Premium MemberOne Year On

On your first anniversary tears are shed.
More than memories, we want you home instead.

You're my first and last thoughts every day.
You'll journey on within me.
Your memory will not fade away
As long as I live and breathe.

Like the glow of a fire in the wintertime,
Your love warms this heart of mine.

I close my eyes and I see your smile.
I fold my arms and feel your hug.
I watch your shows and hear your laughter.
I sit in the dark and see your light.

I'll carry your light wherever I go
You're no longer here but I love you so.

When I see something awesome I hear your "Wow!"
And feel your emotions during certain songs.
Though we can't communicate,
Somehow I know the things you'd say.

Thinking back, I still wonder why
We never got to say goodbye.

Even you didn't know yourself
That your time to fly had arrived!
You are cherished and loved by all you knew
And today you unite us in thought.

It's hard to believe you've been gone for a year.
Miss you lots Nana...wish you were still here.

One Year of You, Melissa

One Year of You, Melissa

One year ago, the stars began,
And heaven said, "She is mine."
A small spark, a breath so new,
The world was brighter all for you.

Your giggles flower like morning sun,
Your eyes, two stars that brightly shine.
Each step you take, each sound you make,
Turns average days awake.

You've taught us love in its pure form,
In warm fingers and sleepy sighs.
One smile, a coo so soft,
The world seems new with you.

We have witnessed you grow, in wonder, in awe,
Each step taken in love and law.
From lullabies to weeping whines,
You've filled our hearts, you've filled our skies.

Here's to you, our birthday star,
Our miracle, just as you are.
May grace and happiness be with you,
With oceans broad dreams to chase.

A single candle today, but, oh, the flame
It shines hope, it whispers your name.
Happy birthday, little dove,
You are our world, our limitless love.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

24.12.2024
It would have been our first Christmas and New Year.
When we could enjoy the silent night and fire work together,
It would also mark our one year of friendship.
A simple, pure and full of fun relationship.
That was how I wished,
But it was not what you wanted.
So, you had to call it a quit,
Without doing any possible bit.
Simply, you just alienated me,
Ceased all contact in person and via messages.
Please do not push me any further,
I worked well under pressure.
I have already done some arts involving you,
The works seemed amazing to many,
Somehow, you would not agree.
That was how typical you were.

Rest In Peace, Hazel V

One year ago tonight, I had to watch as your life came to an end.
It was sad to witness your demise and I felt so much pain within.
You died in 2023 on the 9th of December.
You'll be a dog who I'll always remember.
When I saw you die, it was sad to know that you would have no tomorrow.
Each and every person who has lost a dog can understand my sorrow.
Last year, you didn't live long enough to see Christmas arrive.
Rest In Peace, Hazel, I certainly am sorry that you didn't survive.

[Dedicated to Hazel (2018-2023) who died one year ago tonight on December 9, 2023]

Puppy - Part 2

When you died, you died too soon.
You died one year ago this afternoon.
A vet tried to save you with a blood transfusion but you died anyway.
You died and my heart was broken one year ago today.

I bought you in 2017 and you were only six years old when you died.
If a person ever says that I didn't love you, that person will have lied.
Some Chihuahuas are hateful but you were not.
You were one of the best things I've ever bought.

I took you to two vets but your life still came to an end.
You weren't just a dog, you were also a wonderful friend.
I have something to say and it is 100 percent true.
You were a very special dog and I'll always love you.

[Dedicated to Puppy (2017 - 2023) who passed away one year ago today on August 17, 2023]

My Baby Doll - Part VIII

It was a day that every pet owner has to face.
You died four years ago and it was a disgrace.
Since you died, I've lost more dogs than you.
My heart was broken last year when I lost two.
Just one year ago today, I had three dogs but now I only have one.
When it came to losing you and my other dogs, I would've rather been shot by a gun.
You were my baby doll and I found you dead four years ago tonight.
Each and every person who has lost a dog can understand my plight.
When I say that I loved you and my other two dogs, it's no lie.
My heart was broken three times when I had to say goodbye.

