They love in terms, not open arms,
In borrowed warmth and hidden harms.
What feeds their ego feels like care,
But fades the moment you’re not there.
It’s not a bond, it’s give and take,
A need disguised as love they fake.
Every test breaks you enough to see,
Love with conditions will never let you be!
Tending to be creatures of whimsy, spirit and superstition
Deriving power from unsteady voices
Unsure of the implications of undefined “truths”
Pandering to the belief that “they” are the only “one”
Would we bow before an icon, an idol, a statue
Blindly serve a heaven-sent huckster
Or maybe…someday…become more than an echo
Become a voice, an action, a thought
That alters the arc of inanimate action
Challenging the reign of the Butterflies wings
Dream
It is the joy of life
As a boy or girl
You often saw your potential
Believing it today is not inconsequential
Always apply light
Not heat to your dreams
Dreaming can get you through the struggle
Dreaming can enlarge your life
And take you out of
Only living in a bubble
Always apply light

So cement your dream by taking action
A fraction of your life will be
Filled with joy and pain
But you must maintain the desire to grow
