dandelions and honey,
trees and the red fire truck jungle gym,
ice cream, the lake, pink ball.
take me back to back then.
white house’s and big windows,
my doll house, that one back road.
please take me back to back then.
the red door next door,
my family.
please just one more day back to where everything was simple and sweet,
please oh please take me back to back then.

Two bits of music
Are said to be back to back -
So one's in reverse!

Yesterday the birthday girl,
Her rainbow tutu swishing,
Blew out (with brother's help) the candles
Lit for birthday wishing.
From playground, train and parachute,
The 4 year olds were romping
Until the time for pizza came,
With juice and lots of chomping.
Today the celebration was
Just slightly more subdued,
Though with stories told and mem'ries shared
With fun it was imbued.
The birthday girl, at 91,
Enjoyed a home-cooked meal,
Drank gin and tonics then blew out
Her candles with some zeal.
Two birthday bashes back to back
On both ends of life's arc,
Let me have a double helping
Of what such a day can spark.

Many sins have been forgiven
washed inside the oceans a secret dwells
Forever loved cherished Rose scarlet
were the passion bleeds to honour your sacrifice
Within thorns daggers sharp razor frosted winter flower grows
dancing with the angels sweet aroma of Heaven claws
Misted mountain echoes Glory to Your Name
wild steeds rise and thundering onto the sands crash kneeling
Winds carrying whispering voices magnified inside waves
looking up to the sun warmly it kissed me remembering

Back to back they sleep
Different dream they dream
Married they are
In love they claim to be
Silent echoes in their bedroom
Their neighbours can testify
They hear it loud and clear every night
Neither could bridge the gap between
Fingers never touch
Lips dry and wrinkle
His eyes has long cease to shine
When he looks upon her face
Hers’ has long stop to sparkle at the sight of him
But yet the smile for the world
The take picture perfect family portrait
The world is none the wise of the loveless life the live
Word exchanges only out of necessity
Passion dead before wedding bells and I do
Out in the world
No silent smile shared
No lingering hugs
No indication that she sees him
Or that he sees her
Strangers standing side by side
Bitter memories of how it should have been
What it would have been
What it could have been
Is the only string tying them together
So they sleep back to back
Gap in between that either attempt to bridge
Dreaming of a different life
With different people
But still chose to wake up together
For neither have the courage to live

Back to back
on their solemn brass bed
Facing shadows on the wall
as the chilled air lingers
between their silent breaths.
On an old wooden dresser
an antique lamp reflects its light
on the opalescent glass
of a tiffany vase, a mantel clock
and a family portrait collage.
The light is slowly flickering,
dimming over the years.
Once radiant and dazzling
it is now relegated to a mere
...................glint of light.
Their love has gone as the light.
Ardent, glowing, and promising
The perils of life have worn it's luster
It's future is unclear
Feelings gone cold ......
Cold as winds on Summers gone
Their spirits sleep in different places now
Their hearts lost not to be found
They still stand to watch the sunrise
with their eyes fixed upon the ground

Back to Back
When reading book, it you must be facing
As well a piece of paper when you are tracing
But if back to back, you both happen to be
Each other no longer will be able to see.
