Organised demonic widespread terror
Taliban’s view - they’re heroes and martyrs
But for Afghan citizens, all their hopes deplete
Freedom and dignity laid at their conquerors feet
Each nation in their cozy cocoon, looks the other way
Humanity is oblivious to blue skies now turning grey
We are all interconnected, have we not yet learnt
Did not the Chinese virus see the world burnt
Brains have developed but hearts shrunk
Methinks humanity as a whole is now sunk
Memories are short, 9/11 is by now forgotten
Each in self-aggrandization, by power smitten
It’s not about Afghanistan but collective consciousness
We see in ourselves indifference and callousness
A far cry yet it seems our cognition spherical
We are cannibals, acts feral and inimical

Rashomon effect, birthing confusion
Spawning divergent interpretations
Each stage actor, being far from perfect
Narrates storyline, riddled with defect
Swollen egos, dwelling in delusion
Feel good factor, self aggrandization
Leading not to truth realisation
Self hypnosis, that we may gain respect
Rashomon effect
Clear light dawns in the void of cessation
Spherical vision in meditation
Our blissful, fearless presence, stance erect
Disallows lower mind to interject
Obviating need for truth translation
Rashomon effect

My mind is euphoric from scenes historic
Assyrian chariots innovative wheels bristling Mesopotamian plains
Paring the ranks of each, dated infantry formation
In Greece, anesthetizing anvil of the Dorian invasion
Glorious bronze relics supplanted by cheaper iron distillation
Persian armies: Greek hoplites, Scythian archers; mercenary aggrandization
Shrinking rebel hordes in Asia Minor's wars of attrition
The venal nature of imperial Rome's persuasion
Crucifying a few, targeted rebels for cultural ingratiation
Devout, gentile Europeans crusading to Biblical heritage's door
Defacing cross with predations in route, arriving uplifting banner 'gainst infidel Moor
Normans in hordes splashing across the chilly, English channel tides
Under William the Conqueror's mantra, bridging the Anglo-Saxon divide
