some writers document issues
with scores of errors or buthered grammar.

A literature in a hurry, a scripted discourse,
it’s what many demonstrate clearly
both in written and oral communication;
a powerful medium with a sense of liberation.

A ubiquitous voice, everywhere in this land,
its tapestry gets stronger in its own groove;
like those commentators or byliners,
able to articulate their own opinions.

But certain things in different settings
how those people speak with humor
at times make blunders wafting across
the growing audience and readers.

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words,
that exemplifies a reality in action;
as an instruction from the Lord
this Hebrew word from Zechariah’s book -
Dabru emet : speak the truth.

Sarah's Smile

Sweet as honey from the hive
Warm as the hearth on cold winters night
Bright as the sun of a new day
Cheerful as the song of a bird in flight

Strong as the blade of a swordsman posed to strike
Steady as the north star at night
Soft as a kitten's coat
Beautiful as the northern light

Gentle as a babbling brook
Playful as a puppy at her best
Pure as the new fallen snow
Peaceful as a babe at mother's breast

It can comfort when your in pain
It can make you happy when you are gray
It can tell the tale of 1000 words
It can be the perfect end to a long stressful day

Almost 1,000 Words.

ill surrender to fate...
because i cant fight for the both of us;
and i wont fight if you dont have enough love to be here.
im guessing all those times that 'i love you'
reached the tip of our tounges
but never made its way out
was gods way of saying "no, this wasnt meant to be."
but, i did not doubt my love for you...
i just was not able to receive the same love in return...
and that hurt like hell, no touch of heaven in sight.
your last words to me were that...
you have always wanted to be in two places at once.
you walked away not knowing
your place on the face of this heart
and my heart.
now, i hate myself for having cared too much
and i want to hate you for not caring enough.
if somebody could please open these eyes to the truth...
because they have been blinded by your deceptions.
even if it seems to me that nobody in this world
could successfully change my new perceptions.

love is love, but without a definition to me anymore.
i am who i be, but without you.
whats this heart for ?

1,000 Words Too Late

My friend
The brine that stains my will
Searching
For your warmth to end my chill

And then I find
Through reminders
Indifference is worse than hate

A picture couldn’t say enough
1,000 words too late

Why
Do I continue to remain?
The high
Has evolved into pain

A source I loved
My skies above
Are obscured by your face

Your eyes twinkle like the stars
Deny me a taste

The Smartest Class Clown

Parents weren't around so sometimes I would act out
To hide my own pain, I would always try to give others something to laugh about
I'd act immature and tell jokes just to get through the day
Welcome to the mind of the smartest class clown

My mind was a maze, and I was lost on my path
I was the class clown but still finished top of my class
I never thought it was possible to be smart and dumb at the same time
I guess my already painful life had left me with an insane mind

I got knocked down a few times, little did I know that would become my building zone
Too busy getting distracted by girls, so I wouldn't do my homework after school in my children's home
I wouldn't even write just one word on my homework
But I'd write 1000 words in just one verse

My ability to write poems never came to a stop
But I didn't care about school, I only cared about girls, football and Hip-Hop
Not the usual teenager, I didn't care for the gossip or He-say She-say
I was too busy listening to Tupac, Nas and Eminem on replay

Rappers taught me more about life than my teachers ever could
That wasn't their fault, if I'd have listened to what the teachers said then they probably would
To hide my own pain I would try to give others something to laugh about
This is the mind of the smartest class clown

Library

Everything so silent
In a league of her own so vibrant
She sits across from me
An angel in human form for me
Her glasses enhance my soul to see
She looks straight through to the truth.........
Trying to keep it clean but my eyes read dirty
Lookin purposely at a lady so worthy
Down time i down play the scene to get the mood right
Just to make her smile so i know that she liked
Times up she stands and walks away
Stops turns and looks in silence
But....1000 words were said

Finding Us Again

I come across a photo taken of you,
seems like ages ago,
a picture that speaks more than a 1000 words could ever say,
Then my body stills except for my lips that you used to adore, caress,
tenderly I whisper "I miss you", knowing that to your ears it will remain unheard,
I feel the unshed tears burning at my eye lids wanting to release the pain that was stifled all
this time,
Again this relentless time,
that heals or prolongs the pain held in my unconscious dreams
that one day I will return to you embraced in your arms, tears flowing as steady as the Nile,
landing on the shoulder of the man that remains an intangible memory of my mind,
All this despair behind the exterior of the seemingly elated emotions delayed across my face,
Dwells beneath,
becomes manageable with time but never ever leaves ,
that the man who is here with me now tries to help ease some this loneliness I have grown
accustom to, he says "I love you", with a passion he longs to share with me,
He doesnt want to face reality,
cus he knows deep down the real truth of my love,
when I believe Im alone he stares at me quietly watching the untranquil emotions
that is undeniably written across my face the love for another man, of my past,
eyes distant and vacant as he watches me look out my window,
and I place my hand up to the cool dampness, of the glass,
praying that it will extinguish this raging fire that burns for this man,
I still yearn for after all this time,
but its hopeless,
and hopeless I remain till
you find me, I find you,
we find us again...

