Nature Australian Poems | Examples
These Nature Australian poems are examples of Australian poems about Nature. These are the best examples of Australian Nature poems written by international poets.
Red dirt chases the single-laned tarred roads,
For kilometres past the horizon.
Wrapped in endless yellow canola fields
With lapping barbed wire fences.
Authentic, wise eucalypt giants stand guard-
They have lived
And will always live in the years of the forgotten lands,
They define terra-nullius.
They lean over, offering shade from brazen suns.
Oh, how the creeks know the Australian sun,
Their beds have slept
And will always dream of the time before the stolen lands.
The land owns terra-nullius.
The kookaburra calls to the morning,
With all its glory,
Sings the song of ancestors
To city buildings
That will never live to care about
The roots of the Narraburra Hills,
That wear olden-day graffiti rock art.
Those hills whisper in their valleys
Of the way they’ve lived
And will always live overseeing
The overtaking of terra-nullius.

australian, writing,
When they warble in a gum tree,
graze for grubs amongst the grass,
if you’re walking down a path,
they will always let you pass.
But once there’s spring in the air,
there’s no need for an excuse,
walk into their territory,
hell’s certain to break loose.
Some will scream and try to run;
Some will treat it as good fun;
Some want to shoot every one,
when magpie swooping season has begun.
The Old Man goes to any lengths,
to protect his latest brood.
He changes from a friendly bird,
to one with a filthy mood.
He’s a dive bomber from behind;
targets the unsuspecting head.
The snapping beak is all that’s heard,
before there’s cursing said.
Some will scream and try to run;
Some will treat it as good fun;
Some want to shoot every one,
when magpie swooping season has begun.
Australian magpie - black and white;
territorial - up for the fight,
when magpie swooping season has begun.
With chicks thriving in the nest,
there’s not a single welcome guest,
when magpie swooping season has begun.
I advise you all use common sense
to take a brolly for defence,
when magpie swooping season has begun.

australian, bird, nature,
“Hi Sexy”, I said to
The giant beaked black emu;
The next thing I recall,
Big yellow beak heading
At me, full speed ahead
And I quickly stepped back.
Stalled claws gripped the ground;
Halting bird staring;
Obsidian eyes
Screamed in confusion;
Rejected big bird emu;
Approached slowly.
I held out seeds,
His feelings hurt;
Still, he ate them.
We remained
Friendly and
A few more
Seeds he
Partook;
Dined.

australian, nature,
One step at a time
Count them or make a rhyme
Then fix your gaze to the front
And walk to it taking the brunt
Of the exercise in the walk
Breath in and hear magpies squawk
The Australian sun is something to behold
Being in nature never gets at all old.

australian, nature,
Many human beings consider me an animal that’s beautiful.
I am one of those mammals classified as a marsupial.
Some people call me an “Australian teddy bear”.
However, “koala” is the proper moniker I wear.
This continent down under is my native home.
To other places in the world I do not want to roam.
All of you zookeepers, please don’t take me away.
Here in this land you call “Australia” is where I want to stay.

australian, animal, nature, me, me,
Through this happy season, when everything is green and blue,
we won't see snow-capped hills, or mountains,
only brooks and rivers bubbling in sun rays;
lay down on their bends and hear their music as children do!
An Australian spring is unique and beautiful, everybody
is welcome to join us in song;
bring your flute, guitar and drum...
make music in jovial air while it harmonizes with serenity!
Through these four short months,
feel lively and observe the eager butterflies kiss wildflowers,
but an occasional rain may fall from the vagrant clouds...
see its gentle raindrops delight open eyes!
An Australian spring is unique and beautiful,
especially in the wilderness and countryside;
down here, isn't spring unforgettable?
Let's run faster than kangaroos that seem to glide!

Blessed are the Seasons that come and go
Summer days of rapture on hot burning sand
Blessed is Mother Nature as passions flow
Warmed by the sun pulsating savage land
