1,000 Words Too Late

My friend
The brine that stains my will
Searching
For your warmth to end my chill

And then I find
Through reminders
Indifference is worse than hate

A picture couldn’t say enough
1,000 words too late

Why
Do I continue to remain?
The high
Has evolved into pain

A source I loved
My skies above
Are obscured by your face

Your eyes twinkle like the stars
Deny me a taste
