Premium MemberBanks of Loch Lomond

I long to traipse across lavender heathered hills
and look across the North Sea as a winter wind chills.
Again, to dwell in a cottage, nestled in a green glen
or traverse Scotland's burns, I yearn. Do ya ken?

Years ago I sat upon Loch Lomond's misty banks
and to the beautiful Highlands I offered my thanks
for rugged terrain, lowlands and plains, and Aberdeen.
Haunting bagpipe songs, leaves me feeling serene.

My heart longs to wander free as I stand and listen
to gulls over the Hebrides while Atlantic waters glisten.
There's a stirring deep within my heart and my soul
to wear my clan's plaid and upon Ayr Beach to stroll.

Libby Morrison

there was a lass named libby
who was from bonnie ayr
she walked a thousand miles
with her flag in the air

marching the streets of glasgow
with thousands men and more
looking out for our kids
making sure there not poor

she,s has had her life of trouble
and hardship also there
so she turned to the lord Jesus
and say,s some little prayers.

hoping he will hear her
and show her some little light
guiding her to the pathway
from morning and the night

guiding her through the crossroads
with her little prayer
and all the answers she is looking for
will always be out there,

opening her heart
for people that,s in need
for all the peoples misfortunes
also with there needs,
libby shows them where to go
as she guides them in there path
giving them food and shelter
and loves us with all her heart,

libbys answer from jesus
and answers her little prayers
for all the people that,s in need
libby morrisons will always be there,

Premium MemberMy Walking Boots

I have two pairs of boots for walking
one is navy and the other brown
really comfortable they are
step by step up and down

On my travels around Scotland
my boots are always on
one day brown the other navy
many miles travelled dusk to dawn

They go to many a place
Edinburgh, Stirling and Ayr
also Dumfries, Perth and Fife
over border too for change of air!

Many a mile they've travelled
over hill, path, glen and coast
but always keep their comfort
truly superb that I can boast

Hope they last a while yet
that would be real good
many more miles to travel
keeps me fit but never nude!

Moon Light Poem

i walk along the beach
the sand between my toes,
looking at the moon light,
and the stars high in the sky,
hear the water swaying
and the ripples to,
this is a wonderfull night
as you may guess,
all the things you really want
being at its best,
feeling the wind softly
blowing in my face,
smelling the sea air
all fresh and clean,
looking at the water
makes my life is at ease,
listening to the seagulls
flying over the sea,
makes the sounds of sweetness
to let you know your there,
with the wind blowing
gently through your hair,
watching the sunset raising
it looks so amazing,
wish you could see it to,
close your eyes softly
and feel the little breeze
listen to the birds sing,
and set your mind free,
so dream on a star
and pray that you are there,
and if you want to know this place,
they call it bonnie ayr,,,,

Premium MemberTaste of Salt

There are times when I sit on my porch
Dreaming of the days when I was young
How I miss the sound of the ocean
And the taste of salt upon my tongue

In the arms of a dark eyed woman
A few miles off the Spanish Coast
Making love in a French Chateau
Then disappearing like a ghost

Gazing at the Southern Cross
I spent some Caribbean nights
Just over the Arctic Circle
I saw the Northern Lights

Spent some time in the city of Cobh
A dream come true no doubt
I'll raise a toast to beautiful Ireland
With a bottle of Guiness Stout

At the Hotel Ayr in Scotland
My orders came and I had to move on
But I didn't take everything with me
You see, a piece of my heart was gone

I flew into Oslo on a mission
I took another flight to Vaernes the same day
Then gazed into the eyes of a Norwegian woman
Who took my breath away

I think of all the years
I spent sailing the seven seas
The taste of salt in my tears
Revives the memories.