Full Version of a Picture Is Worth a 1000 Words

They say a picture Is worth a 1000 words,
Yet the realisation that all I have left are pictures
Actually Renderes me speechless
Apparently the adage is actually meant that complex and sometimes multiple ideas can be conveyed by a single still image, which conveys its meaning or essence more effectively than a mere verbal description.
And I have to agree that a picture does convey more meaning or essence than a mere verbal description,
However, a picture does not capture your inner essence or uncover ones hidden encryptions,
You cannot smell that personal scent we each have through a still image,
It doesn't talk to me like you did, or laugh with me, or at me, I can't hear your voice through a still image,
It doesn't capture a true unprovoked instructed smile like you smiled,
It doesn't capture the little annoyingly annoying things you'd do,
That only now I truly miss,

A picture isn't the same as walking in and you being right there in front of me in the flesh,
A picture doesn't even come close to that in comparison actually,
It may be worth 1000 words, but I'd give up those words or any picture,
To have you back here even just for an hour or a half or even a minute or two,
Just so I could say thank you, for being the very best you could be, and doing the best you could do,
I'd say all the things that were never said so stupidly because of pride and ego, although it seems so ignorant now,
Id tell you how much I loved you, something I never said enough,
I'd say it all before, it was to late to say it at all,
And I'd snap just one last selfie of us together, because I never even noticed that I've only 1 picture of you and I together,
And now it's to late to take anymore.
But if I could I'd snap on more shot
Because I would no,
That eventually you'd still have to leave again and go,
But at least I'd have my picture that is worth 1000 words,
I wonder how it would read
Would it be about you or me, or maybe even just the scenary?
Or would it be about when you came down from heaven to visit me,
And left me a picture worth 1000 words to tell the story.

Impossible French

A language more dense than water
Your irregular verbs forever dance
and verb negations are plus hard
my oi from ai pronunciation is oil skewed
A bill of learning strolling
into self doubt
sdtx not pronounced
but there are exceptions
your silent H is like an angry chore
the juxtaposition of possession alarms
Your false friends laugh high five
but I'm told we still have a 1000 words
borrowed from French
altogether a curates egg I'm afraid

Short Version of a Picture Is Worth 1000 Words

They say a picture Is worth a 1000 words?

A picture is multiple complex ideas that can be conveyed by single still images,
However, a picture does not capture someone's inner essence or uncover ones hidden encryptions, it has limits.
Like I cannot smell your scent through a still image, or see that glint, that sparkle in your eyes,
It doesn't talk to me like you did, or laugh with me like you did, or even at me like you did, many times,
I can't hear your voice through a picture, it's just pixelated colour of memories, good, old, past, times,
But it doesn't capture a true uninstructed smile you'd give a real smile from ear to ear from time to time,
It doesn't capture the little unprovoked annoyingly annoying things you'd do little things that just made you, you
A picture may well be worth 1000 wonderouse words but I'd trade every single one to see you the whole of you.

Even if it was for just one last time, and I'd snap a selfie still because if I can't have you a picture will just have to do.

Ambitions As a Writer

I give my 1000 words and let you choose a frame for the picture
I write my pain away, while you take away your pain with the liquor
I hope my words are here after the smoke clears, but while I'm here the flame will get bigger
When its all said and done, and they write the book of poetry, they best put my name in the scriptures

I pick up the pen daily and I bleed all over the page
If they don't like it, I understand because I write for those who relate
I write down every single thought before the desires gone
I don't need to be the greatest Poet ever, I just want to inspire some

I write about the issues in the world for those who are less informed
I write about mental health, because it's a subject that gets ignored
I bring up self-harm and depression because I've been through both, and know what its like to have no self-worth
I write for that boy with suicidal thoughts, and that girl being bullied, I hope my words help her

Writers block doesn't exist, I don't believe in it
If it's on the news or around me, I feel the need to speak on it
I could write about fairytales but I believe there's something bigger to share
I just hope when I put my words together the picture is clear

I hate the "Heart and apart" "You and true" simple rhymes so I don't do that
I put my heart in every line and I won't lose that
I speak my heart and mind, and don't care if you get offended by what I put down on the page
I write in hopes my words will encourage someone to put down the blade

I give my 1000 words and let you choose a frame for the picture
I write my pain away, while you take away your pain with the liquor
I hope my words are here after the smoke clears, but while I'm here the flame will get bigger
When its all said and done, and they write the book of poetry, they best put my name in the scriptures

Premium Member Poet: ARS Poetica form

you say I am a poet
I tell you I am nothing
you say I craft words
I tell you I build nothing
you look confused
imagine how I feel
that with a mere smile
the raise of an eyebrow
you push the words
right onto me
that's right
don't you see now
I am your paper
you are 1000 words
waiting to be written
100 feelings
waiting to be had
I lay myself bare to you
an empty page
just awaiting the
spill of your ink.