[Dedicated to Agnes (2011-2020) who died four years ago tonight on July 11, 2020]

Antiochromia

Antiochromia

One year ago today
Watched you walk from view
Yellow bird flew away
On wings of jet blue

Been a ghost of a good thing
Ever since that time has passed
What light can this night bring
When dawn's healing comes at last

Now my showers are scalding
And my coffee is cold
Mending and maulding
Unfairness untold
Trying to be
What I wish I could see
Like more hair where I'm balding
Like a hand I could hold

Antiochromia
Becoming me
Treating insomnia
In a way that's healthy
No more poisons or lies
To run away from
No self that's despised
Too smart to be dumb

Lessons in time
From trials and terrors
Learn what you need
From choosing in error
The road, it is long
But my feet, they are strong
And there is a song
And I am the bearer

Happy Anniversary…
one year on the Soup for me!
Technically, a few more days,
pretty close though, anyway.
Made some friends and learned a lot;
what you see is what I’ve got.
Wonder what next year will bring -
y’all done heard my toady sing.
Florida Man, Bubba’s barn,
Frog King was my favorite yarn.
Adding much to all the fun,
reading what all y’all have done.
Delighted to have found this group
writing poems at the Soup!

Allurement of your charm and charisma
Neither to overlook nor to ignore.
Nearness of two wobbled hearts happened miraculous.
I honoured fervent fervid favour of fortune.
Vibrant Spring united us last year! Dear!
Emotive urge flooded my bubbling blood.
Rolled rippled pearly passion in romantic rapture.
Swam and sank in dulcet dream.
Ardent ardor whirled on pivot of non-verbal commitment.
Reappeared Spring in splendour after one year.
You are not back to celebrate Anniversary of our unison.

Diana, Princess of Wales

Princess Diana was born in England and died in France.
When she was in a car wreck, she didn't have a chance.
She divorced Prince Charles of Wales just one year before she died.
Diana was only 36 years old and her death was mourned worldwide.
When somebody dies that young, it's always hard to understand.
She did charity work and was trying to have landmines banned.
Harry and William are Diana's sons.
if she hadn't died, she would be 61.
For many, Diana's death was a devastating blow.
She was a princess who died a quarter of a century ago.

[Dedicated to Princess Diana Spencer (1961-1997) who died a quarter of a century ago today on August 31, 1997]

Earnest Ii

He died one year ago today and was laid to rest.
He was a good friend and his name was Earnest.
Earnest was one of three men that I knew who died last year.
He repaired and sold computers but cancer ended his career.
He would still be fixing and selling computers if he was alive.
Earnest tried to beat cancer but sadly, he could not survive.
His friends and family are sad because he no longer exists.
He was a great man and a friend who has been missed.
Everybody who knew him was truly blessed.
He was my friend and his name was Earnest.

[Dedicated to Earnest Martin Owens (1960-2021) who died one year ago today on July 29, 2021]

The First Anniversary of Wade's Death

When a man took drugs, it wasn't intelligent or nifty.
Drugs killed him one year ago today at the age of 50.
He was born in 1971 and perished after living on this earth for five decades.
Doing Meth and other drugs ended the life of a man who was named Wade.
He started out smoking pot and switched to drugs that were worse.
Sadly, Wade is gone for eternity, his death certainly can't be reversed.
His family disliked him so much that a funeral was something that he didn't receive.
He loved to get high and his untimely death was something that he didn't perceive.
He would still be alive if taking drugs wasn't part of his routine.
He brutally beat up his sister because drugs made him mean.
Wade ran when his sister called the police and he was arrested when he was caught.
Marijuana led him to do worse drugs like Meth because those drugs give a bigger buzz than pot.
This makes two men that I knew who died after years of taking dope.
When it came to surviving after years of drug abuse, there was no hope.
If you take drugs, you will end up in Wade's shoes.
Say No to drugs or your life is something you'll lose.

(This is a true story about a man who died on July 22, 2021)

One Year Ago Today

Dearest friend ‘twas on this day
your darling love was called away
One year ago today
~
I send you comfort on this day
No words I say will never ever
take your pain away
~
So know dear friend you’re in my heart
I’m here for you the whole day through
To give you strength
To give you hugs
To talk
To listen
To just be there
I understand
Your hurt
Your pain
As you relive that day again
But you must know your love is here
Where'er you go he loves you so
Dearest friend please take a breath
and feel his love so deep
For one fine day you both shall meet
your one and only ~ your love so sweet
