What Are We?

When winter winds have withered stubble,
Mother Mary maddens me,
whispering words of wonder:
what are we?

I find the farm a fraction futile,
loving life in Larame:
take the truck to Tucson, Tina
or Tracy, Tennessee.

Aardvarks are mere armadillos,
such as subtle souls can see:
pecans suck for plumping pillows:
chambermaids are chowder-free.

Santa Clara’s not a state,
a splurge is not a spree:
Grindr Graham isn’t straight:
Superior ain’t no sea.

Premium MemberSailors' Souls

Solitary seafarer sings sea chanties,
salty sea breeze serenity,
sea birds skim waves,
suddenly, so many sailors' souls
of the sunken WW II ship USS Indianapolis
started singing sonorous,
soaring from sea sepulcher,
stirring sacrifice so sacred,
such sorrow,
souls still scintillating, still seaward,
servicemen shipmates solemnized,
seared, sealed in spiritual solidarity,
salute. ~

Premium MemberNo Looking Back

     P r o c r a s t i n a t i o n
   Seems doggedly determined
        To anchor me to today;
Tells me to set sail tomorrow,
But I'm already on the ship.

She tightly tugs at my sleeve
      Trying to trick yours truly
Into stopping to sniff her rose,
     Into turning turtle mid-sea,
All for naught; now she asks...

"Why not wait out the weekend?"
Ha! I'm afraid it's too late for that.
I've reached a point of no return,
   Propelled by powerful currents;
    There's no looking back, baby!

Premium MemberPRAISE BE TO GOD FOR INSTRUCTING US TO GIVE GLORY TO HIM

December 29 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Revelation 14-16

Key Verse – Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR INSTRUCTING US
TO GIVE GLORY TO HIM

Praise be to God for instructing us to give glory to Him:
Worshipping Him worthily
Walking with Him along His ways
Waiting for Him by His watchfulness
Working for Him around His will by His Word
Wanting Him for His wonders against worldliness

Revelation 15:3 Praise be to the Lord for
His great and marvelous works, truly:
Good and mighty
Gracious and miraculous
Glowing and magnificent
Glorious and mysterious
Generous and magnanimous

Revelation 16:5 Praise be to the Saviour for
He is righteous:
Building our faith on His foundation
Battling for our fights upon His fortress
Bracing us against frustration and failure
Banishing our futility through His flourishing
Blessing our faithfulness with His fulfillment’s fruitfulness. Amen!

Premium MemberSupper at Sea

Snapping it up with so much zeal
The shiny black shag with its slinky eel.
The sand eel squirmed and slipped back to the sea.
The shag said stop, please stay with me!

You want to eat me said the edible eel.
I do not want to be your meal.
I see you swim under the sea
At speeds much faster than slithering me.
You will swallow me whole.
And then where will I be?
In my belly, of course, said the shag smilingly!

sisters day

Sue and Sage were sisters.
They searched the sandy shores,
solely for the treasure,
hid by pirates years before.

Sue would smile
as Sage would sing.
Searching for silver
and golden things.

never seeing
the silver they sought
just spending time
laughing a lot.

Soon the sunset
sent them home.
With such sweet memories
but no silver or gold.

Silly aliterations

Poppy picked the petals off a pink and pretty posey
Nathan knew the nonsense known only by those nosy
Sally saw the sunshine shimmering on the sea
Billy bought the butter but never brought the Brie
Tommy treated Tilly because it's time for tea

Stormy Seas

Serene sunset, star studded sky, seamen setting sail,
Sixteen salty sailors, surveying southern seas,
Singing somewhat spicily, saucy sea shanties.
    Sea sirens serenading, seductively sedates,
Sailors sleeping senselessly, soon sacrifice shipmates.
Shipwrecked sailors swimming, seeking sandy shores.
Spiral sea shells strident sounds, staccato semaphores.
Steering south, steel steamships, start searching stormy seas,
    Searchlights, sirens, struggling, serendipity succeeds.
Soul - searching self survivors, salute salvation's sanctuary.

Premium MemberShiela and Shirley

Shiela shrugs her shivering shoulders,
Shows she’s shunning her short shower;
Shy she is, but so shocking for Shirley to see
Shouting at her, “I should swim in the sea!”

Shirley’s shrill sound says, “No shampoo?”
Shoes off and shades on, sisters should go…
Sheila and Shirley swim swiftly side by side
Shouting, “Salty and spooky are the sea tides!”

Shirley and Shiela shake, swim, shudder, shake
Shiela says, “Sea tides shut and shift our shape!”
Suddenly, sisters are off without slippers on the sunshine,
Sharing shovel, scoping sandy seashells at the shoreline.

Premium MemberSee the Sea, She Saw

See the sea, she saw,
While rocking on the sea-saw sea.
See what she saw splashing and sparkling,
Glinting and glimmering with glee,
Kissed by the sun, caressed by the sea.
Oh what delights are the sights
she saw on the seashore sea!

Hop on the see-saw
to see the sea she saw!

Hop on the see-saw
to see the sea she saw!

Premium MemberCoral Cosmos

Drifting, drifting we float, in azure abysses aglow
Drifting, drifting we glide, amidst aquatic artistry's flow
Drifting, drifting we go, where coral constellations grow

Swimming, swimming we surge, through sapphire seas serene
Swimming, swimming we swirl, where silent symphonies convene
Swimming, swimming we soar, as shimmering schools careen

Deeper, deeper we dive, discovering diverse domains
Deeper, deeper we delve, dreaming in diaphanous depths
Deeper, deeper we descend, dazzled by dappled daylight

Floating, floating we flit, through fragments of fantasies
Floating, floating we flow, as bubbles burst and breathe
Floating, floating we fly, transcending terrestrial ties

Marvelling, marvelling we move, in liquid labyrinths vast
Marvelling, marvelling we muse, on unity unsurpassed
Marvelling, marvelling we merge, with mysteries unsurpassed

Surfacing, surfacing we rise, souls saturated, serene
Surfacing, surfacing we return, beauty-filled, breathless, keen
Surfacing, surfacing we emerge, coral's call echoing between

Starry Sorrow

I summoned sorrow to swallow my soul whole and save it from its sinister solitude.

I stared at the stars sailing against a surf of sunless skies.

I spoke to the sleek sand in soft whispers, entrusted my secrets to its slithery dance.

I sank with a scene of a silent starry sky into a silky sea of soundness.

And my spirit surrendered to the serene song of the swell to shield my psyche from the screeches of this senseless city.

 * * *
Suddenly,
I've been reminded of the truth:
So solid & devastating.

The sea is distant from this city;
I'm only staring at the ceiling,
Sparkling salt water streaming from both eyes.

Strange how the darkness of this place seduces one to lose oneself in fantasies
of soaring up towards a starry space . . .

Like when the river flowed backwards. These things that come to my mind what is the quartz of this design? There is this

weird hum in the sea
a floating human-less hump
a humpbacked whale
hungry and hunting
hurrying to hurl krill
hoary humpback heaves with happiness
