Premium Membercaught in seaweed

Caught in seaweed forever I guess
My legs are tangled; they’re in a mess
Merman comes along and cuts me out
I am too weak to flail about
Who will save a wretch like me?
Floundering in the Baltic Sea

Premium MemberEstonia's Fifth Season

Estonia is a country on the shores of the Baltic Sea
the smallest country in Northern Europe
with a fifth season . . .
a predictable period after winter and before spring
that takes place every year
when flooding submerges forests, the land and homes
with miles and miles of vast moving water
Estonia's Soomaa National Park is a magical place
to experience this fifth season
using water highways knowing the danger
but with excitement
floating among the trees by canoe
in a drowned world
of swamped meadows and vast forests
where woodpeckers knock on trees
and flowers still poke out of the water
in this haunting landscape of Estonia's fifth season
and then, the water seeps away. . .

Premium MemberOrca Saves Poseidon

Lightning illuminated who orca saved
It was Poseidon of course
Lean, tanned, muscular, god of the sea
The lesser gods shook with envy
and the sea goddess smiled,
hoping they might be his
chosen tonight.

The azure skies were pleased as was
the black of the water and rhinestone stars
Awed by the sight of both the orca and
Poseidon, the father god of the Baltic Sea.
Both ready for whatever came their way
with a strength usually unseen but graced
by a flash of Zeus’s own thunderbolts tonight
The goddesses sighed.

Four Minutes

Four Minutes
This is the time it will take to kill a person in the ice cold Baltic Sea, allegedly. Not even several thousand people thrown into the ocean together, using their body heat would live longer. This has been done a few times, especially on the large German ships sunk in the war by the Russians.

They were called Goya, Gustloff and Steuben. The cold ocean was hungry for death on those nights, no mercy shown though mercy must have been pleaded for and God begged for help.

In times of war things happen, torpedoes are fired, ships sink and people drown or freeze to death in the Baltic. I wonder what it felt like. If I put a finger into chilled water, will it be like that? Not very nice, four minutes to die in the icy Baltic in early 1945.

Amber

The vegetation is lush and awe inspiring
The mosquitoes and huge dragonflies are flying
The colossal ferns among which huge reptiles are dreaming
In the skies pterodactyls are not yet visible but huge insects are soaring

A mosquito drinks blood of cynognathus then lands on a tree
Soon trapped in tree resin he will be
To be discovered millions years later is its destiny
And blood he drank part of genetic testing will be

Amber formed from the resin in ancient world is known
They say its tears of poplars that then have grown
The tears are because of brother of poplars whose loss they moan
He was son of the very sun that was killed and now his sisters are alone

There are pieces of amber with dragonflies in them by Baltic Sea
They are of exceptional beauty
To me
Amber is more than resin from a tree

It is the reflection of the past
That long time will last
It is also reflection of sun that shadow on earth will cast
Reflection of one having no reference to any echo of time in evolution, which forever will last

Premium MemberPoltava

King Charles is a foolish megalomaniac.
He constantly sends his armies to the attack.
In the first few years of the eighteenth century,
Swedes have attacked Russia, Denmark, and Saxony.
Sweden exerts its regional hegemony
over the smaller states around the Baltic Sea.
Denmark was overwhelmed by the Swedish army.
We suffered defeat at the Battle of Narva.
Sweden’s military presence threatens Russia.
Charles the Twelfth and the Swedes have refused to refrain
as their forces have encroached upon our Ukraine.
I, Peter your tsar, shall lead our mother Russia.
We shall take a stand and fight at Poltava.
This is our beloved land that we must defend.
We must bring Swedish aggressiveness to an end.

This battle was fought between the Russians and Swedes during the Great Northern War in 1709. It forever changed the courses of both countries.

If I Could

if i could
make you happy
just by waving my hand
it would be the least of things
i hope you understand
but i prefer something greater
like swiming across the sea
or climb the highest mountian
just so you could see me
like a child says "mommy watch"
just pretend that's me
i'd dig a hole to china
with you watching me
and when it comes to taming lions
anythings worth a try
i'd do it in a second
if i knew i'd catch your eye
i'd cross the Gobi Desert
if you were on the other side
walk from here to Tim Buc too
if that is where you hide
i'd dive into the Baltic sea
if you were in a submarine
and tap on the hatch my code
to let you know where ever you go
i won't be far behind
so when it comes to making you happy
that's nothing to me
i could think of a lot of things
but i think i'll start
by waving my hand

A Night In Russia

I am chilled by the icy-breeze
I am loved by the deep thickness of night
I am haunted by cruelty of the historical accounts
The Baltic Sea has become my silent escape
The Arctic Ocean has taught me not to be colded-hearted
Yet, the influence of the peasants and those without
has gave me a solace that many fail to do
Yes, I admire thecold beauty of the slopes and mountain-peaks
Nevertheless, A Night In Russia has romance my soul
and tolded me how to survive the elements of a Russian Night
Do make provisions for a journey to this land within the mind of me

In the Kingdom of the Fountains (From Published Book)

(The fantastic excursion for children from 6 to11 years)

                                                              On coast of deserted waves…
                                                               Alecsandr Pushkin

INTRODUCTION:
1.
On the coast of the Baltic sea,
Peterhof still stands and remembers.
It is the keeper of memory of the centuries,
and the creation of Tzar Peter the Great.
2.
There is the kingdom of dancing water,
Palaces, sculptures, gardens to see.
Every day, there is cheerful laughter,
and everyone can have much joy!
3.
But every night, here under the moon,
you can see the other world:
the forest ghosts, the water maidens
who sing and dance, and with them,
Marble Eve and Adam.
4.
Sculptures of the Mountain
are figures of a chess game,
pawns, knights, castles, king and queen.
Warrior Samson plays chess with Triton
from midnight to dawn.
5.
There, shadows wander among forest paths,
and silhouettes of ships
are floating somewhere far
above the waves.
