Two roads diverse in the woods,
Whose road walk less untrodden.
Meet in sunrise where no one see,
The full bloom of summer roses.
Witness the peaceful encounter
Of two hearts falls in secret glib.
How beautiful is the morning dew,
Put in space of leaves and petals,
Brush every wind that passes by.
What a refreshing feeling that be
When two hearts meet embrace.
A cold solitude morning glory ray,
When all is well mend in free way,
Complete life a destiny ever see.
The rains are here, relentless as ever
The grass blade is excited like never
The season of hibernation is over
Swirling in water, as a duck dumpling
in sauce
The blade of grass has come home
A rich gourmet of moisture and nutrients
Thrusts the roots, taking its journey southward
And the shoots going northwards
The grass blade has taken its place.
As the rains continue in its season
The lush of greenery fills the reasons
Natural beauty in lyrical passion
Paradise in a paradox, Laying among
the lilies.
In mystic forest, where human wisdom fades,
A world of secrets, beyond our mortal shades.
The forest whispers truths, we've yet to grasp,
As ancient trees stand guard, with mysteries to clasp.
A mahogany tree, tall and proud,
Became the stage for a supernatural cloud.
A sawman's blade, with intent to claim,
Was halted by a voice, an old woman's refrain.
The slap that followed, like a rock's descent,
Left the operator reeling, his strength spent.
Blood gushed from the tree, a mystic's tale,
A metaphysical son, with wounds that would prevail.
The tree, once wounded, healed with mystic speed,
Leaving us in awe, our footsteps to proceed.
We fled the scene, with hearts that still quake,
A lesson learned, some secrets we'd rather not partake.
A DAY TO REMEMBER
(COVID 19)
It is said everyday,
When God created this land,
He visited the land everyday,
He returned every night to rest as his demand,
One month for a dozen to another chapter, darkness covered the entire world, on the special day of God, which was Sunday.
A giant archenemy with his Excalibur and Shaft killed 128,343 people, the rest cannot be mentioned.
That was when the virile of the world became weak from that day,
Heroes and miniature were being penned like animals, including the Presidents as lockdown was declared,
When did paradise became hell,
When did our own land became our enemy,
Grotesque, troll, Mighty trees and it infant corn were completely pulled out as it fell,
The effect and cause was known but its cure was anonymity.
This poisonous poignant bell kept on sounding and gallant and mogul were falling like an ant at the sound of its bell
It was a day to remember, for it reminded the world of the pain of agony
They love the leaves—the butterflies,
mulberry for their eggs,
a home and caterpillars' feast,
where adults rest their legs.
Their beauty drawn—the butterflies,
mulberry for their dance,
where beauty mirrors beauty well,
even with fleeting glance.
With weather harsh—the butterflies,
mulberry their shelter,
through chilling winds or blazing heat,
no flight helter-skelter.
When hunger strikes—the butterflies,
mulberry their nectar,
for food, for strength, for energy,
their nose, their detector.
For friendship’s call—the butterflies,
mulberry, their best friend,
in loyalty and harmony,
a bond that will not bend.
We see but grey where once was green
As bulldozers now scrape,
Turning a joyful rural scene
Into joyless landscape.
The area was green-belt land
With forest and pasture
But as our numbers still expand
We will invade nature.
And so that farmland must give way
To high profit housing.
Farming that land has had its day.
Let the plunder begin.
First rip up each ancient hedgerow,
Take living loam away.
Make space for luxury homes to go.
The wildlife then must stray.
Nests and burrows can play no part
As man now owns this space.
The construction work now can start
And big profits then chase.
Soon building projects in full swing.
The stream that filled the pond
Diverted to concrete piping
In culvert underground.
Aquatic habitats destroyed.
Frogs, toads and newts homeless.
Many wildlife species now void.
But man could not care less.
As heading down the streets of Paris,
I sensed the guitar strings resonating the air
somewhere behind my ears.
Leaves fell twirling around as if,
autumn started a bit early this year.
The foggy road didn't allow any lights to pass through it
except for the one in the 'Scarlet Red' .
Was the nature romanticising around?
Or was it just my another delusional world dawned?
My heart became a bit tachy, skipping a beat or more
and the eyes just forgot to blink in the flow !
I venture forth, an explorer true,
Seeking knowledge, with heart anew.
Idanre's hills, a treasure to behold,
Ancient secrets, yet to be unfold.
The people, industrious, with hearts of gold,
Welcomed me, with stories untold.
Their cocoa farms, a lush, green sight,
I harvested with them, under the sun's warm light.
Their water, a natural blessing, pure and fine,
Quenched my thirst, and revived my mind.
A healing spring, with powers to restore,
A gift from God, forever in store.
Idanre's hills, a tourist's delight,
A haven for nature, in all its might.
Longevity and prosperity, God's blessings true,
Reflect in the people, with hearts anew.
Their men and women, handsome, beautiful, and strong,
Beholders of beauty, with hearts that belong.
Producers, problem solvers, with a spirit so bright,
United in ceremony, with love and delight.
I gaze upon a sea of roses,
That paint the valley green,
But I see the weed that poses
As grass in beauty serene.
Red roses soar, ‘bove the hills
And not daisies nor the nettles,
Can distract from the frills
Of the sweet, sweet rose petals.
But pale roses bound,
In bands so, so tight,
‘Till the poor stems sound,
Cries of woe and cries of spite.
The sun has come, yet still they weep,
Their petals stained with fleeting pain,
But through the earth, their roots run deep,
And soon they rise to bloom again.
And so the sun sings in the skies,
And bathes the land from black’ned lies.
Once more I gaze upon the sea,
And not a single weed I see.
When we were in secondary school,
we used to hold brooms like reign and sweep and sweep
and sweep and sweep clear and clean each an every
house.
And race to sweep Hamman Dikko house;
and race to sweep Tudun Wada house;
and race to sweep Ardo Sali house;
and make hay while the sun shines.
I remember the brooms were sharp and fine like rainy
water shattering amidst rainy season O a flowing river
towards the sea.
Our mathes teacher would almost punish us for assuming
that we can anyhow shatter in in in the wood- I remember
the duty perfect used to say as etiquette let begin
from jss 1 to the staffroom , let the ss1 and jss 111
sweep the senior classes and the computer lab.
I remember the motto is keep out impurity and clean
your school and the society at large?.

I was in His bosom
With no form or comeliness
Created from dust
Nothing moved me
Until dust came to life by
His breath
The very nature of Him
I am created to praise Him
That I will always do
Let your breath come afresh
on me
Renew me with your Spirit.

Wounded Earth
we did a big deal to destroy your dear earth
coming from a broken heart for you
letting you to melt in our quest of unending race
making you more sick and week
asking for forgiveness would be not enough
the damage is long long bigger
the trees mountains waters and air of you destroyed
bigger than the lenghts human greed
we have caused eminent damage unrepairable maybe
but have mercy on us
as we are children of your green womb
care for us still we are the piece of you
still we have for forgiveness
from our wounded earth
as want to repent for our deeds
from our melting hearts
forgive your children for the forbidden deeds
the surface of yours is not green now
the scars are deep and arid
still your children seeks mercy from you
